This is very true...some of the most talented coders I know are young enough to be my own kids lol ;)

That may be the case, but this guy has scammed person after person here, as a search will show. He may be talented YES. But then you may employ a talented person to work for YOU and find out later he's a thief taking money from you.

Would you still employ him?

The point here is this. It's about time vB.org showed a stance over this guy and banned his account. Never mind the fact he owns a licence so they can't ban him. Just ban him and then let him complain to vBulletin. Who can always point out to him what he has been doing over here and offer him a refund to stop using vBulletin.

This kind of person is the worse type, praying on people who are foolish enough to buy into his scams. Kid or no kid, if he wants to act like the big time crook. He should be treated like one.

Very true...there ARE some brilliant young coders here, but that's not what this is about...

...gotta stay on-topic...this is about ExtremeTim being a scam artist.

A rating system would alleviate a lot of these issues, I agree. In regards to banning him, there are members here who are actively involved in sites that rip us all off including vbulletin, on a large scale and they are well known to Jelsoft and the staff here (who, you all need to remember, don't make policy rather they just volunteer their talents and time for us all) and are allowed to stay...do you really think one small fish in the ocean is going to get banned?

MRGTB 06-07-2007 03:34 PM

Not all the people at vBulletin are volunteers. Some are paid employees. Who have to power to say enough is enough, here is a refund and your account is banned both at vBulletin and vB.org now.

Technically wouldn't all these accusations be here say?
Wouldn't it be best to get a respected staff member to pose as a regular member asking for help in the Service Request forum? They wait until Tim takes the bait and see if he does in fact steal money.

j/k :D but that's a nice smilie isn't it, one of my members made it

nexialys 06-08-2007 12:12 AM

actually << well known word in this thread... would it be simplier to NOT talk about Tim when he is not here to represent himself...

none of you have faced his wraith... you just discuss about some mad guys, but none of you CAN apply a solution...

the only thing the "clients" can do, is to call for coders in some OTHER place where a service is offered with security... the guys here on vb.org have an alert that say they are not responsible of any problem ... that's enough...

go to http://sitepoint.com or http://www.freelancers.net is you want a supervised service...

beduino 06-08-2007 02:46 AM

maybe it's useful to all if vbulletin.org opens a little space to surveys [all the times this coders releases a new script, a new survey] about the coders who advertise yours works here. only to this coders.
we will collect some information before any purchases.
only a idea
all the best

I think we all should report Tim to the FBI...
