True but there are a lot of people using it now and that number will continue to increase.

I narrowed down the problem. I mainly use IE8 now which is the cause. In FF everything is good. Im not sure about IE7 since I updated the browser before I installed the arcade. If I had to guess KW, your using FF?

Yep. FF as my daily browser and IE6 for backup testing (since IE6 is still the dominant browser).

Unfortunately... yes, more people will start using it and using it with all of the default options in place. I'll throw a copy of it on my laptop to play around with.

TheLastSuperman 03-24-2009 02:43 PM

TY TY TY for this and your site being back up!!!!

I've been waiting simply because I personally (IMO so hmph to others w/ different opinions ;) :D) like this better than IBPro etc.

DL'd as I'm remote desktop'd from work but marking as installed for my new forums because it's going to be installed tonight!

THANKS AGAIN :D

connkid25 03-24-2009 03:33 PM

Thanks KW. Once this is sorted out I will purchase your branding free to show my support. Nice job on the additions btw!

Has the v3 website gone down?

IE8 problem, confirmed. :o My test IE8 install was using all of the defaults with no additional handlers installed so it was as 'default' as possible. I likely won't have a fix ready with 1.1.0 but I have a different way in mind of dealing with the cookie issue. I'll need to experiment a bit more.

Not to my knowledge.

Zidane007nl 03-25-2009 10:47 AM

Great that you continued to support this great mod. Upgraded from 1.0.7. :)

The only problem I have is that on the games list the crown images aren't displaying. The source code for the image says "images/arcade", like it's missing something.
And is it possible to set the link in the navbar somewhere else?

Not to my knowledge.

It works fine with FF, but for me it has issues with both IE 7 and 8.
If i take a look in a cookie then a game have failed to submit i can se that it thinks that im not logged in.
I have disabled the "Clear the cookie" funktion from the code temporary so i can se how it looks then it succeed or fails to submit.

Pm if you like loggins to the sites to test.

Update found a way to make it work with IE
If i force force IE to check for new pages every visit it works:D

One more way to fix it are to enable "Add No-Cache HTTP Headers" in vbulletins control panel.

Version 1.0.9 introduced new crown options but, unfortunately, we also found out that it introduced a bug in that if you turn off awards in the postbit it also breaks the awards showing on the Arcade pages.
Version 1.1.0 will be changed a bit so that turning off awards will be a global option.

For the 1.x.x series, with the automatic template edits, we aren't planning that change for now. However, the next major rewrite is currently taking place (Brian has been busy) and more granular options are planned (such as where the Arcade link is placed).

With 1.1.0, the problem will still be present but post that release I'm thinking of getting rid of the cookie entirely and going with a different method. The cookie method got around a few issues but, with the newer versions of IE, it created a new one. :banghead:

Yes but ill hope that it doesnt take to long before a real fix gets released since this solution will cause server load to increase.

Could you tell me what makes v3 Arcade different from IBproArcade, which is what I have installed so far.

Is v3 Arcade better ? Or is it just another script doing the same with a different name ?
Thanks.

Go here and view the arcade for yourself. IBpro IMO is an eye sore.

1. What are the advantages of this mod over IPBProarcade?

2. Is it a requirement to validate your install path in order to access the games download section on v3arcade.com? It seems so, but I just want to confirm. I think this is not a good idea since I already have IPBproarcade installed. I have to remove that and install yours to validate. This is a bit of a pain.

Would appreciate if someone can answer this.

Does anyone get transmission timeouts like on IBP??

Lupixos 03-27-2009 08:31 AM

hello I have a problem times.

and is about as security tokens.

this is the game whom you wish to communicate.
that ye also wist what my board is different.
I wrote a vbcms indoors and index in this file is renamed.
and the index of the forum is now index1 and I've the feeling this is why the token comes.
nu times and my question what can I do this again goes

Now if it comes with the change yet again. I'll tell you the same it is not feasible as I would like the portal comes first.
yes I know that there are other ways to go but unfortunately not with me so I had to make the so -

so I ask you now to help these security tokens to vanish!

tlwwolfseye 03-27-2009 08:50 AM

I asked the same thing a short time ago in the vBarcade for help, but instead of just telling me which specific file/template I have to change, there was something that you could do to fix that but that was not really specifically explained to me.

So I had no choice but to deinstall the Arcade. Its sad sometimes that even if its pretty sure that someone knows how to do just one thing, he rather will not help but just (at max.) give you a link to something else which you then have to completely read and maybe also to understand before you actually know how to use that to fix your problem.

If you get help here about that issue, please let me know. Then I install the Arcade again.

Lupixos 03-27-2009 10:09 AM

ok this is obviously bad but I must say that I do not vBarcade but the v3 Arcade was indoors because it is ne solution to give

Best answer I can give is to take a look at the history of both and make your own decision. There are reasons why some of us continued to use v3A after the original developer put the project on hiatus status and those reasons are why I also acquired the full rights to the project (back in Feb.) so that v3A can continue to be developed & enhanced.

The intent of the games available at v3A.com is to allow v3A users a place to download some free games that their creators have given permission for them to be legally redistributed at v3A. v3A.com is not a game distribution site; it is a support site purposely for those running v3A.

Sorry, but I am not following what type of error exactly you are getting. Security token errors from what & where?

Huh?

Lupixos 03-27-2009 08:53 PM

hm, I will formulate something different.

so you get here at this constitutes a token index.php?act=Arcade&do=newscore

and so the scores will not be transmitted

Strange i now that older versions of v3arcade had security tokens errors then you tried to change things in th cp but never then it tried to submit a score.

Are you sure you are running the latest version?
Pm a link so i can take a look at it.

Lupixos 03-28-2009 07:36 PM

yes, I'm fairly sure I have the latest version drauf

I have vbulletin in germany wen you read a portal using the portal and into a php file index.php igend does what it has to register again but it goes right, I have nothing to be found v3arcade

Have you uploaded the files to the correct folders?

SynTaX404 03-29-2009 11:44 AM

Every time I try to add permissions for the arcade to usergroups, i save the group but it is creating another group instead of saving the one I've opened. So I tried to set the group permissions for admin, but when I save, I have another group named administrator that I didn't want and the original group still doesn't have permissions.

Thats most likely a conflict with one of the plugins you?re using, try and disable them all temporary to se if you can change permissions.
Then start them one by one and se wich one of them will cause the error.

hannie 03-29-2009 02:41 PM

One of the easiest plugins i have added, Fab, my members love it.

There we go, I got the xml working but when I click on the Arcade on the navbar, I get nothing. Just goes to www.yoursitehere.com/arcade.php but its still the homepage, any ideas? Because this same thing was going on with another mod that had a link on the navbar.

Also, could this be because of PHP being on safe_mode?

no problem with safe mode, but are your forum installed i a folder or in the root?
If in a folder try adding it like this www.yoursitehere.com/foldername/arcade.php

mrconfus3d 03-29-2009 11:08 PM

No, its the root.

Traxdata 03-30-2009 09:13 AM

I'm having dreadful problems with timeout issue submitting scores with ibProArcade at the moment and nobody seems to be able to help!

Complicating matters, the /forums/arcade/gamedata folder will now be a shared folder between the two different systems. Opinions are welcome. :)

Did you make a decission about this?
