Silly question - many of the moods show up as text in the drop-down menu. It's because the relevant .gif don't exist (at least not in the download package I received). Is there a place to download them in their full capacity?

gettingbetter 05-20-2008 09:38 PM

Nevermind - I just didn't upload some icons from another mod related to this one. :)

This edit to the .js fixed the vBAdvanced problem. Thanks!

Could someone please help me with this mod
if you look here you will see that the mood menu is not displayed anywhere on the index page. I do want it to be displayed in the normal place.
If you look at a post you will see the mood icon is there and there is no problem with that.

All I need to know is how can I get it to work properly on the index page so members can choose there mood.

I am thinking that because I am using a custom skin and the forum layout is different thats why it is not working.

Thanks, I hope someone can help

mark|3 05-22-2008 08:47 AM

Is there a way to get this to work in ibproarcade and in photopost?

thanks

Edit the template where your Navbar/Welcome message is and add $vmoods where you want it to appear.

Works fine in ibproarcade http://vmkland.com/forum/arcade.php and photopost http://vmkland.com/gallery/ on my forum. Template edit issue maybe?

Boosted Panda 05-23-2008 07:03 PM

Great Mod I love it!!! Worked like a charm, I did some template modding to mine though.

Also people gosh whats up with some of the attitude in here, this is a free mod for crying out loud.

Britmovie 05-25-2008 06:59 PM

I've had this running for a couple weeks now and it's been great, however as an exclusive Firefox user, I never knew there was a problem:

Quote:

1.1.1 Beta - Monday May 5th
- - - - - - - - - -

- Moved javascript/html to footer to improve load times for IE6/7
I've started getting complaints from our users where page loads are anywhere from 45-55 seconds (dedicated server with 2gb of memory). I didn't take much notice to be fair because I never had a problem and just assumed it was on their end until I was changing another mod and opened IE to view the board as a normal user and WHOA was there a load!

So, after disabling every plugin I have one-by-one to try to find the culprit, all were the same until I turned off this mod and page load went back to normal.

So, long story short, is there any way we can get the .js file to work with IE better? Cacheing technique of some sort or a more user friendly version of JSmin?

Thanks and I look forward to re-enabling this plugin!

-=Sniper=- 05-27-2008 06:20 PM

I would recommend using text only option for now if you have load problems.

The issue (In IE6/7 when using images in the dropdown menu) is to with the fact the user has to download 50+ mood images and has nothing to do with the javascript. Also this should only happen on the first page load, after which the mood images should be cached by the user browser.

With the latest version this is fixed, the images don't start loading until the page has loaded, was tested with another user who had a similar problem.

The other option (for further improvements) is to dynamicly load images in the dropdown menu e.g. detecting when the user is going down in the dropdown menu, which I might have a ago at doing sometime in the future.

That's what I thought too but I'll be damned if it ain't cacheing!

I even added forced cache to .htaccess

Code:

<IfModule mod_expires.c>
ExpiresActive On
ExpiresDefault A300
ExpiresByType image/x-icon A2592000
ExpiresByType application/x-javascript A3600
ExpiresByType text/css A3600
ExpiresByType image/gif A604800
ExpiresByType image/png A604800
ExpiresByType image/jpeg A604800
ExpiresByType text/plain A300
ExpiresByType application/x-shockwave-flash A604800
ExpiresByType video/x-flv A604800
ExpiresByType application/pdf A604800
ExpiresByType text/html A300
</IfModule>

And the page loads are still high... :(

Will try txt version then! Thanks.

[edit to add]
Added this hack with these results in Firefox... IE7 is still near 60sec load times... :(

Oh well!

kylemj 05-29-2008 09:48 AM

works great but amazed icon is not included

Kinneas 05-29-2008 11:06 AM

I have a question.. I noticed that this mod has a problem with working on vBadvanced CMPS if you have your portal on sitename.com but your forums on forums.sitename.com - You get a security problem in Firefox (reported by Firebug) that reads:

Any idea of how to get this to work? I tried all previous vBadvanced fixes listed in the 3.6 thread, but none of them work when using sitename.com (portal) and forums.sitename.com (forums) without producing the quoted error!

If you can offer any pointers, I'd be eternally grateful!

I'm not sure if this will help but I was also having a problem with CMPS and this fixed it for me.

In the vmoods.js file find this line...

Code:

YAHOO.util.Connect.asyncRequest("POST", "ajax.php?do=vmoods_update&securitytoken=" + SECURITYTOKEN + "&vmood=" + target.title, {
On this line add the full path to ajax.php ex: http://www.yoursite.com/forum/ajax.php

Hope this helps :)

skywalker2208 06-05-2008 12:17 AM

Is there way to change the location of the mood on the profile page?

Hey thanks for the heads up...

Unfortunately, this did not work for me.. The stock hack works fine with a subdomain setup on AlienSoup.com, but refuses to on WTF.com which is really throwing me for a loop!

JesterP 06-05-2008 03:05 AM

Hello all,

When this awesome mod is active, I get a "done with errors" in my status bar at the bottom of IE7 when I visit my vbadvanced main page.

When I visit with FF, FF tells me it's dropping a
Code:

</form>
tag. When I view the rendered html source of that page, and go to the line IE says the error is on, it points to the same tag.

I have no errors on any other page with this mod active, it works well everywhere else. And the error goes completely away when deactivate the mood mod.

Where can I find this
Code:

</form>
tag in this mod? I've searched for hours trying to track it down.

Thanks!!

J

TimberFloorAu 06-06-2008 05:53 AM

This mod works fine with VB 3.7.0 standard template.

But soon as we tried it on our own template, all hell broke loose.

We got YahooDom errors,
PHP Code:

<script type="text/javascript" src="clientscript/yui/yahoo-dom-event/yahoo-dom-event.js?v=370"></script>
<
script type="text/javascript" src="clientscript/yui/connection/connection-min.js?v=370"></script>
<
script type="text/javascript"

Not sure what was going on, decided to uninstall. Will keep eye on it, as we have tons of menopausal women who would love it.

Incidentally we use webpoint template from vbskins.

If anyone gets this working on similar template, appreciate a PM

Thanks

Ozzy

Doesn't work. Like someone else mentioned, the list drops down but it won't let me select any of the moods.

Just to let you guys know the "Amazed" mood is not in the images folder so you guys should remove it via the AdminCP. Also there are some moods in the images folder that are not in the AdminCP

Anyone have any clue where I can get more mood images?
