Send me a link I will tell you what the problem is.

trilogy33 01-25-2010 07:31 PM

Thank you. Works like a charm. :)

Right up until photobucket thumbnail pictures are used. I've got quite a few all over the place on my site. The mod will attempt to open these small thumbnails in the lytebox.

So you imagine what's going to happen. The small photobucket "th_image.jpg" thumbnail becomes...yep...you got it, a small thumbnail in a lytebox! :) Amusing to watch but, sorry had to disable the mod until I find a workaround.

Well lytebox is not a magic worker. It will only show the image you tell it too.

You can't expect to link a photobucket thumbnail image and expect it to find full size image.

Tell your users not to use the image code from photobucket and to use the direct link to the image.

My users use photobucket just fine with this mod.

Absolutely. It does what it does and I'm thankful for that.

Agreed, that would work for future posted images.
I meant, the users that have previously posted thumbnails to the site.
Changing every "th_" linked URLs in posts dating back years. Nah, I'll leave that lol

Problem solved by turning off the lytebox and keeping the image resize active, so, yay!
IMG tagged photobucket thumbnails are now fine.

Thank you for the fast reponse and good work :)

I can not promise it will be this week, but I could write a script to rewrite all them urls for you.
It would be for about two weeks or so.

Oh no, no need thanks for offering anyway.
Mod works fine now with the pixel dimensions set.

Sotonforum.co.u 01-26-2010 07:31 PM

Info:
This modification will resize images using css max-width and max-height. Also included is LyteBox. This works on user signatures and posted images and now Blogs.

Currently it does not work with albums.

It does work on 4.0.1 Check the demo site. With 384 installs and over 1000 downloads and your saying it doesn't work at all does not add up.

Plus if you would like help please do the following.
Mark as installed.
Print screen shot of the settings for this mod.
Give me a link on a forum post with images where this mod is installed.

Do you have vBSEO installed?

Just saying it does not work does not help me help you. I need details.

KHALIK 01-27-2010 11:16 AM

Hi there,

Print screen shot of the settings for this mod.
I am using the same settings as the image settings provided under attachment.

Do you have vBSEO installed?

Yes, vbSEO 3.5.0 installed -- can that be the problem?

EDIT:
Uninstalled, A very good mod but it is not compatitble with VBSEO at the moment.

This is definitely the problem. VBSEO 3.5 RC2 has this issue, but they have been notified about it and will have it fixed in the next release. In the meantime it might help to change how external links are handled. If you prevent them from being redirected then that fixes a lot of the issues.

compuminus 01-27-2010 02:39 PM

Just wanted to reiterate that right now the lytebox add-on is unusably slow for Internet Explorer users. This is a big problem, and probably the biggest of everything that has been mentioned so far.

It isn't no slower then firefox or Opera. It must be the users connection.

This is not the user's connection. It is a confirmed bug with lytebox and IE8. The fix is to either disable animations for all browsers in lytebox.js via:

Code:

this.doAnimations        = false;
or, to apply this.doAnimations on a case-by-case basis depending on the browser using the following function:

Code:

if (/MSIE (\d+\.\d+);/.test(navigator.userAgent)) {
                this.doAnimations = false;
                }
                else {
                this.doAnimations = true;
                }

(with the above function, animations are disabled for all IE browsers -- not just IE8. IE7 and lower can also have issues, although with IE7 it's not as bad)

Thanks for that information as I did not see that. I have not had one person say anything about that.

As a side note it makes it faster for all browsers. I think on my next releases this will be shipped with animations off.

Great! Issues with IE8 and animations are discussed further here:
http://nederveld.wordpress.com/2009/...et-explorer-8/

Another bug I noticed is that lytebox is not used if you click on an image before all the images in the thread have finished downloading. This appears to be a bug in the plugin as opposed to lytebox.

This is because the page has to finish loading before the replacement is done.

hmmm, it would be great if there were a way to change that behavior. Even something crude (like making it so that the inline images aren't clickable in the meantime). Many of my members are clicking before the page finishes and PM'ing me saying there's a bug and asking why it isn't working.

I do not know of any other way to do it.

Another feature request: resizing of album images with lytebox clickability. It would be a huge upgrade...

Apophis 01-30-2010 11:44 PM

Installed - Works great!

Kat00 01-31-2010 12:42 AM

Works Great, Thanks.

You should of uploaded the lytebox directory in tact.
In other words you should have the following structure.

forumroot/lytebox/images

Kat00 01-31-2010 03:10 AM

Yeah, that' what I did.

It must be an IE8 issue because I can't see them here either http://www.dolem.com/lytebox/

I just checked Chrome on my forum and it shows up.

When you get a chance could you have a look at why IE8 is doing that?

Cheers

BBR-APBT 01-31-2010 03:26 AM

I will look into it it has to be css issue.

Kat00 02-01-2010 09:33 AM

Is it possible that the inability to see the buttons has more to do with WIN7 rather than IE8?

I checked today and I can see the buttons with IE8 on with my XP laptop.

w-elbalad.com 02-01-2010 10:41 AM

the pest for 4.0.1
put i need 1 click to go link
2 clik to show the big pic

compuminus 02-01-2010 02:47 PM

A lot of my members are telling me that they are having to click on every image because they're not sure if it's been resized or not. It would be really nice if this add-on either only made images clickable if they had been resized, or added a on-liner above the image saying "This image has been resized from its original resolution of X by Y pixels." Some of the resizers for vB 3.8 and earlier did this and I think it was very helpful.

Will not be adding that as it will only make more issues.

Read the thread and you will see where I said I would add that in the next release.
Having to repeat my self over and over in modification threads is not helping me get them updated.

Please people read the thread almost all answers are here.

cnutter 02-01-2010 03:21 PM

This might sound a bit retarded but will it re-size images in a CMS article?

Bit tired mate?

I have IE8 on two machines and I am asking you if its at all possible if it could be Windows7 causing the problem.

I can see the "Close Button" on my XP machine using IE8 as the browser but I can't see the "Close Button" on my Windows 7 machine using IE8 as the browser.

I can however see the "Close Button" on my Windows 7 machine using both FireFox and Chrome Browsers.

Yes I was/am tired fianc?e woke me up at 12:10am and I been up since. Now that I reread your post I see win7 I read IE7 LMAO.
Sorry about that.

Hmmm Windows 7 and IE8 cause the problem. I don't want to say it's a browser issue cause it works with IE8 on windows XP. I don't want to say its a OS problem because I do not see how that has anything to do with the browser.

Have you cleared your cookies, cache, and temp files on IE8 for the Windows 7 machine?

Kat00 02-02-2010 10:51 AM

I just ran it in compatability mode and sure enough the button turned up.
