Andrew,
Thanks for this mod :) It is not what I thought it would be at first glance but have tested it out and I can't thank you enough for the great addition to my site.

I have one request maybe you can help me with: I am trying to add thumbnails to the main page, catbit page? I am looking for a way to create the same thumbnails and setup that the vba module handles but display it right above the columns on the local_links.php page. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Take a look in the release/extras directory. I think the filmstrip extra will do the trick.

Hi Andrew! I just headed over to see what we would need to do with the download manager, and I'm so glad that you're upgrading it to work with 4.0. :) Thank you so much for all the hard work you put into this project. I know that it's been invaluable to our site. Have a great holiday!

abdelghani68 12-20-2009 07:16 PM

Is there an approximate date of release for vb4?

Yes - when it's ready.

I am roughly 60% of the way through updating the templates for vb 4. Thereafter, everything has to be rechecked to make sure it's all working properly.

thanks very mush

I can't see an error, and no-one else has reported this message. What are you doing when the message occurs?

Andrew, if you need a test site, give me a shout. I have our site set up under a test environment before we try to upgrade live. The only plugin we are keeping is yours and the integrated Photopost.

Will do - am almost through the first stage of conversion - only five more templates to go, about 195 recoded for vb4. Most features seem to be working correctly.

Zookie 12-26-2009 01:53 AM

I just upgraded from 3.8.3 to 3.8.4 PL2 and my forum's home page is displaying as an empty white blank page. I went through possible causes listed at http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/blank_pages and I'm wondering if the following is it:

Quote:

4. You have a bad plugin installed. To disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php

define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

I tried adding that line to my config.php file and the home page now displays. But if I click the Links and Downloads Manager link I get a empty page with the words "No input file specified."

So, is this an issue with LDM or did I screw something up when I upgraded from 3.8.3 to 3.8.4 PL2?

Sorry to hear this. I have just applied the upgrade to vb 3.8.4pl2 on my test system and do not experience the problem you are describing. Have you tried disabling GZIP compression using your vb acp - Go to vBulletin->admincp->vBulletin options->Cookies and Header Options, disable GZIP HTML Output, go back to one of the pages that was causing problems and try again. PHP error messages create white pages when this option is selected. Another possibility is that one of the php files was not correctly uploaded for vb 3.8.4.

If necessary, I am willing to take a look at your site, but will need full access (FTP and admin).

This turns out to be a warning generated in php version 5.2.12 but not in earlier versions, which explains why it is only just being reported.

You can fix the problem (I think) by editing one of the code files, includes/local_links_include.php. If you are not comfortable making edits, get back to me.

a) Make a backup copy of that file, in case something goes wrong
b) Find function ldm_catcmp, which is between lines 1543 and 1571 in your version of LDM
c) Replace all these lines by the contents of the attached.

Let me know if that fixes things.

I think what will be good with ldm. It's a module radio, that plays the files of the library. I don't know if it's possible and a big works or no.

I imagine the problem is as the error message says - the file that is being downloaded is corrupted. Perhaps it was already corrupt before uploading the file, or perhaps the upload did not work correctly. I don't think it is a problem in LDM itself - just try reuploading.

I am happy to take a look at your site, but will need an account that is a full vb admin. Send me a PM with details if you want me to do this.

Hawaiian-TV 01-01-2010 05:43 PM

I am having the same problem. Checked permissions and all my categories have associated parent forums, all regular users have canview, canviewothers permissions. I even checked and noticed I had it set so regular users could not edit their posts, fixed those permissions for all forums, then tried again. Same problem. Please help.

Off-hand, I would imagine that this is a permissions-related problem. Do all your categories have associated 'parent forums'? Worth checking that regular users have 'canview' and 'canviewothers' permissions for these forums (vb/admincp). If this is not the problem, I'm very willing to take a look at your site, but will need full admin access - send me a PM if you want to go this route.

Of the problems I was not in the site or settings
I got the same problem when you change the server
The problem is when you open a file
The file appears it is damaged
Are there any settings should be at the server

Im trying to find out why LDM is giving this error on each LDM page:
Quote:

Warning: uksort() [function.uksort]: Array was modified by the user comparison function in [path]/includes/local_links_include.php on line 1589
I recently installed vboptimise. However disabling that does not resolve it.
I use LDM 2.3.0-p1

This is caused by a change in the error handling in the latest version of php. Replace includes/local_links_include.php by the attached - should fix things.

Many thanks for your swift response Andrew.

Zookie 02-13-2010 04:20 PM

I'm using LDM 2.3.0 and need to customize some things. I've done this in the past but for the life of me I can't recall how I did it so now I'm pretty much starting over on changing the text that is displayed in some locations. I'd appreciate some help:

1) On the page that lists files available to download, There's a section where I've got directions for downloaders. It's a box with a heading and is under the menu bar with "Categories Show Search" links and above the "Sort by" drop-down list. I want to edit the text in this box but just can't find how to do so. I've searched all the .xml files I've got as well as used the "Search in Phrases" utility in the vB Admin Control Panel.

2) On the page where one enters all the information on a file they are uploading, there's a heading area just above the form (just below the menu bar with "Categories Show Search" links). How do I edit that heading?

Thanks!

These are both done via the ldm admin/settings page.

1) You either have (or have had) installed the "add-page-information" 'extra' which gives you a group on controls and a the text box (pageinfo_message) to set this message.

2) This is done with the "use_instructions" box on the settings page.

The first of these messages can be modified on a per-category basis (using the edit category/control settings page) but the second can only be set globally.
