Hi Cybernetec,

I will try to explain:

I have RSS feeds (default in 3.6.5)
When I set some feed to 30 minutes the RSS feed (who is a Moderator not admin?) will do nothing with this hack enabled.
When I manual activate all feed then it will work. Thats weird( from the adminCP).
So the problem is in the automatic posting on the forum after a giving time.

When I disable (not remove) your hack in my AdminCP RSS feeds works perfectly.
So its 100% something in your hack.

I hope you understand now?

Hope you can find it. It's a real good hack!

RedGTiVR6 03-28-2007 01:50 PM

I'm trying to use this mod to prevent users with 0 post count from posting in a specific forum.

I'm confused as to how I would go about enabling this?

I've installed the product, and I can see where it's telling me:

-View thread listing in forum
-View thread content in forum
-Create new threads in forum
-Reply to existing threads in forum

But I've gone to the individual forum permissions, and I see nothing about post count.

Am I just completely over looking something?

Sidewindr 03-28-2007 11:24 PM

Any possibility to add a feature to only allow users to post who have been registered longer than x days ??? :)

Valter 04-02-2007 03:47 AM

I have ready version 4.0 with several nice improvements, new functions, bug fixes. I'm sure you'll like it.

But there is a problem with RSS Feeds Robot. It doesn't work when this hack is installed but I don't know why. I don't know how to exclude bots from restrictions. vBulletin have no any conditionals for them yet. I tried several combinations but none of them worked.

Damn robots...

and with many many new feature :)

cant wait longer to get that :)

KEKforce 04-03-2007 09:53 AM

When will 4.0 be released? Any time soon?

Yes, it will be released soon. It need some more testing...

Valter 04-04-2007 10:16 AM

v4.0 - Apr 04. 2007.
-Post count requirements to view attachments, view links/images, and post links/images, moved to Forum Manager (different settings for individual forums possible)
-Quote is now enabled when user has no permissions to view links/images but they are not shown inside quote tags.
-You must not rebuild forum info manually after setting up parameters for all forums ("Global-set" page). This is now done automatically.
-"Links/Images Viewing Permissions" much better hides links/images, now including ones in search results post titles and notification e-mails.
-Added option to hide links/images in signatures
-Fixed bug (vBulletin RSS Feed Robot stops working when post count is required to create threads)
-"Global-set" page improved with new options, list of forums with current settings, quick forum edit links,...
-General code cleanup, optimizations, improvements,...

To upgrade: Import XML, allow overwrite.
You may need to revert hack phrases if any customized.
After installing check your hack settings immediately.
You may need to set some permissions again as few of them are moved to forum manager.

KEKforce 04-04-2007 10:28 AM

GREAT!! I will test it!

Thanx Cybernetec!

Shazz 04-04-2007 11:19 AM

updated thanx cyb

mktrilogy 04-04-2007 11:37 AM

thanks cyb ur codes r always top notch.

Can we integrate the permission to search here?

1. Like u can search certain forums if below no. of post.
2. Thread only or post only search option is via permission (no. of posts)

that would be awesome :)

RedGTiVR6 04-04-2007 11:43 AM

I have a bit of a strange request.

I'm trying to use this to prevent users from being able to click on a forum that's actually a link.

For instance, I'm using vBClassifieds. I've created a link to the classifieds in the forum. I'm trying to find a way to prevent users with 0 posts from posting in there.

Would this mod allow me to do that or would I need to create a user group and do the whole promotion thing?

Mrdby 04-04-2007 12:29 PM

installed...Thanks

Shazz 04-04-2007 12:37 PM

Works good so far :D

nighteyes 04-04-2007 10:21 PM

I still can't get this play nice with the RSS Feed bot built into vBulletin. When its disabled, feeds get posted perfectly. When enabled, nothing gets posted.

streetsweeper 04-05-2007 07:02 PM

Is it possible to overide this (or moderate posts) for certain users that are new but you want to be able to post links etc.?

I have not installed yet to play with it but thought I would ask ahead of time.

shungo 04-05-2007 08:35 PM

Thanks for this update, cyb :)

a1whs.com 04-07-2007 06:12 AM

So how do you upgrade old version to new version 4 ?

aacircle 04-07-2007 06:18 AM

Just go to vBulletin admincp -> Add / Import Produt and import the new .xml file to override the existing. Takes just a few seconds.

I second this. At least I now know why the rss bot is not working. But I need the advanced permissions plugin as well. Would love to see this part fixed. It was mentioned that the new version fixed it. But still not working.

