Some of my members are not happy that if a thread gets cleaned up where they have posted several times, they get notified about every post that gets deleted.

Is there any way to change this so they get one notification per thread?

Great Mod. Thank You For Sharing It.:up::up:

Very Useful. Works Fine on vB373 PL1.

Nominated For Mod Of The Month. ;)

My Best Regards.

One Idea: Would be Nice if you can Set an Option to Not Send PMs to Specified Usergroups; I think in case of Banned SPAMMERS is a Waste of PMs to Send them a PM notifying them about SPAM Threads/Posts Deleted, and if they've posted too many Posts/Threads then one PM per Thread/Post would be a Unnecessary Server Load. ;)

Other Idea: If a Thread/Post is Deleted then perhaps wouldn't be Necessary to Send a PM to the User if that Post/Thread is Moved; perhaps would be nice to Provide a Yes/No Option on the Mod's Options for Admins to decide if they wish to Send PMs in this Cases. ;)

My Best Regards.

:)

Terminot 02-07-2009 03:46 PM

Is this going to be ported for 3.8?

TheInsaneManiac 02-07-2009 10:27 PM

Where's the option to apply a message signature? I liked saying "If you feel this action should not have been taken please reply back and explain why, otherwise do not reply to this message.

Anyone can help me answer this question :( ?

KenDude 03-01-2009 06:20 PM

I just installed this on 3.8.1 and went and moved a test users topic to another forum. I then logged on as the test user and expected to see a PM waiting but nothing. ???

I left the age cut-off box blank, so I'll fill in 30 days and try again and see what happens...

Yep that seems to have fixed it, although I notice if you move it to a forum the member doesn't have access to it doesn't give them the name of the destination forum (which is good) but it just leave it blank, perhaps it should say "forum you do not have access to" or something like that.

Code:

Got this error. Worked fine with our forum, but once we did real big forum cleaning, started to appear. vB3.8.1. Can not close/move/delete some threads.

jawatkin 04-21-2009 12:02 PM

I've been using it on 3.8.x for some time and couldn't figure out why the quick edit on my forum seemed to not be working.

Basically, you edit a post, click save and you get an infinite spinny. But if you reload the page, it actually DID save to the database and post is modified.

Removed the hack and quick edit works as it is supposed to....

Azzer007 06-18-2009 08:24 AM

Would really love a working copy of this for 3.8.x... users of my forum really hate having posts deleted/unapproved without being notified of it, and manually sending a PM out for every minor bit of moderating is too much.

SEW810 07-03-2009 02:39 AM

Is there any way to include the original post to the MP when a moderator edits/deletes a user's post?

That would be cool.

Regards.

Hornstar 08-22-2009 09:33 PM

are there any known bugs for this?

mme42 08-26-2009 04:25 PM

Delphi (or anybody else for that matter),

Is there any way to display more of the post content (or perhaps all of it) in the case of deleting or moving posts?

For instance, I'm using only the 'deleted' and 'moved' pms for both threads and posts. When a post is deleted, it gives the 'Post ID' which seems to just be the first line or so many characters of the post. Is there a way I can change this so that it displays the whole post or at least more of the post? It would also be beneficial to display this info in QUOTE tags. This way the user knows exactly what is deleted or moved. In the cases of large threads where the user has posted more than once, it makes it tough for them to know exactly which post was deleted and why (besides the reason given by the moderator of course) without being able to see their post. I've taken a quick look through the uploaded php files and the individual plug-ins but it wasn't immediately clear how I could change this. Any advice?

Also, another thing I noticed --which combined with the above problem could make me have to disable this product--- was the trouble it causes when soft-deleting posts after they've been soft-deleted. It may not be trouble for everybody, but it doesn't seem to mesh with our system. We let our mods and supermods soft-delete posts, but they can't perm-delete. We have an admin look over the soft-deleted posts to make sure that all deletes have a valid reason, then that admin perm deletes all of the posts.

The problem is that an additional PM is sent when the admin perm deletes in a certain way. So users are getting two deletion notices for the same post. It happens when the admin looks through all soft-deleted post via UserCP, ticks the boxes for the posts, and selects 'delete posts' then selects 'perm delete'. Apparently, vB sees this as a regular delete first (hence the extra PM) then perm deletes it afterward. So, the only way that we can get around this is by clicking 'manage' for each post and selecting 'perm delete'. But, this method is inefficient because the admin must do this for each post rather than select all posts at once to perm delete. We have the option for PMs on perm delete turned off by the way.

I thought you might want to know about at least the perm delete thing for future versions, but if you have any advice on how I can quote more of the post for deleted posts, I'd appreciate it. :D

This working ok on 3.8.3?

brettxw 09-04-2009 07:42 PM

Ok, I'm going to post this even though I see no help has been answered in a while. Running this on 3.8.3 works fine until you try to exclude forums with their ID. Then it starts causing problems. Any fix for that?

That's another bug that I've found. For me, the exclude forums option only works for deleting items. If I move something from a section that is supposed to be excluded, it still sends a PM.

alkotla 09-10-2009 04:42 PM

it dose not work with me...

nothing happend, Just nothing

my vb is 3.8.4

help me

bigcurt 09-28-2009 11:21 PM

This would be very nice to have, if there were no bugs. Either way, thanks for it.

AdminCP > Languages & Phrases > Phrase Manager > Scroll down to "modpm" in the Phrase Type dropdown.

Jah-Hools 12-02-2009 04:00 PM

I would like to send a pre defined message like "no sales posts allowed here"

and have 2 options options when deleting a post -

1) SPECIAL DELETE: to delete and send that message - "no sales posts allowed here thank you"

or

2) NORMAL DELETE: to delete threads and posts for other reasons and not send that message..

Can I use this mod for that?

SwissPegasus 01-05-2010 05:16 PM

I used in vb 3.6 x this version: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=115677

now i use vb 3.8, so i deinstal the old one and installed yours on our test forum.

I realy miss some things, and see your code must be a adapt of the hack i used before.
There was a signature text, wich was added in each pn, but the setting is missing.

in the product file, the setting part (var type etc) is missing, the description and title phrase exists

In your php files in the include section u use this signature, but the setting variable u call is fro the hack you can see in the link above.

can u pleas help me and maybe correct this bugs?

or do i something wrong?
