Change to the Custom CSS display style and edit the awards_css.css template. As stated elsewhere in this thread.

Please read before you start asking the same questions that have already been answered before.

This is why I did not upgrade.

The version of this mod as its currently installed is the latest version (4.0.0-RC1)

But your using tables that have not been upgraded. And don't you mean your bought vB4.0 not 4.1 cause as far as I know vB4.1 is not out yet.

I used Impex to import the necessary tables (users/groups/threads/topics etc) from our old forum to our new one. So only those are the ones which are still 3.8, the rest are the ones that came with the new software.

And sorry, I meant 4.0.1 not 4.1 :)

Xanlamin 01-25-2010 03:02 AM

your users do not have the same ID #'s has they had on the other board, so when it is looking to see who (userid) has an award it pulls the userid's it has and displays the names of those userid's on the new site.

RedTrinity 01-25-2010 03:34 AM

Hmmm... strange. I wonder why the ID's changed

Ok I just had a look and you're right, and I've just worked out why... it looks like when the users were imported to the new forum (4.0.1) it only imported active accounts (not the deleted ones) and renumbered them all over again.

Wonder if there is a way to get it to recount the members in the 3.8 database... I might have to enquire about that on the official forums.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction Xanlamin :)

Good luck with that. =) ImpEx isn't supposed to be used to upgrade between vB versions. Don't ask me why they don't do that, I wanted to do the same thing to get a clean VB install by retain my VB data. But that's the reply you'll get there.

You really only have two options.

1) Redo your upgrade and don't use ImpEx to copy your database.

2) Delete all awards and reassign them. (The better option really)

You can't change the userIDs now and if you tried, there would be so many things screwed up you'd never get things working correctly.

Xanlamin 01-25-2010 03:48 AM

Impex is for when you have different forum software and going to vB, not upgrades of the same forum software. Your best bet is to go back 100% to you old forums, disable the awards mod in 3.8, then upgrade your forums to 4.0.1. Then install this version of the awards (4.0.0 RC1). But with the userid's the way they are now....you can not change them, you will do more damage and will have to scrap the whole site. Like Trek said, remove all the awards from the users and reassign them, if you have both sites up at the same time it should be pretty easy to give all the awards back to who gets them just by looking.

Yeah I'll just have to do that I think. Its a little too late to go back to using the old forum now, as I've dismantled a lot of it already lol. Plus all users are now all settled over on the new one - which I've already spent a lot of time building and modifying.

Ahh well, live and learn I suppose :p

Thanks again for your support with this, guys

-Enter a numerical range of IDs at once EX. 1-1000 (All users with IDs between and including 1 and 1000 would receive that award)
-Give Awards Based Off Usergroups

I third this idea!!! Would really come in handy right about now when I am having to re-issue awards to an entire community.

Though I'd like usernames as an option, as well as ID's :)

wolfyman 01-25-2010 12:24 PM

can I integrate this into a paid subscription service?

When the user is current on paid subscriptions, they have the award... and when they no longer are paying, the reward will disappear?

When I get the RC2 build finished, you can use it to automate issuing awards to a Usergroup that you assign them via Paid Subscriptions.

wolfyman 01-25-2010 01:09 PM

I'll mark it as installed then, so I get notified. Thanks!

wolfyman 01-25-2010 03:12 PM

how about issuing an award automatically when a member enters a new usergroup?

I'd love to see an approved member get a notification like:

Quote:

Congrats, you have been accepted into XXXXX Group! You will now see the XXXXX award under your avatar and you can access XXXXX forum now, too!

Xanlamin 01-25-2010 04:32 PM

Yes you will be able to. Like when they do a donation and they are automaticaly put into the Donors usergroup for instance, they will get the award assigned to that usergroup, and if they leave that group the award will disappear.

wolfyman 01-25-2010 05:24 PM

I'm assuming it will work with recurring payments, then... when do you expect it to be released?

Thanks for your work!

Xanlamin 01-25-2010 05:37 PM

yes recurring payments will keep the user in the group therefore keeping the award.

And should be out by the end of the week.

sumampouw 01-25-2010 05:55 PM

Thank you for this add on...

Bouncer222 01-25-2010 06:55 PM

Great! can't wait for the donors to work with this!

abualk 01-25-2010 07:08 PM

Is there an option to show 'some' awards in posts or not ? For example, I gave an award for someone and showed it in posts for one month. After that, I wouldn't it to be shown in posts but I want it to be shown in the user profile 'In awards tab' .

However, thanks for this great mood and we are waiting YaAS-4.0.0-RC2 .