Something doesn't seem to work right. I've attached an image. Clicking on anything indicated with the red items I've circled, brings me to the following link:

Code:

http://www.mysite.com/vBulletin/misc.php?do=cyb_apboupc_setall
which is the page 'smilie list' page. Any ideas?

Zagis 04-11-2007 07:42 AM

Hi,
Is it possible to hide links/images in signatures without affect admin's signature?

You must be SuperAdmin to access "Global-set" options.

Check vBulletin config file for options to set you as SuperAdmin.

No, it's not possible with the current version.

vspro 04-12-2007 01:51 PM

Hi cybernecter,

I like the mod you wrote very much then I always install all your mods/ Especially the mod TopX and Mod Advanced Permissions Based on User's Post Count. Now I like you to write a version to make Advanced Permissions Based on User's Post Count mod has the following feature: A member must have an X THANKS to be able download an attachment file. In the ACP, admin can set the X Thanks of each box so that the member go to that box must have to download file in there. Can you integrate the Thanks Mod[click here] of Psionic Vision and create the feature for the next version"? Hope you understand and help me.

It's because I want the member of my site to contribute more, they have to obtain an X thanks to download a file. This will reduce spamming too. Thank you again and hope you have time to give me a help

andrewtr89 04-12-2007 03:24 PM

Hey Cybernetic, nice mod.

I just have one question. I would like to restrict guest viewing of hyperlinks, but NOT images. I have looked and it seems I can either disable both or neither. Is there a way only link viewing can be blocked but not image viewing?

Thanks,
Andrew

Valter 04-12-2007 06:47 PM

When you post image you actually post link. It would be possible to separate that two functions but it would be little complicated and may be little hard to make it working properly. So I leave it together for now...

About thanks counts and permissions - please use Psionic's hack for that. This works only with post counts and I didn't planned to change it in the meantime.

I think it would be nice if we could have it in the next update... :)
Thanks

andrewtr89 04-16-2007 01:49 PM

Okay, thanks again Cyb.

I seem to be having another problem however. Even when I am logged in, I get a "No Link?" message in place of links and images that leads to the Registration Page. I have 500+ Posts and the posting limit for viewing links/img's is just 1. It seems to be random only showing the No Link message on certain posts.

Edit: Here are a few screenshots. The first one was when I was logged in viewing a users post. Then I refreshed and the images/links worked (screenshot2)

BobbyBig 04-17-2007 08:25 PM

Thank you for this awesome Update.

wolfe 04-18-2007 05:14 PM

if i set settings for the parent forum will it affect the children ones ?

wolfe 04-18-2007 05:46 PM

is it possible to make it so they can view the lastpost info after they reach a minimun post count

cause i also want to set this for the post / thread counts :P great mod INSTALLED

Zia 04-19-2007 04:22 AM

Hello Cybernetec..

the new release restrict links & image togethaerly...
if we want to set 10 post for links & 5 post for image..theres no option for it...

its also blocking local links..how to exclude local link from restriction?

any way to separate them ..two separte option to restrict [url] & [img] tag?

tehPARADOX 04-24-2007 02:34 PM

I agree with Zia above. A separate option for links and images would be ideal.

I am also noticing, google is indexing some of my threads that start out with an image with the whole "To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts."

havebetter 04-29-2007 07:01 PM

Absolutely a FANTASTIC mod! Man i have been looking for this for ages to stop these damn spammers!

Hats off to you!

I, Brian 05-05-2007 04:39 PM

It's a great plugin, but sometimes there are issues with vbseo, so that when trying to set global permissions: /misc.php?do=cyb_apboupc_setall I end up on the FAQ regarding smilies, instead of being able to set up forum permissions.

Valter 05-05-2007 08:44 PM

Sorry, I'm not using vBSEO so I can not test it.

Be noted that set-all page is accessible to SuperAdmins only.
You may tried to access this page with non-superadmin account?

Skavenger 05-05-2007 08:49 PM

Hi, nice hack
I was wondering if there is a posibility to add a feature like this to the hack:

Hi Cybernetic,

I wanted to sit out until the mod is updated or when images and links can be changed separately, so I uninstalled the mod, but for some reason random links in posts and/or signatures are giving me a "No Link?" error, pointing to the Registration Page. Could you please let me know how this can be fixed? I already uninstalled the mod...:(

You have installed some other mod which do this. This hack has nothing with that.
