To have it send a Deleted PM rather than a Moved PM when a thread is moved to a particular forum, go to AdminCP -> Options -> Moderation AutoPM - General Options, and enter the Forum ID in the Recycle Bin option.

Thanks,
Alan.

Silly question, but was it your thread that you where editing?

(edit: ignore the bit about options, just re-read your post :))

Nope, wasn't my own....

Amaranth 06-22-2006 01:27 PM

Is it possible to create "PMs" as threads in a moderator forum, instead of sending them to a user? If not, is this a functionality you would consider implementing? This would make a really nice way for moderators to keep track of what's going on, and what users are causing trouble.

Thanks Alan. Apparently one of my hysterical blindness moments. ;)

Just wanted to add that I closed a thread using AJAX (double-clicked the thread status icon) and no notification was sent either.

It doesn't support that feature, as I forgot all about it :D

The non-sending on title change is due to a missing phrase. I assigned the phrase to the wrong product on my development board :o

I'll fix it now, and see about adding support for the double-clicking of thread icons to send a PM at the same time :)

Thanks,
Alan.

Alan @ CIT 06-22-2006 09:24 PM

Hi all,

Moderation Auto-PM 2.0.1 has been released :)

What's Changed:

* Added support for opening and closing threads by double-clicking on the thread icon
* Fixed a bug caused by a missing phrase

Credit for this release goes to ConqSoft, as he notice the missing phrase bug, and suggested the new Ajax open/close feature :)

As usual, any problems, comments, questions or suggestions, please let me know.

Thanks,
Alan.

ConqSoft 06-22-2006 09:35 PM

Thanks for the update!

COBRAws 06-23-2006 03:55 AM

When the PM is sent, and the option "email me when a new PM arrives" is ON, the email says "Moderator A sent you a PM" and when you read the PM the author is Moderator B.

Ill explain:
I have set so all PMs are sent thru a general sender. But emails show the real moderator.

Another thing I would like is, avoid sending those emails when an "Moderation Auto-PM" PM is send.

So far so good!

Stop 06-23-2006 04:32 AM

Great Update Alan @ CIT. I'm impressed.

Send a Delete PM instead of a Move PM if moved to a particular forum (ie, a recycle bin type forum)
And can I mention the reason here? coz when moving a thread you can't add a reason.

redlabour 06-23-2006 05:30 AM

New Phrases for german Users.

Attention - some changes :

1. "Threads" and "Postings" now named for User GUI "Themen" & "Beitr?ge".

2. Every Bug in Translation is now fixed and some missing parts are now corrected ! ;)

Amaranth 06-23-2006 04:07 PM

It would be great if you could respond to my previous post regarding posting moderation notices as threads, instead of just PMs. Or, to give moderators a shared PM account perhaps?

Alan @ CIT 06-24-2006 08:47 AM

Amaranth, I've no plans to add such a feature at this time. It may make it into a future version though.

Thanks,
Alan.

ConqSoft 06-27-2006 11:54 PM

Hmm. Seems to be a problem with the Post Edited message. This is exactly how I got it:

Hi ConqSoft,

The post that you created in the following thread has been edited

q8manar 07-01-2006 01:04 PM

problem with this version only

when the PM sent to user ,
Private Messages: Unread 0, Total 7.
Still Unread is zero .

the previus version was OK

ConqSoft 07-01-2006 01:05 PM

Hey, I noticed that too. :)

By the way, this definately should make it into the running for Hack of the Month

Alan @ CIT 07-01-2006 01:39 PM

Nothing has changed between this versoin and the previous version with regards to the sending on PMs :)

What versions of vBulletin are you running?

ConqSoft 07-01-2006 02:26 PM

I'm on v3.5.4.

q8manar 07-02-2006 07:38 AM

Just for clearefacation
I'm using now Moderation Auto-PM v2.0
the Moderation Auto-PM v 1.0.1 was OK

xlguy 07-05-2006 10:01 AM

One question
What happens if a user doesn't have PM enabled?

