Thanks for your reply but still it seems that generally the goldbrick cannot apply on the Vba CMPS, it is always displayed as link only in contrary with the forumhome where everything is ok.
Do I have to modify something else like the adv_portal_newsbits_attach-thumb and or inline????
Or act anywhere else???

Thank you.

melbo 01-21-2008 03:51 AM

Ok, I had posted earlier and I tracked down one of my errors and disabled some old counter that seemed to be in the way.

php 5 and now am getting this error when I import the .xml
Code:

Warning: require(/goldbrick/plugins/global_setup_complete.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /global.php(971) : eval()'d code on line 1

Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/********l/public_html/forum/goldbrick/plugins/global_setup_complete.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/*********/public_html/forum/global.php(971) : eval()'d code on line 1

**** are mine
Can't seem to find anyone else here with this error so I know it's a problem of mine.
Any advice?

thanks

nix 01-21-2008 04:14 AM

texasasl 01-21-2008 10:31 AM

Sorry again is there anyway somebody tell me how goldbrick is working on vbadvanced or is not working at all ????
Thank you in advance.

MaxiMal 01-21-2008 10:58 AM

:Judge: 01-21-2008 02:24 PM

Didn't work for me, I added everything then like only half the site would show.

No errors just blank pages for the vBA Index, User Profiles and New Thread. Those pages that I noticed.

I turned GB off still same thing, I then uninstalled it from products now things are working again as for the site.

what issue is/could the XML causing?

nix 01-21-2008 03:49 PM

for vba i just noticed I forgot to add something :)

I'll update it tonight or tomorrow. I'm traveling today.

Nephalim 01-22-2008 02:02 PM

hi i have this working with my G.A.R.S. addition.but sometime the videos or mp3s do not show.we have to go and edit the post dayly to get the media to show.if we donot there is no video or mp3

jdbnsnobal.net 01-24-2008 01:43 AM

I apologize if this has been discussed already, I read through many of the pages but not all. Here are my site's specs:
php 5.2.1
* Integrated with vBulletin 3.6.8
* Hosted
* Server's OS system=Linux
* Server's php=5.2.1 and mysql=5.0.45-community
* web server=Apache v1.3.37

I have very much enjoyed some of the features of goldbrick but am having a few problems. When goldbrick is enabled I get a fatal error when linking to certain threads (which contain animated gif's). The error regards memory allocation in the public_html/forums/class/includes/class_goldbrick.php line 720 (this lines reads: public function deliver($url, $options) ). Only when I disable goldbrick does this thread open. I also cannot get any video other than googlevid or youtube to function. Lastly, since I have installed GB, all imageshack thumbnail images posted in our forums do not function (this is probably my chief concern), the thumbnails open a new window displaying on the thumbnail. I can open .png, .jpg, .mp3 files with no probelms provided they are not loaded by image shack. Any ideas on how I can remedy these issues. BTW-Even when uninstalled, the imageshack pics did not return to their previous functionality, and I have thousands of pics affected by this problem. Thanks in advance!!!

Jon

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting ')' in /www/htdocs/my/website/goldbrick/plugins/bbcode_create.php on line 53

Yes PHP4.4.7 .. Whats up with this bbcode_create.php ?? No way to solve this?

I will install PHP 5 this night =)

SVTCobraLTD 01-24-2008 04:24 PM

This looks great, I should be installing soon. But maybe you can branch out and make a video gallery intergrated with this. This way members can upload their videos or atleast show them off in their section. Just an idea.

Hi Mr Nix...
Although I still don't understand where to center my player in the thread, can I have a customized-logolized flash player?

;)

nix 01-25-2008 12:22 AM

You can do that with the flash player now.

Dark Cynicus! 01-25-2008 12:25 AM

Why u don't call this hack; GoldBrick for PHP5 :D

texasasl 01-25-2008 07:35 PM

nix sorry I did not understand your reply above regarding the vbadvanced. In previous post you told that it was something you had to fix with that. As I have mentioned I am running php 5.2.x

Meghwar 01-25-2008 11:58 PM

Hi

I have php 5.x

1. I Upload the contents of the "upload" folder
2. Import the product_goldbrick.xml file
3. Set up Usergroup Permissions
4. Set up Forum Permissions
5. Set up Goldbrick Options

But the MSG bellow comes on my Forum !

So i had to disable the product and ask here for support.

A quick question.

I have already got passive vid plugin running and most of the video links are just urls as such. If I uninstall the passive vid plugin and install this mod, will the already linked videos show up?

nix 01-26-2008 10:58 PM

<font size="1">Goldbrick Version 1.5:
- Fixed Vbadvanced integration
- Fixed extensions permissions checking
- Added pickup of old [media] tags
- More code changes for later features</font>

iogames 01-26-2008 11:22 PM

1.5 I will install right now!

Thanks Mr Nix

iogames 01-26-2008 11:23 PM

Well I set to NO the last Option: Disable the Goldbrick Media in Quote Tags
it seems to clash with Zoint tags I guess :confused:

nix 01-27-2008 12:07 AM

sorry about that. Re-download the zip file and just upload the contents of the upload folder. No need to import the xml file.

Redownloaded and it works now.still wonder why it only works sometimes in G.A.R.S. when it works we have to edit the post but we do nothing just click edit post and then save it and it works for awhile.then it stops displaying the mp3 player and video.yes we set the goldbrick options in the thread.nice mod though:D

Nephalim 01-27-2008 01:25 AM

Oh no!i take that back.now nothing works!even the old media that was on the site does not show.what happened?

Nephalim 01-27-2008 01:29 AM

this is too weird.one minute we cant see it.then once again we click edit button and save then it shows again:confused:

nix 01-27-2008 02:04 AM

Jenkins 01-27-2008 02:22 AM

mine does that sometimes it's like it doesn't parse the tags until you edit the post or quote the post.

Jurhum 01-27-2008 04:25 AM

I tried this on my test forum. However, there seems to be a problem with arabic characters. I tried a youtube linke with an arabic title but it doesnt display the correct characters. Any idea what might cause this?

everything else seems to be working ok.
