Someone get this man a PDA!
Nintendo DS's are getting pretty cheap, $100 for a used one on ebay. |
Great skin Zach. I'd used others for my treo but this blows them all out of the water. My only complaint is that it is not wide enough for me, but that's an issue I can deal with. Unless of course you have some free time. ;)

I'll see what I can do. |
Zachery, this is great. And to Wayne, you have a point about the long-term - something like this won't matter in 2 years or so when everyone in the world has some sort of EDGE or 3G enabled phone or PDA or BlackBerry-like device. However, in two years, I also see a vast and rapid change in the vB product, as well. The modern mentality is one of instant gratification, so long-term viability or not, this project is good for use now.
And lets not mention the forums such as BlackBerryForums.com, HowardForums.com, or any of the umpteen others that are directed towards mobile users and mobile technologies. Just because a forum for My Little Pony won't have mobile visitors doesn't mean that some other forum wouldn't... Someone else mentioned that mobile phones are now capable of whatever parsing, but the simple fact of it is - there's still a global bandwidth issue in the mobile market. GPRS's claims of 50kb/s and more is f'n ridiculous... 15-25kb/s is tops, so you try and navigate HAPPILY using that crap. EDGE and EVDO should be rolled out in N. America in the next few weeks/months, so maybe things will change at that point, but I doubt it. There will be atleast 2-3 years for a demand in slim-line, fast-browsing products. |
Zachery, you can download a BlackBerry simulator program (I believe they also make these for Palm, etc), if thats all you want to be able to further development.
https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...359F4AE7BD7BA1 Get the JDE 4.0.2 version for the latest handheld OS code. You have your choice of running the handheld from ANY BlackBerry handheld available - both the 72xx and 7100 handheld models and screen resolutions. You will need to start up the MDS simulator first, but after that, you can start up one of the handhelds and be surfing on your computer via simulation. Its a cheap fix to your problem, but probably not the one you wanted... hehe. :-) |
Is this compatible with 3.0? :/
|
WOW, this is one of the better ideas I have seen, and from the code so far, it looks to be the makings of XHTML a lot of folks have been asking for.
I will definately be watching this one. Great job! Looks difficult too... I wish you the best of luck on this one. |
