I have no problems with this mod besides the ones mentioned as fixed in the new release tomorrow. I use it on a heavily modified vB4 site.
|
Glad to see others posting positive stuff about this mod... Like I said, my experience has been all positive, and my users enjoy the feature. So far I have not had a single functionality issue with the mod, with the exception of the FB connect button not showing in the new style I intend to use on the site.
It was getting a bit frustrating seeing people tearing this mod apart and encouraging other to either not install it or remove it completely - That is being part of the problem, not the solution. I'd still like to know why others and myself are having problems with the FB connect button/link not showing in some site styles. Has anyone resolved this issue yet? |
ScottiG, do you have Suite or just forum. from what I see on the thread is that it just not showing up on cms and blog pages.
|
I am running 3.8.4, no suite, no blog, I do have CMPS for the main page, but the button/link works perfectly on one of my styles, but not on the other - The style it does not work on is the style I would like to use on my site.
In an earlier post, I mentioed that I copied all of a section from the navbar in the style that works, and pasted it into the style that does not - Of course I got two navbars, one with the link, one without, so I looked for differences but could not find anything blatently defined for the facebook connect link. I am guessing it is a modified phrase? Something that looks similar, but is nbot obvious to a not-so-well-versed person like myself. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! |
OK, for those that are having an issue with the FB button not showing in your navabr in some styles, I think I have it figured out (kinda)... You need to add this line to your header template...
$template_hook[navbar_buttons_right] I am not sure "exactly" where this should go, but I added it at the beginning of the login text and it seems to work OK there. I have one problem now... If a member is not signed into "both" the forum AND Facebook, and uses the Facebook Connect feature, it pops up the Facebook sign in box, then goes back to the forum "facebook connect" page - In other words, it does not refresh the page to display the member logged in and bring up the forumhome page. In other words, unless you select to navigate away from the "facebook connect" page, you will appear logged out (even though you are logged in) - You have to either click on something to refresh the page, or the page just hangs there.... Any thoughts on how to refresh the page after signing in using the connect feature? Thanks in advance! Hope my post helps those looking to get the button working in your custom styles. |
it works just perfect for me i dont know way ppl here wrote that it was making problems for them grate mod thanks man

Well this mod seems to work for me no issues at all, however i have existing facebook accounts back from when i had 3.8.4 and i had facebook connect installed is there a way to make the mod search the member list maybe to find facebook proxy email addresses or something so that my old facebook users can still login and dont need to make a new account? if that make sense.
Also can you tell me where i need to change the code to move the facebook connect as it has iTrader after it and i want it to be the other way round. thanks |
works fine for me also...the only issues i have is when i have to edit templates, install or uninstall products, i have to shut yafb down first.
|
installed, howewer i added my own facebook connect botton, using the vb default banner manager. :D
works great, installed smoothless.. One request, i want users registrering through facebook, to be put in a specifik usergroup. |
Seems that we will not see a update till February now. :(
He said after two days he would not be able to get on untill February. Today makes two days. Guess I will have to start debugging this again. |
I was kind of thinking the same thing. I was really wanting to install the new version atleast by today.
|
I'm keeping an eye on this one. Tagged.

OK Just notice something. does anyone's visitor message post show up. I have a few members posting on other friends profiles but no notice or story appears on the profile. I see the option for it to but they all say it doesn't work, anyone else?

OK, well, I managed to resolve my "Connect with Facebook" link and icon not displaying in certain site styles, and I did post the fix a few posts earlier, but I must tip my hat to MrPaint for getting back to me with the solution (albeit a bit late in my case) - it does show, however, that "if" I did not resolve the problem myself, MrPaint would have come to my rescue! - I give him credit for that.
That said, I will now give MrPaint a well deserved A+ not only for this mod, but for his continued support for his product. Like others, I am looking forward to the update - I wonder if it will simply be a bug fix, or if it will have some new goodies built in? |
Hi,
is it possible that this App write comments written in facebook, are posted as post (answer) in the associated post in vBulletin? This would be the "perfect bridge"... |
