a suggestion:
you should use class="bginput" for input fields and class="button" for buttons for better looking in the arcade

Would be good for admins to have access to a small X next to each game's username so we can just delete scores without going to the admincp. This feature is available in v3Arcade.

Not sure if it is mentioned already, but it would be nice to have direct link to a game listed on main page in "newests champions". So that people can easily try to beat a score if they see something interesting there. Instead of searching for the game if total number of games is high.

I'm sure this gets requested a lot. But being able to change the orientation of the tables that display the game instructions would be nice. I did this manually, but it would nice to have a admin option, so I don't have to redo it with every update.

Also, maybe this is just me, I've never understood why all these game mods have to have the top scores, the most recent games, the most played games and all that table info on every page. If there were an option to show it on just the index page, and have all the category listings on separate pages without having to scroll to the bottom, then I'd love that. As it is, I kind of have to put indications that games are listed at the bottom of each page, and I think, from a design sense point-of-view, that's not the most efficient design.

Last but not least, there seems to be an aversion to uploading games to these download sites with a clear and concise list of game-play instructions. I don't know if it's possible, but if there were some way for the in-game instructions to be "read" during install and then posted in The Controls or Object section, I think that would be a plus for the modfication.

How about a page in the Admin Control Panel, with links to the game site's where people can download the games...........

This has probably been mentioned before, but in order to rate a game, you have to add it as a favorite. So if you are rating a game low, you are essentially saying 'this is one of my favorite games and it sucks.' This is strange right? Favorite and Rating should be independent of one another in my opinion. Thanks.

it is independent, you can rate every game after playing :)

Oh sorry man! I didn't see that, thanks. I was thinking it would be nice to have it in the game list but I see now that the idea is that they have to play it once to rate it. Although, I have a number of games installed that are not IBPA integrated so no score submit, and therefore no opportunity to rate it without making it a favorite. Now that I know where it is I could add that bit to the game skin though. Thanks again.

Some essential options...
1. allow secondary usergroups when setting usergroup permissions - at the current setup, you need separate primary usergroup for those who are privileged to create tourney games
2. enable/disable view highscores/tourney wins in memberinfo (profile page) - this is an alternative way of acknowledging your members efforts if they managed to highscore 50+ games and you want to show all those games without compromising your server load (instead of postbit)

when we click on game list..there should be a FIX GAMES section added for MASS FIX GAMES at one time or check them. If something is missing or needed it should report you after the test is done..wether error are in red and maybe even green.

The latest ipb version has a challenge system where users can challenge each other to a game. I know it's a lot to ask but that would be awesome!!

On the invision version, it checks to see if the game is installed.

most have a TON of games installed, and when I install some game packs (mutliple games) it just makes duplicate copies of the games..

So I have a few copies of certain games...

I think it would be nice to have it so the games are checked for dups when you install them..

Ya, when you are in teh AdminCP doing the install, it says INSTALLED next to it, therefore there isn't an INSTALL link, instead it says UNINSTALL.

But if you are getting repeats, its because more than one person mod'd the same game and something is slightly different about it enough that no arcade script is intelligent enough to know how to play the game and realize they are the same, just named different.

Add a full screen playing mode ..

If you get the same score as your highest so far, your new info should be saved to the database. This allows you to change your comment, and reduce the time played. A basic fix is easy: change the > and < on this line to >= and <=.

time played gets reduced/saved if it is better than the current highscore :)

MrZeropage, following needs to be looked into

1) The disqualification problem. The 7 day rule is not properly enforrced. I am giving examples.
a) Sometimes the arcade tourney gets locked when even though both the players have played the games, the winner is not advanced. In such cases we are shown a link to "make winner advance". Now if the faceoff player at next level has completed his games and was waiting for this guy, and if we advanced this person a bit late, than the original waiting person gets disqualified(if his waiting period was more than 7 days) A better option would be to reset his time when we make the winner advance as he can only play when he has an opponent. The time reset should be done everythime the faceoff player is ready and not from the time one guy becomes promoted to next level as to be fair to him he didn't have anyone to play against during that time. Yes he could have played on his own but people usually wait to see opponent before playing or before completing the game quota and in those cases(see point#2 below) he will get disqualified again cos of not completing the games in 7 days.
b) Another major problem is that in case a person has say 3/3 game tourney and two guys are playing. Suppose person-A has played all three games and person B has played only 1 out of 3 but has a higher score in that then all three combined games of A, after 7 days if B doesn't complete his rest 2 games(he has no need to) B shouldn't be disqualified. As he had more score than A even though he played one game, B should be promoted and A eliminated.