BUT PLEASE, READ BEFORE POSTING, IF YOU POST THAT YOUR HAVING AN ISSUE THAT IS RESOLVED WHEN YOU USE THE LATEST RELEASE OF THIS MOD AND ARE RUNNING THE RELEASE OF VBULLETIN IT WAS MADE FOR THEN YOUR POST WILL BE IGNORED UNTIL YOU UPGRADE THE MOD AND OR UPGRADE YOUR VBULLETIN.

Most of the issues have been resolved when you use YaAS-4.0.0-RC1 AND vBulletin 4.0.1, do NOT just reimport the XML, you must also upload ALL the files in the zip.

Those who are running current version and are still having issues you will be helped, but for you please allow guest, we will NOT register on your site to find these errors you link us to, if you do not want to enable guest view then please post screenshots.

Thank You

We are running 5.0 so that isn't the issue. This is still causing a DB error when I try to activate it.

Any consideration on the mass award handout option for the next version? :)

cloferba 01-26-2010 02:14 AM

i want to insert a button to link to user?s awards....

i mean a direct link, (actually this mod uses "awards.php-userid-etc" (for example)

im using this mod https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=228507 and it only works with links without variables like userid..
i would like to insert button "My Awards" without needing specification of userid (so...link is available to any user..not only one user).

tell me if you dont understand what im saying xD...im not english speaker, so is a bit difficult to me explain well...but i can do it better :)

Sayid 01-28-2010 03:16 AM

wow can't wait for the next release of this awesome mod.
I will nominated this for the year if I can not month only :d
tagged until upgrading to vb4

wolfyman 01-28-2010 01:50 PM

yep! Waiting for the next release here as well, and I'll be nominating if it works well!

CypherSTL 01-29-2010 02:32 PM

Sorry I keep pushing the release of RC2.

Currently, I'm at my brothers house and have been most of the week as my car is having some problems and we're working on getting that fixed. Hopefully it isn't too much longer guys.

iDCamps 01-29-2010 04:18 PM

anybody know if you can award users in batches? say, a script or something to award the same award to multiple users, instead of doing it user by user?

That is on my list to add. It might not make it into RC2, but it will be in a future release.

iDCamps 01-29-2010 05:27 PM

awesome... it would be sweet to enter a string of user id's or usernames into the input box, instead of only one. but honestly i've no idea how to go about it.

On the same line of thought, I have awards that I want to ALWAYS show in the postbit, and at a specific position. For instance, I have leaders for various groups that after a while retire. I'd like to honor them and their work with an award that shows this, but if they do something that gets them other awards, it'll fall off the postbit. I could raise the number of icons, but... it'll be too much if they get too many awards (which is possible).

Anyway, someone else I'd like to see if you guys can add it in. =)

I have installed the upload folder to my FTP client, how do I now get it into my vbulliten? (sorry I am a newb).

Read the readme.txt file included in the ZIP file you downloaded.

GONUMBER6 01-30-2010 01:12 PM

It says for installation instructions "Upload the entire upload folder to your forum root" and then it says "import .xml"

I tried....is there a better desription for this that is more newb friendly? Please help, any help would be grateful.

thanks!

You've got a lot to learn, apparently. :)

Open the "Upload folder" and upload the files to your site via ftp...

images go to images, etc.

To import the xml file, go to your vbulletin admincp > add products > browse, find the file > import.

Don't worry, it gets easier. :)

GONUMBER6 01-30-2010 02:43 PM

Thank you! I did figure out what I did wrong. I did not add the main product .xml file into my root directory. I only uploaded the contents of the upload folder.

I guess there should be a file for "installing for total newbs"!

Now I understand it, and now I can finally get some sleep. Thanks for your help! Marked as installed!:D

Thank you for bringing this Mod to V4.

I had v3 version "disabled" and upgraded to v4, everything works great except I do not have a tab in the profile page. Any help would be appreciated.

swiftor 01-31-2010 01:47 PM

This mod did not carry over my users awards from the previous version... previous version was disabled prior to upgrade... anything I can do to restore?

In the Award Manager, change the display order with the numerical values. Then, go into the Award System Settings, and change the Sorting Order.

If you're running the latest release both YAAS and vB, the tabs do work.

Go back through all your Awards System Settings, Award Manager, etc. The Awards System does not delete awards during the 3.8 to 4.0 upgrade.

I do know that vBulletin 4.0.1 has a UTB-8 Character bug in some cases, and I do believe has already been confirmed to have been fixed in 4.0.2.

That's the only thing I can think of. I simply cannot check, support, integrate different languages, etc.
