Hello Everyone,
As far as I can see, this mod looks like the best of its kind, so thank you for your hard work! I noticed that this mod adds a copyright at the bottom of the page. Is there a branding free option to remove the copyright? Can you let me know either way? If so, can you provide me with some details like how much, how to go about paying for it? Etc... In addition, when will an updated version be coming out, hopefully with some new features as suggested? Thank You, Nuguru :) |

I didn't mean to abandon everyone. Sorry about that. For some reason I haven't been getting emails telling me there were replies to this thread. Plus some real life things had to get dealt with. I'm getting back on this again. Look forward to seeing some new features. I'll try to read through all the replies (wow there's alot) and see what I can help you all with. I'm in the process of acquiring another vB license as the one I was using I don't have access to (I was assisting with dev on another site). Just gotta find that $160 for a license..... ;) Quote:

I think I've added all the feature requests to the list. If I haven't, let me know. |
Good news. 1) I have a license (yay!) and 2) vB.Sponsors works with 3.6 without changes. More to follow.

Great to hear your all set to go. I look forward to getting this product up and going ASAP. Enjoy, Nuguru :) |
Is there anyway to remove the phrase "forum sponsored by" ? Thank you

Thank you Deviation :)

Sorry to be a dummy...
Deviation indicated this is not for 3.6 but we have one post in here saying it works with 3.6? So, any update on a 3.6 version or are people using this? |

I will be releasing one final update for vBulletin 3.5.X. This will mostly be a code cleanup and perhaps a couple added features. After that release, there will only be maintenance releases (bugs, security, etc) for 3.5.X. After that release, I will be releasing a vBulletin 3.6.X edition. This will likely arrive soon after the last 3.5.x edition is released as it will be minor changes to fully support 3.6.x. This edition will receive feature updates as well as maintenance releases. To answer your question, this does work with vBulletin 3.6.X. It doesn't take advantage of some of the new features from vB 3.6 though (version checking, help topics, faqs, etc.). Hope this answers some of the questions. |
This morning I am starting to use this to put images on my forums that are not sponsored.
This is a great mod! Here is the link to my forum list. They are not all filled out yetand I hope it doesn't bog things down too much. http://www.guns-and-ammunition.com/index.php |

If those of you using it could PM me your forum's address I'd appreciate it. I'd love to see how you guys/gals are using it.:) Plus I'm planning on adding some links on my website to the forum's using it. |
Deviation,
I'm getting this error now when clicking on the sponor banners. All are enabled and links are correct. It looks like the software is looking at my server for the link to the off site address? The banners are stored on my site in a folder if that helps. Any help is appreciated. Quote:

Deviation,
I figured it out myself, whew! I am proud of myself as I have been learning a a lot over the last 3 months. I'm an IT guy, but not a coder, who knows.... Maybe I'll learn coding too. Thanks for the great hack. |

My fatigue :D I had forgotten to add the forum/site name to line 27 in the links.php file. DOH! By clicking on the banner link and seeing where it was directed and what it was looking for as it errored out. From there I started thinking in my mind how the flow of what was supposed to happen and it dawned on me I had forgotten a step. Here is another question, if I upgrade to 1.05, do I re-install everything, or do I just drop the new files into the directory? This will be the first time I upgrade a hack and I was wondering if there was a short cut? Thanks again! |

Hello,
First of all, thank you for the continuous updates and support. Secondly, I would love to install this mod, but I am waiting on some information about a branding free option. Is there one that exists and what information can you provide me? Thank You, Nuguru :) |

Good to hear the branding free option will be available soon on you 3.6 compatible version, but will the 3.6 compatible version also be able to also be used on vb 3.5.4? At this time, my board is the way I want it and don't want to upgrade just yet to 3.6, but would like to use your terrific mod- vB.Sponsors. Also, what other features are you going to be adding to the 3.6 version and again will they be 3.5.4 compatible? Thank You, Nuguru :) |

Did you remember to change the path to your forums in the link.php file from 1.0.5? |

Thanks for the continued support.:) |

Oh, that would be great! Perfect, thank you very much. Have you given additional features any thought, like client login for their stats? Nuguru :) |

The 3.6 version is cooking. Should be out soon. |
Deviation, this looks like a great modification that I cannot wait to see coded for vB 3.6.1. :D
It's great to see so many coders working on various modifications are willing to put them up on this site for all of us to download and add to our sites. ;) Keep up the great work and I'll be keeping me eye out for a version of vB.Sponsors for my vB 3.6.x. Thanks again, Mark www.f-bodyhideout.com |
waitin for the 3.6.x version too :D
Awesome hack man! Marco |
Just to add my 2c to this too, I've just upgraded to 3.6.0 and need this for my site... Any ETA on the 3.6 compatible version yet?

Sorry for the delay on it. |
Just got this installed, and everything seems to be fine except for the Global Settings/Stats links in the admincp. I noticed a few other people have reported this problem, but there was never a posted solution as to how to fix it. When I click either of the links, I get a blank admincp page. If I manually enter the url into the address bar it shows up fine. When hovering over the links, I see the correct url in the status bar.
Now for some info: Forum Version: 3.6.2 vB.Sponsors Version: 1.0.5 Browser: FireFox 2.0 RC2 Notes: I just started with vBulletin so I'm not very familiar with the code yet, however I checked your code against other mods that work fine and everything seems to be in order. The options show up fine under forum options. All other mod admincp sections work fine. It DOES work in IE. I've seen that other people have stated that they just logged out, overwrote vBSponsors.php, logged back in and it worked. I've tried that, even closing the browser and clearing the cache, and still no go. Any ideas? |

Also, I'd hold out for the 3.6.x version if I were you. There will be some changes that may not be compatible with the 3.5.x version. I'm still working on that right now. |
