Not yet. I'll take a look today to see if there is a way of making that work and let you know whether it's viable. :)

I am getting an error when uploading the XML file via plug-ins. I have uploaded all of the documents to my server to the appropriate folder and verified they were uploaded properly.

I then get a Time out screen when attempting to upload the product-dbtech_userthreads.xml

I am able to go into: Settings > Options >DragonByte Tech: Threadmins and Group Moderators - General Settings

However that is the only menu that shows up. I will continue trying to re-install until there is a response, thank you

Do you run on a shared server? It could be that there is too short a time on the PHP time out and I've know shared servers time out if they haven't been able to process the file quickly enough.

You could try navigating direct to the main AdminCP folder file for Threadmins to check that it has uploaded where it expects. That would be the ACP location plus /userthreads.php.

You might want to try uploading the XML to a folder on the server and then importing it from there and see if that helps.

If you want me to take a look after trying these suggestions, I'll be glad to. Just PM me the URL and account details (a new account if possible with full admin permissions) and I'll take a look. If you could verify for me that you have a database backup before I started doing anything that would be ideal. :)

I attempted to use that link and it says "
Sorry, you don't have permission to access the administrative controls on this page.

If you need to access this page, ask your lead administrator to enable your permissions for this page using the Administrator Permissions section of the control panel.
"

Do I need to have the install admin powers to view this mod?

Thank you for the response also

I assume you aren't a Super Admin on the site? Super Admins should have permissions to access it, though each admin can have permissions to control the Threadmins section.

I don't mind taking a look if you want me to.

Hi everyone,

Released a bug fix (v2.0.8) for Threadmins and Group Moderators which resolves an issue with Super Moderators sometimes being unable to edit users posts who belong to usergroups that are immune. This fix includes the option to globally disable or enable Super Moderators ability to override. There is also an improvement in the descriptions of the different moderator permissions for Threadmins and Group Admins. These descriptions are pulled from vBulletin's own descriptions to ensure clarity on what they do.

Fixed: Super Moderators unable to moderate users belonging to usergroups with Immunity.
Fixed: Group Moderator permissions not updating when adding or updating a moderator's usergroups.
Added: Added Explanations of all moderator permissions.

Changed the following files:
/dbtech/userthreads/includes/class_core.php
/dbtech/userthreads/hooks/can_moderate_forum.php
/dbtech/userthreads/actions/admin/threadadmins.php
/dbtech/userthreads_pro/actions/admin/groupadmins.php

Added the following files:
/dbtech/userthreads/hooks/admin_moderator_save.php

Thanks as always to everyone for their feedback and suggestions.

Is there a way that I can allow several people to edit a particular thread? Whenever I do it, it shows the admin options on the screen but when the user tries to use them they get the error that they have "insufficient privileges".

DragonByte Tech 07-30-2013 03:02 PM

I'll walk you through how things should work, and we can then where the problem is. :)

In the Admin Control Panel, go to DBTech - Threadmins and select Thread Admins from the list.

When the page loads enter the Thread ID of the one you want to assign permissions to, for example thread 53. The option is described as: Enter the thread ID of the specific thread you want to find.

Beneath that is the option described as: Select the username of the user you want to check or add thread admin permissions to. Enter the username of the user you want to give the permissions to.

When you click on Show the page will load only that thread.

You can then select using the checkbox which permissions you want to allow. Effectively you need to select Edit Posts for a user to really be able to make use of the other options.

Once you've saved the permissions, test if the user can make the edits they want.

If you still have a no permission error, can you let me know the answers to the following questions:

Does the user normally have some sort of moderator permissions (even if in another forum)?
What action causes the no permission, for example, editing via AJAX or Advanced editing?
What version of vB are you using, and are you sure you have the very latest version of the mod uploaded to the server?

Thanks for posting the problem, and I'm sure we'll figure out a solution. If you are still having issues, sending me a PM with the details of an Admin account on your site (and the site domain) would help me trace down the issue.

Just a bug I'm having with this plugin,

When a Usergroup Leader accepts a usergroup join request - it does not give that individual the moderator access when they are accepted. It only works when I save their profile via AdminCP.

Will this be fixed anytime soon?

Thanks.
