What to do with $50K ?

I'd use $20K to pay down my mortgage, $20K I'd invest in my Scottrade accounts, and the last $10K I'd use to pay off my truck.

If you have high interest rate credit card dept, you better pay those off first. :)

First: Help My family
Second: Get out of debt
Third: Invest the money.

Use the money in something that you can keep for ever or for way too long.
I wouldnt use that money that my dad left me just for bills.

You go work your ass and pay your own bills, that goes for everybody saying they will put it on damn bills.

That money I would like to keep forever and not touch it, but because bills wont do anything being in a safe spot, I would buy something that my dad wanted me to get and keep that forever.
Could be anything you want but not damn bills.

... you are like 14 years old if you think like that - you have a wrong view of what a symbol is and you do not know the value of money... but you have the right to be yourself...

actually, if i'd be in the situation where my kids are starving and i do not have a job, sure i would use that money to feed my kids and pay the bills... so my father would have helped me save the health of my kids...-- and if my father would have been alive in that situation, he would have help me by giving me money for my kids.. that comes to the same end. if you can't see this, you really have no life.

Based on what you said you're looking for -- you mentioned wanting to start a business -- I would try to find something that's fun, that you can learn from, and that has the potential to produce a decent return down the road. Some ideas that might help inspire you:

-- Buy a website on a subject you enjoy, polish it up, earn income from ads and maybe products
-- Use the money to cover your living expenses while you work on something you really enjoy -- maybe build a website from scratch or write a book.
-- Get a part-time or full-time assistant who you can use to help take care of the time-consuming details of everyday life, so that you have more time for the things that are important to you -- expand whatever you're already doing for a living.
-- Relocate somewhere that might have better opportunities, where your lifestyle can be better than it is now, where you might have more time for the stuff you really like to do.
