Hi,

Great mod, fitted flawless into my site.

My only niggle is the section that appears on the postbit_legacy (I think). The part that on a post contains the users name, avatar, title etc...

Is there anyway to remove the border around the awards bit on this, I can't find any border tags for it so don't know how it is produced?

Thanks

lostgirl815 08-24-2007 01:48 AM

I managed to remove it but don't remember what it was called - but I think it's the same thing as is around attached images, which I also removed (if that helps).

For the person whose awards weren't showing up - did you add the code to all the styles?

insidedesign 08-28-2007 04:43 PM

Does anyone know how to display User Awards with the Zoints Local Profile MOD?

Found it, check it out:

The awards are being displayed in a frameset tag with legend. I removed it fine on my forum and looks cleaner.

scdurwood 08-31-2007 12:13 PM

Does this only show one instance of the award on postbit if an user has been given the award multiple times?

mm mods 2k6 08-31-2007 09:13 PM

nominated 4 MOTM :)

SliceofLife 09-01-2007 10:52 AM

I followed all of the steps outlined in the install and edited all templates, and I'm not actually seeing ANY new menu in my admincp for 'Awards'?

SliceofLife 09-02-2007 02:59 AM

Maybe the fact that I'm running 3.6.8 and this is for 3.6.5 is the problem. I will have to uninstall in the meantime. When will this be working for 3.6.8?

EvilArcana 09-04-2007 03:49 PM

I'm running 3.6.8 as well and would like confirmation of this mod working in 3.6.8 before I proceed with install...I'm VERY interested in this mod. Thanks!

Kiint 09-04-2007 04:09 PM

yep, works fine on 3.6.8, runs on my site with no problem at all

Yuppers...soon as you posted that I downloaded and installed, and it works like a champ...

Sliceoflife...you may have to refresh your admincp menu frame in order to see the awards system options. Thats what I had to do...Or if you just log off and log back into the admincp.

Of to make and award some awards

LilSniper 09-04-2007 08:40 PM

I would appreciate some assistance from any experienced users of this hack.

The "Award System" category shows up in the Admin CP and is fully functional. I was able to create awards as desired, and award them to other members. Furthermore, the /awards.php page functions great.

However, the awards do not show up in people's profiles, nor does it show up under their names in posts.

How can I get it to show up in people's profiles and under their posts?

Thanks.

I did :( It's still not working. I haven't yet uninstalled it because I'm hoping someone will be able to help me. ? I'm happy to know that it's working on 3.6.8.

Did you upload all the files to the right place and make all the template edits? If you did and its not working then its beyond me, you'll have to request support or something. I'm still fairly new to vB

Hi, At present when an award is given it will show at position number 2. Is it possible, and if so how - to make it show up at position number 1?

Reason being, I have this vast amount of space there, and it would be very useful to show the awards in that section. Im really hoping there is a way of doing this that someone knows.

Many Thanks

Dave

Search your postbit template, and dump the code into this column:
<td width="100%">&nbsp;</td>

You should get something that looks like this:

techenigma 09-07-2007 12:47 AM

edit: Thanks to Toucan42, I found the frameset tag and all, I have the box and assorted text removed. Thanks for the help there.

For anyone wondering how to remove the awards showcase box in your post pit do the following:

Quote:

- Go into your style/template manager
- Into the style you have the mod installed under
- Open the post_bit legacy template.
Remove the <fieldset> and <legend> tags also be sure to remove their closing tags as well i.e </fieldset> and </legend>

This will remove the box around the awards in your post bit.
If you want to remove the space in between the awards do the following:

Quote:

Go into your style/template manager
Into the style where the mod is installed
Open the Yet Another Awards System Templates tab
Open the Awards bit template
Remove the following at the very end of the code: &nbsp;
Now all the awards will be right next to each other.
I still need to figure how to get it to wrap after 5 awards though, anyone can help?

Thanks for that!

techenigma 09-07-2007 07:48 PM

I shoot down one problem and another comes up... or rather several.

1. Look at this page: SOuthwest Regulators notice how the two full lines of ribbons are not spaced at all (which is good) but the third one with only two ribbons has a gap between it and the others. How do I remove that gap? I've looked through my code searching for a rogue &nbsp; tag or something and nothing... what is causing this?

2. It only wraps after 5 ribbons in the postbit_legacy, not in the new style horizontal postbit. How can I have it wrap after 5 ribbons in the new post bit?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Can you reward usergroups with a badge?

How do you delete badges/awards from users? I accidentally gave the same user the same award twice and now it shows. But I can't delete them.

lostgirl815 09-09-2007 03:02 AM

Click on Give Award, (the award you duplicated), and scroll down - there's a Remove Award below that. :)

And I think I may have solved the table-stretching and clutter problem by moving them to their own separate table below the regualr part of the postbit, although, I'm not a coder and I have no idea if this has any repercussions. (I guess I'll see. It's on a test style for now.)

soulweaver 09-09-2007 08:58 PM

How do I get the awards to show up in the postbit? The installer didn't work.

lostgirl815 09-09-2007 09:02 PM

You have to edit the postbit template - it's in the readme.txt I think.

after upgrading from vb 3.6.3 to 3.6.8

i got this error when viewing profiles of members who got an award.

Quote:

Warning: mysql_num_rows(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /member.php(839) : eval()'d code (Zeile 37)
after disabling the yass the error disappears.

Edit:
If someone spots the same error und you use mysquli, just search the plugin YASS - member complete

and change line
$total_awards = mysql_num_rows($alluserawards); in
$total_awards = mysqli_num_rows($alluserawards);

thats just the number of total awards. it wont be displayd anymore in the member profile, but you get rid of the annoying error.

lasto 09-30-2007 05:07 PM

does this work on 3.6.8 ???

IR15H 10-02-2007 05:49 PM

If anyone gets an error of;

PHP Code:

Warningmysql_insert_id() [function.mysql-insert-id]: A link to the server could not be established in /admincp/award.php on line 581

when trying to give a user an award, like I was, then open your config.php (FORUM ROOT/includes/config.php) file and change the database type ($config['Database']['dbtype'] = ''; ), from mysqli to just mysql. That did the trick for me, so hopefully if others are having the same problem it'll work for them too :).

OnyxChase 10-03-2007 01:14 AM

Is there any way to say give medals automatically? Say if someone posts 100 posts then they get an automatic medal?

I am trying to work out whether YAAS will work for my application. I am looking for a mod that will let our members nominate a photo, or thread, for an award -- and then have the community vote for their favorite. Basic on that vote, we will make awards, and issue both virtual and physical awards (we will send something).

Can I do this with YAAS, or another vBulletin mod?

Thanks!

I'm running it on 3.6.8 absolutely fine, you may need to check your installation ensuring all the files uploaded correctly.

bmwusa 10-17-2007 02:39 PM

yup it is working perfect.... :) vbulletin 3.6.8 :)

just one thing i couldnt find this:

HTML Code:

<td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="memberlist.php$session[sessionurl_q]">$vbphrase[members_list]</a></td>
on the navbar

so idont know where this goes...

HTML Code:

<!-- show awards -->
                <td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="awards.php$session[sessionurl_q]">$vbphrase[award]</a></td>
<!-- /show awards -->

my navbar look like this:

HTML Code:

<!--
function log_out()
{
        ht = document.getElementsByTagName("html");
        ht[0].style.filter = "progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.BasicImage(grayscale=1)";

        }
        else
        {
                ht[0].style.filter = "";
                return false;
        }
}
//-->
