Hi there, i found another error in some posts, it is not in every post but in abou 1/3 of all posts i think.

The div seems to have the wrong size, any idea how to fix that, or if it has already been fixed in the 14 pages?

Cheers,

Disi

Its called Web Developer Toolbar, its a addon for Firefox (you can get it here), if you push ctrl+shift+f you can highlight each element and see the informations.

So you dont have quite an idea how to fix that problem?

Currently i'm using your Template as main template on v-mc.net because it's one of the best, but as you sure can tell Community-Members are quite annoying when it comes to problems or bugs ;)

Cheers,

Disi

What im after is more full width, not centred, also the header aligns more to the right and leaves the left with a gap.. any pointers would be great.. :)

Not a problem. Each problem is addressed when we are correcting bugs. When I say we are working on the bug, that just means it should be fixed by the next release. Until then, all bugs are considered "working on fix".

The doc_width is the stylevar for changing the width. You can add more to it if it is too short.
The doc_margin centers it. The issue has been fixed for the next update, but you must set left and right as "auto" for it to be centered.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Impulse8.. Spot on

mynameisbear 02-16-2010 11:23 PM

Any idea when there might be an update? I've told my userbase "this Sunday" twice now, I just need to be able to manage their expectations. ;)

Switch3130 02-16-2010 11:58 PM

after updating to vB 4.2 i get a white page now and not the skin

Popa Andrei 02-17-2010 08:06 AM

update for vb 4.0.2 ?

jbstans 02-17-2010 12:34 PM

Installed and loving it, thanks!

Bouncer222 02-17-2010 02:42 PM

I really want to install this but.... update to vb 4.0.2 please?

CrosseyedGamer 02-17-2010 05:50 PM

this seems to be a hot skin. I had installed but had tons of errors in it and could not afford to wait for them to get fixed. I modified many of them myself with some help with others on vb.

I did the upgrade to 4.0.2 and many things actually seem to have worked out but, there are multiple alignment errors with many pages. Seems like some closing tags are wrong or missing.
Was also trying to use the yellow version which was never yellow. Just white or blue.

If this gets updated I would surely download and re-install.

Bouncer222 02-17-2010 08:33 PM

CrosseyedGamer could you please PM me your updated version, the old style I had for vb 4.0.1 , the author has totally dropped support for it and I'm stuck for my site with default vbulletin style.

Could you please give me the XML that you updated and the files attached?
Thank you.

I downloaded and attached. I am no designer or coder and this thing still has issues. If not for Lynne whom is all over the vb.com site some stuff I would have never fixed.

I posted some things over there as well as her tip on using firebug in firefox and doing the search templates is very smart for helping figure out what to change in the stylevars and css templates to get things looking right. As for alignment and coding, I haven't a clue.

I am checking into all the templates now and just reverting back things one at a time. I made a child of the main style and working from there. It is no fun when you are not fully trained on the product but for sure this move to VB 4 has been a learning experience.

If you come across any fixes, post them here so everyone can check them out.

good luck man.

Bouncer222 02-17-2010 09:45 PM

Yeah I gotta say Lynne is probably a god savor for everyone here :D

I checked out your site CrosseyedGamer since you mentioned that you still have issues so I checked it out to see how far you had gone in upgrading it before thinking if I should even request you of the updated version.

But I couldn't find any problems on your site, so I assumed you had finished upgrading it? Maybe you could point out the problems?

Thank you.

BTW.. since you downloaded the xml from your site, does that mean that it includes custom changes you made to your site in the templates? (not for the style to work, but to get your other personnel mods to work if you get what I mean, like custom personnel changes)

Thank you, will wait for you to respond and will meanwhile install the skin!

CrosseyedGamer 02-17-2010 10:00 PM

the only thing that was left now that I can see are some background changes. Like the view results on my poll. That was an original thing from this skin and noted I think in the first page of posts. there are a couple areas like that.

Before downloading my inbox and posts where all out of whack. I reverted two templates and they are now ok.

I am guessing this thing has all the changes I made in it. all I did was download the style. When it comes to some areas of this stuff I am not the smartest.

If there is a specific way to download just the core info you need PM me and I will give that a shot.

I don't have to many add ons as of yet as I knew better than that this go round. Going from 3.8 to 4.0 ,, let's not even discuss that. LOL!!

Bouncer222 02-17-2010 10:47 PM

Tell me about it, I think vbulletin made a mess on 4.0

Well it works perfectly fine for me, didn't notice any problems so far, but will let you know ASAP when I do notice anything.

apperently my index page is not showing up for some reason and instead shows errors, because I use vbadvanced, and I don't know if its broken or if some file got overwritten or what..

Here is the forum link you can check it out..
http://www.brotherhoodofgamers.com/forum.php

I noticed that on some pages, its hard to see the font though, so I might have to try to fix that.

Now I have to figure out what stylevars do what... whoever created stylevars must have been a control freak, they are so hard to figure out.

Popa Andrei 02-17-2010 11:37 PM

until the upgrade isnt made those who have vb 4.0.2 cant use this :|

Bouncer222 02-17-2010 11:56 PM

Hey crossedeyedgamer if you look on the usercp.php page and I believe on um... friends and contacts page which is actually part of usercp... there are a lot of backgrounds which are white, what stylevar is this? Or how to fix it?

Thanks.

CrosseyedGamer 02-18-2010 12:48 AM

the area with the avatar's and username is content3_background. Haven't looked into any others as of yet.
You are using VBadvanced with 4.0 ?

EDITED
I had to uninstall that when changing over from 3.8.4. Not sure I would go back.
I had similar issues until I removed all of it.

Bouncer222 02-18-2010 01:01 AM

yes im using vbadvanced. But what does avatar and username have to do with usercp?

the usercp control panel has white background.

CrosseyedGamer 02-18-2010 01:40 AM

my usercp isn't white.

The menu on the left is white which I actually fixed before the .2 update. I am trying to figure out where that fix is again. Most of this had me changing the CSS templates directly as some of the stuff is not in the stylevars or when changing the stylevars for one thing it screws up another. fun thing this VB 4.0!

We are working hard for a quick update release for 4.0.2. Thanks for your patience. We will send a notification to all "installed" users once it is out.

Bouncer222 02-18-2010 02:20 AM

I agree...this vb 4.0 has become very complicated, but hey it is also has some really good pros to it.

Thank you impulse!! Can't wait to update mine, It's very sad I have to now totally redo all my modifications because the old style author is not active anymore...hate when that happens.

No worries. We expect to release the update tomorrow.

indie white 02-18-2010 02:48 AM

I don't know if other people have had this issue, but when I uploaded this style, my password field disappeared. How do I fix this?

LouisB 02-18-2010 09:07 AM

I'm using this theme too. Thank you for your all your hard work impulse. No problems with 4.0.2 on my setup.

NashChristian 02-18-2010 09:37 AM

Anxiosly awaiting the update for 4.0.2...

Kunai 02-18-2010 06:29 PM

impulse8

Yes, that will be updated.

Unfortunately, the update is not ready to be released today, however we are working hard to release this ASAP. (Many css changes in vB 4.0.2)

Bouncer222 02-19-2010 01:25 AM

K. Well the one the previous guy released is pretty well upgraded except reply/edit threads is messed up, some white boxes such as calendar. and other tiny alignment issues.

Maybe you can work on top of his?

I really like this skin, but I've had to uninstall it until you can get the bugs worked out of it.

Keep us posted...

Thanks.

atgv 02-20-2010 09:30 AM
