Well, it is uninstalled for now. I have midterms to take care of.
But I couldn't get it to work on the first try due to an error I received while trying to run the prefixinstall.php file.

Will try later and figure it out later too.

And of course, install later.

And of course, this is handy as I need to create "paid sticky" threads for advertising.

Cheers.

I've installed it on 3.6.5 and it works great, but i have one problem on forumdisplay.
it shows all the icons of the forums (inside every category of my forum) like this:

http://immagini.p2pforum.it/out.php/...adprefixes.png

while it should be like this:

http://immagini.p2pforum.it/out.php/...dprefixes2.png

it's just a little problem but it bothers me. is there anybody that can help me?

Then where do you put them if you don't have the phrases?

NoSyMe 03-27-2007 11:12 PM

OMG! This install is some shit, sry but it is. If you copy the test in ne of your boxes for editing a template it just copying the first line of it. So you make automatically mistakes....

I got Firefix 2.0.5

cdexs 03-29-2007 08:18 AM

very thanx, that 's staff i need !! :)

Ohiosweetheart 03-30-2007 09:51 PM

May I ask, where are the template modification instructions?? I have the list of which templates need editing, but not the edits. They weren't in the text file in the download.

Shazz 03-31-2007 01:32 AM

They are not in the text file. You have to run

3. Open this file with your browser:

http://www.yourdomain.com/forum/admi...fixinstall.php

The template edits are there.

SpanishHarlem 04-06-2007 04:31 AM

Does anyone know how I can do it in the templates when they don't have the phrases. I would really like to do this before my forum move.

TIA

Shazz 04-06-2007 04:46 AM

When what dosen't have what phrases?

SpanishHarlem 04-06-2007 05:07 PM

The templates that we have to edit doesn't have the templates you need to look for. I installed everything as is but when I went to edit templates certain phrases are not showing for me to even put them where they go.

You mean to say that you can not find the search text? where its telling you to do the edits? What I usually do is just search a PIECE of the text and see if it comes up sometimes a LINE "enter" space will throw off the search to. I try making everything on one line or at least no huge amounts of empty spaces.
So basically take say half the line search for that see if it pops up where it should and match as much of the text as you can then do your edit there. Good luck

Does this use queries?

AzzidReign 04-12-2007 10:12 PM

Ok, I've got this installed and working fine...somewhat.

When I delete a post from a "private" forum, I get a white page but the thread still gets deleted. So it's not forwarding me to the proper forum after deleting. I can delete threads in public forums with no problem.

I'm running vBSEO, so I'm thinking there may be some conflict with that and how things forward/rewrite, etc. Anyone know of a fix for this...since I know the author isn't supporting this anymore...sadly enough.

Fixed with the new version of vBSEO.

Red Spider 04-14-2007 08:45 PM

Nice mod, but im not installing - cant be bothered and dont feel happy modding all the vB files

COBRAws 04-16-2007 03:49 AM

IAWBody 04-21-2007 05:07 PM

Man that was fun to install.... :erm:

I got-r-done though. Thanks for this! :D

blankoboy 04-23-2007 05:23 AM

This ranks in my top 5 for all time best vBulletin mods but sadly Mystics no longer updates it. :( The current version requires quite a bit of tweaking to get it working correctly. It would be fantastic if he were to come back and update it to resolve this matter and add the few tweaks that others have introduced.

Even better, of course, would be if Jelsoft officially integrated it into vBulletin itself! :up: ;)

4x4 Mecca 04-28-2007 10:29 PM

I don't know if this is related, but after installing this mod, if I click edit on any post, the quick edit opens fine, but if I "go advanced" i get an "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" error, then if I just click refresh on the error page, the advanced edit loads.
Edit
I found out its the class_dm_threadpost.php edit that does it

Code:

                        $threadinfo['threadprefix'] = unhtmlspecialchars($this->table == 'thread' ? $this->fetch_field('threadprefix') : $this->info['thread']['threadprefix']);
                        if (!empty($threadinfo['threadprefix']) AND $foruminfo['allowprefix'])
                        {
                                $threadinfo['title'] = $this->registry->options['prefixmarkup_start'] . $threadinfo['threadprefix'] . $this->registry->options['prefixmarkup_end'] . $threadinfo['title'];
                        }

I'll search this post for a solution.

DJLy5y 05-02-2007 12:27 AM

Good idea will be add option that admins or mods can only change prefixes or they will have restricted ones only for them. So simple users will be not able to use them. Dunno if that allready exist.

Btw have a problem with the code it says:

Find:
Code:

<td><input type="text" class="bginput" name="title" value="$title" size="50" maxlength="85" tabindex="1" title="$vbphrase[optional]" /></td>
Replace:
Code:

                        <if condition="$show['threadprefix']">
                        <td>$threadprefixes&nbsp;</td>
                        </if>

I have:
Code:

                        <td><input type="text" class="bginput" name="title" value="$title" size="50" maxlength="$vboptions[titlemaxchars]" tabindex="1" title="$vbphrase[optional]" /></td>
Next on is:

Find:
Code:

                        <td class="smallfont" colspan="3">$vbphrase[title]:</td>
                </tr>
                <tr>
                        <td><input type="text" class="bginput" name="subject" value="$subject" size="40" maxlength="85" tabindex="1" /></td>

Change:
Code:

                        <if condition="$show['threadprefix']">
                        <td class="smallfont">$vbphrase[threadprefix]:</td>
                        </if>
                        <td class="smallfont" colspan="<if condition="$show['threadprefix']">2<else />3</if>">$vbphrase[title]:</td>
                </tr>
                <tr>
                        <if condition="$show['threadprefix']">
                        <td>$threadprefixes&nbsp;</td>
                        </if>
                        <td><input type="text" class="bginput" name="subject" value="$subject" size="40" maxlength="85" tabindex="1" /></td>

I have:
Code:

<td class="smallfont" colspan="3">$vbphrase[title]:</td>
                </tr>
                <tr>
                        <td><input type="text" class="bginput" name="subject" value="$subject" size="40" maxlength="$vboptions[titlemaxchars]" tabindex="1" /></td>

In result i get this kind of weard stuff see picture all topics are above the borders this :down:
