i did all the upgrades and followed the steps, but nothing is coming up. i don't see the facebook connect when logged out on the navbar.
|
ok, i changed the usergroup permission for unregistered so no forums can be viewed. in this case, i see the facebook connect logo, but when i click on it, nothing happens.
|
the Facebook Connect library doesn't support PHP4
|
Even with the upgrade done I am still getting the error I was when you click the login button
Please if someone could look at the attached image and give me som clues as to what might be causing this problem I would really appreciate it. I have spent hours upon hours trying to sort it, including completly reinstalling the forum. |

Good to see existing users can now use the feature! I notice the created user has the facebook app email address. Any way we can get their proper email address in that field?

this is getting unbearably frustrating. what is my callback URL??
Invalid Argument The Facebook Connect cross-domain receiver URL (http://sundeviltalk.com/xd_receiver....%220.755%22%7D) must have the application's callback url (http://sundeviltalk.com/forums/xd_receiver.htm) as a prefix. You can configure the callback url in the application's settings. |

Did you upload the xd_receiver.htm file into your root forum directory? I'm not sure if this means anything, but If you enter http://sundeviltalk.com/forums/xd_receiver.htm your site comes up. On my site the Addon is working and if you do http://Globalhockeynetwork.com/xd_receiver.htm you get a blank page. |

your site - mean forum is http://www.sundeviltalk.com/forums.php and your callback url should be also http://www.sundeviltalk.com/forums.php - test this

where is your index.php ? there should be your xd_reciver.htm - maybe your upload wrong ... was on your site and see that some pictures have "red x" - wrong path callback url must be same url what you have in your admincp - for your board ! reg macc |

I put, 'www.mysiteurl.com/forums/xd_receiver.htm' as my callback URL and it seems to have fixed all my problems.

side note. I was able to log in this morning, long enough to try and install the new version 1.1.1
I did notice however that the product is still version 1.1.0 in the products and plug in manager in admincp |

at this point, something is wrong with my db. that, and CMPS is causing some sort of conflict. (both educated guesses) slik has been been working with me to fix, and its my fault for not doing a backup before installing, but this mod has basically taken down my board. :( |
After some sleep last night, I took a look at the upgrade I did and everything looks right. I still can't figure out why when I click on the facebook connect, nothing happens.
anyone have any ideas? |

but then again, I have bigger issues if you havent noticed ;) |
okay, i got it to bring up the facebook login window.
but after i input the necessary information, nothing happens. it just reloads the fblogin.php page. i actually had that problem in the very beginning and it was a php4 issue. since then i did upgrade to php5 as it is now, but still no joy. |

[QUOTE=TomJames;1683863]Indeed, try with different browsers (and pages), for example on mine it works perfectly with Firefox but with IE and Opera nothing happens unless you navigate to another page, for example Calendar.
I am having sort of the Same issue everything was working yesterday till I did the upgrade this morning. I cannot get the pop up from my main page where I am running CMPS, but if I got the the forum or calendar or register It will open the popup... anyone having this same issue?? |
I had to recheck the templates for the 1.1.1 upgrade. Something minor has changed from 1.1.0 to 1.1.1 and at first all I did was re-upload the files and import the XML and then the pop up wouldn't work on any page at all. I then checked the template edits and searched for what was already there and just copied them over. Something changed in the edits that now allows the popup on all pages but without the edits causes it not to display on any page.

So far I have this running on a forum in a forums directory with none of the issues that have been reported. I still haven't gone in and try to add the connect links to the vBadvanced pages, but that's only a matter of adding some lines of code another style.
The only thing I am noticing is there doesn't appear to be any difference in my User CP where I believe there's supposed to be something different for FaceBook users in the Change Email and Password setting. Is that right, or is that just a background change in effect? It could be that because I use the GT Private Message enhancements its not showing. That mod generates different templates for the USECP_SHELL, but normally I can make the same edits to those templates with no problems. Oh, there does appear to be a javascript error on the Arcade page even before you try to login. 'xdChannelUrl' is null or not an object I've also noted that in FireFox, logging out of one site or the other tries to redirect you to the home page of your forum where you end up at http://www.cogonline.net/fblogin.php. You can't navigate to the homepage at all without being taken here, unless you close FireFox and reopen it. Other then that, nothing real egregious for a BETA. |
This is definetly getting closer to completion... keep it up
|
Those who are upgrading from 1.1.0 to 1.1.1 please don't forget to modify a template:
Edit Template - footer Find: FB.init("$vboptions[fbconnect_apikey]", "$fbconnect_xd_receiver"); Replace With: FB.init("$vboptions[fbconnect_apikey]", "$vboptions[fbconnect_xd_receiver]"); |
Excellent mod  Installed.

This mod is very interesting.
When you login through Facebook and create a username for yourself, what will it set as the password? I can login through facebook later, but if I want to login through the forums own login form, it won't (obviously) accept the password used to login through facebook. What happens to the people who register through FB? Are they forever offlimits to their username through the native login form? |

Oh damn, this isn't working on my VBAdvanced pages.
Works perfectly on everything in my VB folder however. Any ideas? |
I'm so on the fence on this lol
The only thing stopping me is having users who register via Facebook being required to use their Facebook login from that point on. Perhaps if they could choose a password at the time of registration, that would give them the choice of the native login if they so choose. |