Some feature requests:

• I would also recommend that you have a cron maybe to check stalled tourneys that we can run say every day automatically that advances winners. This should take care of stalls.
  
• Also i would suggest a setting in admincp to cap the maximum tournaments that can be run at any given time. People seem to be opening a lot of tourneys without finishing the older ones.
  
• A group setting on who can take part in the tournament. (so that only active guys can)

The feature requests aren't important. But the tourney probs need a fix. People are getting a bit disillusioned by the arcade tournament's otherwise.

First off thanks for an amazing mod and all the work you put into it.

Some way to let the user challenges another user would be amazing. Where it already says what game they are playing when you hover there name in the arcade some way to challenge them on the game there playing. Would give players a lot more competition then just talking trash to each other in the high scores notes.

Also if there was some way to put the record of how many challenges won/lost in postbit/profile would improve competition too, and would drastically improve arcade activity.

If this is in it I'm unaware of it - the ability to have games only able to play in tournament mode. As in I can select an option for a game so players can't regularly play it, but they CAN create a tournament using that game.

well i ran across this thread on accident so if this has been suggested already i second it.

when i install games it kills my server or i run into bad games. recently i purchased some game packs where there are several hundred packed together and ill ftp them and walk away.

well would i would like is a feature where i can pick like maybee 20-30 games at a time and click "install these games" opposed to "install all games" at once.

Not sure if this available yet but I would like the main skin to have an option below the trophy leaders to show the best of the rest. i.e. the 4th-10th ranked trophy holders.

There is currently no way of finding out who has the fourth most trophies and so on and so on.

I'd love to see Groups/Guilds/Clans/Teams, and the ability to use them in Group Tournaments and a separate Leaderboard, etc.

A Challenge system (seen this everywhere as a request, and I concur).

Prune all scores after top X scores (used for basic clean up, not the same as full pruning), OR the option to not save any score that doesn't get into the top X scores. Obviously, X is configurable.

A special "All Games" Category that shows every game from every category the user has rights to, and an intuitive change to the Game List View Filtering:

Right now when you click on "All" in the line, "All 0-9 A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z", you only see the current category's games, whereas clicking "A" will show all games that start with "A" across all categories. By having a special "All Games" Category, you can make the line, "All 0-9 A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z", filter the currently selected category only, be it "All Games" or "Puzzle Games", "Shooters", etc.

I'd also like to see some additions to the Game List templates:

1. Top X Highscore Champions, not just current High Score Champion, X is adjustable
2. Last Comment
3. Show the Category the game is listed in
4. Instructions/Description of game (so you don't have to pay credit to view them, or have to click on HighScores to get a description)

Add to my wish list the ability to have games appear in more than one category. Example: most holiday games would fall under multiple categories, like Holiday + Puzzle. This how "Tagging" works.

Another idea would be to implement "Rooms" (works like Categories, can be set up to allow certain usergroups access into the rooms, i.e. Premium Room, Free Play Room, etc., can't have same game in more than one room, can have separate instance of game in different rooms) and "Types" (works like Tags, i.e., games can have multiple tags, can limit usergroup access to certain tags, like Adult). I don't know if I'm explaining this correctly, but it I can think of several ways to use this.

a download link so members can download a predefined number of games, something like the arcade from ibparcade or ipbarcade-enchanted, this is still the only drawback to close my ipb board and set my vB board open to public.

I would also like to be able to load v32 converted tar games. And have them submit score without extracting the gamedata folders. What a challenge this has been :eek:

What about a Full screen option? Some games I understand are made small, but are hard to see. Would there be a way to make the arcade full screen the game, and adjust the resolution accordingly?

if you use ibPro-Style, you can play a game in a free resizable popup-window :)

I'd like to retain the top three High Scorers of All Time, so that after I prune scores every quarter, those who are the top 3 scorers will get to retain their titles, not just the top scorer. As far as I can tell, the King of the Arcade is the person who retains the most high scores of all time. It should be easy to award a second and third place title, or even to show a "scoreboard ranking" showing all those with High Scores of All Time, ranked from most to least.
