That's one mighty challenge. I'm going to definitely pass. ;)

MS doesnt even support IE4 and as a result alot of companies aren't either. I don't see why vb really should at this point.
On the other hand, if they did, maybe there should be a new more css oriented design with an admin option to turn on a style that conforms to IE 4.x. A basic style. Nothing fancy, no extra options. |

Are my eyes seeing things or did I just see someone say they strive to support IE4. This is ridiculous. If the biggest organisation in the world has discontinued support for it, that's telling you something. I'd put money on it that there are less than 10k internet users worldwide using IE4.

http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp
This will show that only 0.5% of the visitors of w3schools in july 2002 was still using IE4. http://www.upsdell.com/BrowserNews/stat.htm Stats on the usage of IE4, vary from 0.05% to 0.45% Also have a look at: http://www.thecounter.com/stats/2005/June/browser.php http://www.ews.uiuc.edu/bstats/latest-month.html http://www.webreference.com/stats/browser.html (there are still hits on IE3, maybe we should support that too :D) PS have a look at these stats from 1996: :D http://www.useit.com/alertbox/browsers_dec96.html |
