download the zip...
unzip..
upload the contents of the "upload" folder to your forum, it will place the appropriate files in the correct places..
now from the Admin Control Panel > Plugins & Products > Manage Products > Add/Import Product and browse to the product-yet_another_award_system-3.8.2.xml file..

I can't find the "Award System" to make up the awards.

I'm not even sure where the "AdminCP" is... I'm in my control panel... but the only place I see anything with Award System is under vBulletin Options.

What am I missing??

Thanks for your help in advance!!!

If you're seeing vBulletin Options, you're in AdminCP. ;)

awards.php is the file that allows you to request an award. You should also see a catergory called "Awards System" on the left side of the screen in AdminCP. This allows you to create awards that can be requested.

I've rated this mod as EXCELLENT.

May I make a suggestion?
Currently, if you award the same medal to the same user multiple times, it will display the medal images multiple times. Is it possible to make it to display the medal only once, and under that medal, you can state awarded x number of times, and list the award reason each time...

Something like this on the thread display file and the user profile page:
http://www.photozo.com/forum/showpos...70&postcount=7

I have a question about this mod.
Could this mod award a medal automatically, when a user is registered on the board, for 1 year?

I just installed this, pretty nice. Could use an update, but runs fine.

However, it doesn't do what you're asking. I'm sure it could be made to do that though.

This was posted a while ago, but others (I did), might have the same question.

You have to do a search for the phrase you want to edit. The links in the control panel don't work. So open the Phrases and languages section, put in some matching text and search. It'll return what you want to change, then click edit.

Hay great mod. i am thinking of using it. but what does "Re-usable Code" mean?

Does it mean:
1. I can change the name of the mod and then make it my own. I.E. "118 Awards System"
2. I don't have to put credits/links to you "The Maker/Developer".

Can some one explain it to me please?

1. No. and 2. No.

You can not take this modification and claim it's yours when it isn't. To even think you could do so is just plain wrong.

What you CAN do is use snippets of the code to develop your own modification.

mabersoft 06-28-2009 12:01 PM

are. i see. so what "statement" = "You can edit this mod & redistribute as you own" but you must add a link or something saying "Source from ==="

or is there not one for this.

pmflav1 06-28-2009 12:18 PM

Never mind fixed.
Deleted the last:

From the bottom of awards_viewaward

You can not use this modification and claim it as your own. Period.

Angry_Sun 07-01-2009 04:03 AM

I installed the award mod. It's pretty awesome! Only problems I am having are 2 things:

1- Why is it showing 2 of each award in my posts? Take a look: Link

2- Can I remove the "My Awards" from the profile area? Or at least move it to the end?

Biker_GA 07-01-2009 12:46 PM

If you're showing two awards in the postbit, check the postbit template and make sure the edit was done exactly as shown.

No need to show awards in the profile area at all. Only place I show 'em on my site is in the postbit.

Angry_Sun 07-01-2009 05:41 PM

Well could you tell me how to move the profile "Awards" tab to the very end?

Biker_GA 07-02-2009 12:55 AM

It's all in the placement within the template. Find where the code for the last tab ends, then place the awards code after that.

Angry_Sun 07-02-2009 01:40 AM

I just want to know which template...

trotskid 07-02-2009 07:42 AM

Hi. It´s possible hide or remove the "Recipient username" box in the award request form?

When "Recipient username" box is blank doesn´t allow you to complete the form.

PS: very useful addon. Thanks.

Angry_Sun 07-03-2009 06:31 PM

Can I get some support here? I like this mod, but if I can't get 2 little questions asked, I will be forced to uninstall it.

1. Which template can I edit to set the "My Awards" profile tab so it's not the first one, maybe like the 3rd or 4th.

2. Where are the permissions to request awards? Right now only admins can do it. And when I [an admin] go to do it, I fill out the forum, and it says error, please contact an admin.

So, at least help me answer #1, please.

Biker_GA 07-03-2009 07:42 PM

1. memberinfo_block_myawards (It wasn't THAT difficult to find.)
2. Have you checked your permissions via Usergroups?

If you remove the recipient username, how do you know who the award is requested for?

Did you even check the award settings? There's an option to move the award tab to the right. Go to vBulletin Options, Award System Settings. No need to modify templates at all.

flasher33 07-04-2009 12:35 AM

Hi there
thanx for this grate hack.
I was wondering if it is possible to add the award manually in the post bit ??
I have a postbit_legacy layout like this:
1st post is horizontal and the rest are vertical and it shows like this

http://www.hailzone.net/upload/uploa...a81351a76f.jpg

as you see it made a large gap if put manually it will show only in the in the postbit reply area.

Deege 07-04-2009 08:14 PM

All is fine except one thing, when I go to awards.php

I get a blank page with this:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare construct_depth_mark() (previously declared in MYURL/board/awards.php:98) in MYURL/board/includes/adminfunctions.php on line 1832

anyone know how to fix this :S

rrudeboy 07-13-2009 06:08 PM

my forum was hacked... and i can't for the life of me remember where i made a change so the shield is next to the username.

tks.

Biker_GA 07-14-2009 12:55 AM

postibt or postbit_legacy?

rrudeboy 07-14-2009 01:01 AM

postbit_legacy is what i am using..

Biker_GA 07-14-2009 03:10 AM

That's where you make the change then.

rrudeboy 07-14-2009 03:23 AM

i understand that :} but so far i can not locate it....

Biker_GA 07-14-2009 09:31 AM

What? The template?

AdminCP -> Styles and Templates -> Style Manager

Edit the template for each style that you use.

rrudeboy 07-14-2009 10:51 AM

i know where the template is :}

LeQatar 07-14-2009 03:46 PM

Hello,

I have a problem regarding this plugin. When I have a large amount of awards, all of them are shown in one page, which takes time to download the page. Is there any option to let some amount of awards in one page and the other in the next pages ?

The page I mean is this:
http://localhost/vb/awards.php

Thanks ..

emerchan 07-14-2009 06:13 PM

Hi there, I installed it as I should (that means uploaded and installed the script and uploaded the upload-folder...)

But no "Award manager" in my admin list, why's that?
I use VB 3.8.2, maybe some other mod is in the way? Any know mods that ++++s with this?

Thanks for any answer : )

rrudeboy 07-14-2009 07:18 PM

well... i've looked hig & low, and at one point before the hack i found it but so far i can not find it in postbit_legacy, postbit and/or postbit _first (last one adds a top 10 poster list to the main forum index)

rrudeboy 07-15-2009 12:54 AM

how can i not find the award reference in any of the postbit's... this is wild.

Biker_GA 07-15-2009 08:36 AM

I'll dig around. I found the template where the phrase is defined/called, but you're correct, it's not in the postbit template. I suspect it's a .php file and it's called to be placed at the hook at the end of the postbit template.

rrudeboy 07-15-2009 11:15 AM

i'm baffled (especially since i got it working a while back :(

Jah-Hools 07-15-2009 11:26 AM

Can this be applied to just one forum?
