I tried installing it on my Vbulletin board (Version 4.2 Patch Level 2). It says it installed via the plug in manager but I don't see the settings anywhere in my control panel.

Has anyone tried to install it on 4.2 and not just do a upgrade where you had it previously?

Installed on 4.2.0, appears to just be a link in the navigation manager. The old style that shows the number of people in the chatroom is not appearing.

I got it working. I had to upload each of the files manually and it showed up in the control panel. The importer didn't seem to work so I followed the manual directions.

It showed # of people chatting as well.

just updated the plugin and it broke everything..no tab on my forumhome...no links or anything..can't really figure out what's going on :/

Have you configured your chat room from the AddonChat section of the ACP, or is that not showing either?

Only thing I needed to do was change the addonchat_embed template because it wasn't displaying correctly on my site (header/breadcrumbs etc). If anyone else is having display problems they might want to try changing this

it works if i go to myforum.com/addonchat.php and pops out (i have the java6 popout enabled in the addonchat CP as suggested) -- everything is configured correctly, so it loads, the only thing is the chat tab doesn't show on my forumhome. the tab _is_ enabled in the ACP Navigation manager.

My counter never decreases. It just keeps adding users to the number of people chatting and when people leave the room - it never decreases. Any idea what could be causing this?

I installed 4.2.0 but I don't see changes. I can enable the tab but it opens embedded in the same window and there are no counts of "chatters" on the tab.

@sixpackspeak: Usually this is a result of your server being unable to communicate with ours. Most commonly it is a PHP configuration issue (no CURL or url_fopen directive) It could also be a firewall issue.

@rajcolmo: Give it at least 10 minutes before testing the Who's Chatting script, and ensure there is at least one user in your chat room during that time. The Who's Chatting count is updated as a scheduled task in VB. Ensure that the option is enabled in your control panel and your chat room functions correctly. If after that it is not working, ensure that either CURL is installed and working or the PHP url_fopen directive is enabled in the PHP configuration file. Finally, ensure that your server is able to communicate with ours.

If those suggestions don't work, e-mail support@addonchat.com for assistance.

I installed this mod, and if I go to the homepage down towards the bottom it has a list of all the users in the chat room.. THe only problem is there is no space between the usernames, so if 10 people are in there it looks like 1 long name. I need a comma or something to seperate them out.. Was there a fix for this? Thanks!

One other question, is there a way to make the chat room "float" still? I notice when I installed this mod it has one link that goes to the chat room but no link to "float" the chat room to seperate it.. Is that still possible?

Works well. I can't work out how to specify usergroups (I have the pro version). Addon Chat options do not appear under user my groups settings.

Anyone interested in helping install this by any chance?

I don't have the option to change users to different groups in chat. I could usually play around with some and change their color but it won't let me anymore.. whys that?

Hi Grim I installed the free version which worked fine, I then upgraded to professional and now cant log in to my chatroom?

I keep getting 'invalid username or password'...

I am having the same issue and I have both of those things enabled.

When i click navbar chat tab, Chat room will open automatic as Detach chat room ( Pop-up)

THanks for this mod! It seems to work perfectly - except for one thing.

I've got a usergroup with regular-user-level permissions, and I've set the color of their icons to yellow. This usergroup is set to not override display options.

There's an admin-level group with their icon color set to blue. This usergroup is set to override display options.

Anybody who's in both of them shows up in yellow, but still has all the privileges of the blue admin group. The lower level group is overriding the icon display for the higher level group, regardless of group-wide settings, and I need it the other way around.

Anybody have any advice?

Is there a projected date for vBulletin 4 integration?

I have the same question. I'm running VBulletin 4.2.3. Looking for a new chat solution now that 123Flashchat seems to be gone. I see that you asked this question the first of July though so I wonder if this is the right solution anyway.

I did get a response to the message I sent them on their site. There is not a solution for integration at this time. I was told that they plan to do it but there is no timeframe right now.

Not sure what you are referring to. I'm not saying that this plugin does not work for VBulletin 4. I'm saying that there is not a integration at this time for the new AddonChat X.

So this only works with their "Classic" addition?

That's what I understood. I may have it wrong though. I have too many members using phones, Google, iPads and etc. to go with something that won't work with just html so I will have to wait or else find another solution.

OK folks. It looks like AddonChat has not yet offered a VBulletin integration. I really need to find another chat room for my site and I'm close to pulling the trigger on ProChatRooms. Any really bad feedback before I do so?

One thing I know that is missing is a "Who's Chatting" solution for the forum page. My members are going to be screaming for that right off the bat but I haven't found a solution offered yet.

A couple months I was trying this out for a client and I am not sure if this is the chat I am thinking about but I believe this does not integrate well with the Vbulletin user data. I believe people need to create a separate account when they want to chat.

You may want to double check this though.

I have 2 very large client sites using 123flashchat using their server and it has been ok though not perfect and support is non existent but that was the best option we could find for their purposes.

If you need something local you can get the mngcchatbox pro free here. Nick released it free and you can set it up pretty good as a chat room instead of a chatbox. I am not so sure you can have a popup window though it could probably be coded without too much trouble. I am not sure on that though.