Issues
The e-mail notification shows the moderator's name rather than generic user.
If your recycle bin forum is hidden it doesn't send them the deleted topic message (or is this because I have one click move, if so can I add it to that?)

mtha 07-08-2006 02:57 AM

just got bad luck or something, this one just doesnt work for me.
vb 3.5.4, I uploaded the files and import product. No PM is sent out with post delete/move, thread move/close/delete .... at all. havent try all the functions yet, but none that I tested is working right now. Do you have any idea Alan

ConqSoft 07-08-2006 02:58 AM

Did you turn on all the option in the AdminCP -> vBulletin Options?

Alan @ CIT 07-08-2006 07:36 AM

And are you certain your not testing it on your own thread/post/attachment? If you are the author, it won't send a PM :)

Thanks,
Alan.

SCRIPT3R 07-09-2006 05:43 PM

i haven't tried yet because i'm at work, but would there be any expected problems if the PM's were set up to be sent by a user that had their PM abilities turned off? i was thinking about setting up a BOT account to which users would not be able to reply to the auto-PM's.

Yes. I turn off at first, and only leave the options I want, it didnt work. Then I turn back on all the options, it still doesnt work.

I have two accounts, login in two browsers (on the same computer), and test on eachother's post/thread. it doesnt seem to work. Dont know if after installation, I need to setup anything else? any permission need to turn on (not by default)?

Alan @ CIT 07-10-2006 10:50 AM

mtha,

If you can set me up an Admin logon on your forum, I will take a look for you :)

Thanks,
Alan.

I can confirm that this is happening on my system as well, running the latest version of the hack on vB 3.6 Release Candidate 1. I've just set up the test scenario and tested it myself:

BUG DETAILS:

1) Create a non-moderator / normal user account.

2) Sign in as this normal user, navigate to a forum that moderates posts/threads, and make a series of three or four posts in that thread.

3) Log out, and log back in, this time as a moderator.

4) Approve / delete the various posts.

5) Log out, log back in as the normal user. What you'll discover is that the standard vB pop-up dialogue box for a new PM appears (if you have it configured to do so), informing you that you have a new PM; and you'll notice that the 'unread' PM count in the userinfo area reads '1' -- even though, if you go to the PM interface, you'll see that you have quite a few from the Moderation-PM system. Read the first PM, and the count of unread PMs will drop to '0', even though you've remaining unread PMs in your box.

Alan @ CIT 07-14-2006 08:42 AM

I'll see if I can recreate this bug tonight.

Amaranth 07-14-2006 09:29 AM

This mod is great, and my members gave it a warm reception. Some had been complaining that unknown moderators changed and deleted their posts, and they weren't told why or by whom - something this mod is perfect to remedy! Everyone is more happy now.

One great addition to this mod would be a moderation report generator. Who has moderated what thread, when and why. This could be accomplished by making a shared PM account for moderators - or even having a forum that contains threads of the different PMs that are sent out.

Thanks alot for this, it works like a charm! :)

Vindicator 07-19-2006 09:48 AM

I installed this mod and it basically broke some moderation abilities (move/delete I tested, possibly more). When I try to moderate a thread it goes to the blank white screen?

I'm running vB3.5.4 and no previous mod. Any help appreciated

Alan @ CIT 07-19-2006 10:03 AM

Vindicator: Try turning off GZip Page Compression in vBulletin Options. That should give you an error message, rather than a blank page.

Thanks,
Alan.

Vindicator 07-19-2006 10:23 AM

Thanks for the quick response. GZip is already off.

Alan @ CIT 07-19-2006 07:22 PM

Have you got ANY other mods installed at all? Even ones that don't relate to moderation functions?

Thanks,
Alan.

Vindicator 07-19-2006 07:26 PM

Yes, I have a number of mods installed. Please see PM
