As far as removing the file, the one that you included in the 1.7 package is the this one: mgc_cb_evo1.php Is that not the right one? |
Nope,,the one with 1.7 should be mgc_cb_evo.php..
Do you mind if I have a look ?? Its hard for me to find the problem,,when it works fine for me.. |
Sent you a pm
|
Hey. Thanks. You fixed it. What was it?
|
Let me know how I can donate.
|
The problem is your index is outside of the vb folder..
In your case,,outside the staff folder... I added bburl to the Product : MGC chatbox Evo Admincp >> Plugins & Products >> Plugin Manager >> Global variables of the chatbox,, There I added.. Code:
$forumpath = $vbulletin->options[bburl]; Code:
mgc_cb_evo_unserialize_user_params(); |
Got it. Indeed, I should maybe move the index back inside and rename the forum index page. That's better I guess.
|
Its fine either way...
If its outside,,somethings just need to be coded a little different.. |
Hi,

Try this edit,, Admincp >> Plugins & Products >> Plugin Manager >> Global variables of the chatbox,, Added.. Code:
$forumpath = $vbulletin->options[bburl]; Code:
mgc_cb_evo_unserialize_user_params(); |
The above solution did not work. It still says "loading" on the VBA main page unfortunately :(
Any ideas? |
Loading is not an issue with his hack I don't think. It's usually mod_security, or security token.
|
Is there a possibility of a vbDrupal add-on? I am using the chatbox and my users LOVE it, and now I am adding a vbDrupal landing page to my site would love to be able to have the chatbox included.
EDIT: After fighting with vbDrupal until I was blue in the face, I switched to vbAdvanced. I installed this mod, and ran into some issues. After reading through 14/15 pages, the LAST post you made there had the answer I needed. EVERYTHING is working great on my board now: http://www.mightytitans.com |
This module doesn't work with my cmp_index outside the forum root folder!
Can you help me? |
It does. Did you add it to the admin cp > mgc > display stuff?
If you pm me info, I can troubleshooti. |
I add it in List of the other forum pages but it doesn't work =/
It still says "loading" on the VBA main page unfortunately |
This is not an issue with the plugin. It's an issue with the chat itself. You are posting in the vbadvanced module instead of the chat.

Hi there! I know it has been discussed a couple of times but I couldn't find a solution till yet. The module appears on my CMPS homepage but remains "loading...". When entering a message into the chat box while it says "loading" an error message appears saying something about "security token". Any ideas?`
Thx! |
Ohh, sorry, I forgot: I have vBulletin 3.7.3, CMPS 3.0.1 and the latest MCG for vBAdvanced CMPS (1.7).

Is it possible that you lead me to the post within the specified thread, which actually shows the solution? Thanks a lot! |
I told you the exact answer. "Main chat install" download, open up the install and right there it tells you how to fix. Go there.
|
OK, maybe I'm too stupid but I really don't understand what you're talking about. What you mean with "main chat install"? The installation files themselves ([vB3.6.x-vB3.7.x]MGC_Chatbox_Evo_1.0.0.zip)?
Is it so difficult to post the exact URL where to download the main chat install (if it isn't the ZIP file mentioned above)? Or do we talk around each other and I'm on a totally wrong track? Than I apologize, live with my ignorance and figure it out myself, as soon as I find time for it. Sorry and thanks again! |
Yes, you are too dumb.
|
good evening i wonder if someone could help me, i downloaded this great addon and got it working in the forum, but it doesnt appear in the homepage, ichecked all the settings in the admin panel and its configured correctly as far as i can see, the only thing i can think off is when i preview the module it comes up blank in preview, i do not have these 3 files mentioned earlier in the thread adv_portal_mgc_evo,,adv_portal_mgc_evo_editor,,adv _portal_mgc_cb_evo_box
and also they dont appear in your download, is this correct? Thanks Andy |
It's not calling files. It's calling templates.
This addon is not the full install. Make sure you install the evo chat, then add the module. And read step 1 again. New how to install: 1: Admincp >> MGC Chatbox Evo>> Display and position >> Display on defined pages in a variable set to Yes.. and in the Other pages list,, put adv_index in that box... so type in adv_index in that box. done. |
I have the same issue of the chatbox not appearing on the CPMS homepage, which is one level above my forum URL. Im using VB 3.7.3 PL1; MGC Evo 1.0.0, VBadvanced CPMS 3.0.1. and v1.7 of this module.
The above instructions described with "Adding .." and "after this,," are too vague for me to understand. Please use whole sentences and tell us what steps to perform so that the box appears on the homepage. Yes I have the right "No"/"Yes" combo in the MGC Evo settings :) and have adv_index in the box. Thanks |
i need help as well, i followed the install exactly and its not appearing.
|
If you went step by step and its not working,,the only other thing I can do is have a look..
|
ok I sent you a PM
this add on makes the chatbox show on the portal correct? if not then its working fine. |
Its partly fixed. I got impatient and uninstalled this module as per instructions and then also removed MGC Chatbox evo via its intructions and reinstalled both. Hey presto the box appeared. (for people with the same issue: I was also getting a blank white box on the preview screen of VBa CMPS for this module)
I *think* (not sure) I may have deleted some weird files that were still lingering from a previous MGC Chatbox version in the cleanup after this uninstall so that could have been a problem. I used the uninstall instructions for v1.4 of the previous MGC Chatbox to uninstall it .. but I had used at least ibshoutbox and one other chat mod before that so .. there was some debris from one of them left that must have been messing up the "below navbar" area. Currently the box shows, also doesnt have the "Loading..." issue but when I tpye something in, I get a 404 error on the php file of chatbox. I think there was solution for that somewhere in this thread.. Ill go hunting. stangger5 Im sorry for my last post sounding a little .. impatient. Its just that often when people who know the software very well post instructions on what to do, they are missing some little important details that are completely obvious for themselves but not to a newbie :). |

I tried the latest MGC chatbox EVO - with Avatars but haven't managed to get them to display yet. http://www.ozsource.org/portal.php |
Hi there. Hope you get a chance to update it for the latest chatbox. BTW, hope you got the paypal donation.
|
Thanks for the donation Giray !!
No need to upgrade.. It works fine with MGC Chatbox Evo Version: 1.1.0 If you have any problems with it just saying Loading,,,theres a new step in the first post.. Step number 3.. Have a look at the demo site.. Avatars are working fine.. |
Almost... Works fine now, thanks, but for the avatars, I just get the question mark.
|
Do you see avatars in the forum ??
