Would it be possible to install this more than once on the same database, to do different things?

One install doing reviews.

And another just listing information ? in the same format?

No because tables from 2nd use will replace tables of 1st use. Except if (in your own risk) modify the code.

ibuddy 01-23-2007 10:35 PM

All Im trying to find out is how the heck to have this same format but on other pages....so export it to other php pages?

Been Told 01-24-2007 04:39 PM

I'd installed this and played around with it a little. But having seen the kind of support I'm likely to get if (when) I run into trouble, I'm gonna look for something else. *clicks uninstall*

popowich 01-24-2007 04:52 PM

Does this mod have RSS support?

I mean can people pull a feed of the articles as my members create them?

I'd like this both for the RSS, and so I can have my VB start a new thread when there is a new article.

Gee guys lighten up. She's providing support on her forum where she stats in the opening post she will provide it.

Doing a nice job of supporting it too as far as I can tell...

bidouilleur 01-26-2007 11:03 AM

I agree on that... she supports well and quick, 2 versions of the paid version in 48 hours to improve and solve several parts.... can't say I saw support for scripts this quick everywhere

Ahsin1 01-26-2007 09:42 PM

How can i change the back ground colour check the pictures blow

Rakehel 01-26-2007 09:51 PM

Maria has been quick to release updates correcting different issues. She has also been open-minded about suggested changes.

Attitude5ire 01-27-2007 04:21 PM

Yep she is very prompt with her support and help..

Demo in my site has the commercial version and not the free one. In my commercial versions I've added a third party (commercial) editor to avoid problems with vb editor. It can upload not only images but flash, audio and video in the article body. Much more it has shared gallery to choose ready files.

I'm having a problem (not bug) and still haven't decide how to solve it. What editor to include in free version. Finally the author of the editor that I'm using in the commercial version didn't gave me authorization (even if I was to pay for it) to include even a part of his editor in a free script. From the other side I don't like to use vb editor as it brought many problems and I didn't got support from them, even here.

All other improvments for the free version are ready.

Where you found this as bug? If you've cmod correctly the directories, photos are uploading normally.

hi

this works really wonderfully especially if you put in anymedia player
that way people can also use it to post videos and it kinda becomes like a video portal thingie too

i was just wondering is it possible to install 2 instances of this mod side by side?
So that I can use one purely for articles
and the other I would like to use for media

Thanks
aku

Hello aku,

Sorry but I can't add this function because it is already in my commercial version (audio & video, plus special editor which supports all media types included flash files). Finally i dont believe that $27.50 is a big amount.

As for the other you need to make a lot of modifications to use it twice in your site.

Been Told 01-29-2007 09:10 PM

I have to say, in spite of what I said before... I had a chance to try the commercial version, which from my testing is bug-free (well nothing is truly bug-free, but I didn't find any problems or errors).
And it completely changed my mind.
To me, the free version has a lot of potential and in some scenarios it's just what you need, but the commercial version is a really outstanding piece of work.
It does what it should, it works very well and I'm very glad I got the commercial version. Just blows you away!

Nominating this for mod of the month.

1.- Related articles are articles belonging to the same category but NOT to the same author.
2.- Please not as you'll confuse the users. I dont know what bug you found in navbar but for the title if you mean that allows empty titles to be saved I've corrected it and it will be on the next upgrade.

fishhub 01-31-2007 03:48 PM

does this work well on 3.5.4? THAnks

NeRilkA 01-31-2007 07:49 PM

Thanks for your answer

i'm really sorry i didn't want to confuse your users :(
for the title you're right,
for the navbar it's just the link did not appear in the navbar in forum pages, only in vbarticles.php so i put the phrase vbarticles_navbar in Global and now it works.

I saw that someone else had the same error

thanks again for your work

I've corrected it also:-)) Really thanks for your comments. I had no any bad thought when saying "to confuse the users".

I installed this mod on my test forum to see how it looks and functions along with vbMates. It installed wonderfully so is the vbMates but i found just one problem with vbArticles. It doesn't wrap itself inside my portal. I'm using MKportal as frontend for my forum. I'm trying to figure out why vbMates wrapped itself beautifully inside MKPortal though. This is what happened: whilst vbMates inherited the header that my portal and forum shares, vbArticles still uses the already reverted vb header and refuses to wrap inside the portal. It opens outside.

I hope to buy the commercial version but i still want to know if it can display correctly inside the portal just like vbmates.

regards,
Afterglow

Strange. I'm using exactly the same code for templating headers and main table. Before buying the commercial version wait a couple of day till the upgrade of free version, in which among the others I've give to admin a switch to turn of my special table's headers with standard style headers.

First check something that made me lost a whole day thinking that it was bug in my code. From your admincp check your PHP info. See what value has upload_max_size . If you see something like was mine (2MB) you can shoot your hosting provider:)

But before it check that directories:
/photos
/tmp
/thumbs (under photos)
are cmod 777

I just noticed... sound file?? But free version supports only upload for images and not audio and video.

I have the commercial version. and I looked in phpinfo and have 34mb up_load_max size.

xman_79 02-01-2007 10:11 PM

You can solve this problem please ?
http://www.madebymary.com/forums/vba...&articleid=500

If the number of the article dosen't exist , it is a problem .

CSS59 02-02-2007 02:34 AM

wow how cool, and your site is sweet

MaryTheG(r)eek 02-07-2007 05:04 PM

This version contains all known bugs fixed plus many requested new features.

xman_79 02-07-2007 05:53 PM

Hello .
There are still some programing problems in this script .

Please take a look at the screenshots.

If the article's number isn't real , a page full of erronated database will appear .
If some body spells the adress incorrectly , a redirect page will appear with an ''vbarticles_no_article' (this phrase doesn't exist) .

Cane some body solve this problem ?

Thanks .

What do you mean by saying "if article's number isn't real"? That someone instead to click a link, he is typing by hand an article's number on the browser's bar? If yes, then sorry but this members isn't using your site but he is playing with you site, so a database error to you to know who is playing with you and see his IP is a good way I think. Otherwise there in no way to get this error. All links are working fine getting the right article nbr and you never see an error like this.
And as I can understand from your example with article nbr 200000000, you're also playing with me.
