Hello Antivirus....once again. Thanks for your mod. [Clicks MOTM Nomination]

I do have one problem I was wondering if you could help me fix.
I did the unistallation of the old mod and did a fresh re-start with this one.
I tested it and I do get the link in the header.
However, when I click the link, it says the following:

Quote:

Fatal error:
hpa has chosen not to receive private messages or may not be allowed to receive private messages. Therefore you may not send your message to him/her.
Unable to proceed with save while $errors array is not empty in class vB_DataManager_PM in /includes/class_dm.php on line 763
Any ideas on how to remedy this?
Thanks.

NOTE: The user does have the ability to accept PMs. I checked that as well.

Banuchi2, the PM override is something I didn't originally take into consideration, so I'll have to look into that since it makes sense the bouncing member should receive the PM regardless of whether or not they can use PMs.

xtazy & nathan, ok i think i found the problem. It seems that the User Datamanager is conflicting with restoring the original usergroupid. I found where the problem is, but it seem sthat a hook where i need one doesn't exist, so i'm going to have to figure out a way to get around it... will look into fixing this this weekend.

For now, so long as you have "Update Member's Usergroup when Processing Bounces?" setting in AdminCP turned OFF, this hack is stable.

Antivirus.... the one interesting thing about that message I received is that it says that message for everyone....regardless of whether or not they receive/use pms. That member in particular was accepting pms, but I had still gotten that error message anyways. Good luck and thank you.

I am using Outlook Express for my bounced mail only. I do not see anything that says "X-EZbouncer" in the header. I am using 3.6.4 and installed it per your directions. Does it not work with Outlook Express?

Does this mod work if you've enabled SMTP email instead of the internal PHP mail function?

I don't use outlook express, but my guess is that you need to enable viewing the full email header in order to see the link.

Not sure, but I think it should since the email header is created within the mail_send hook (which is located in class_mail.php

Hmmm... I'm not seeing any reference to EZbouncer in my bounced emails. Is there any other settings I need to turn off or on? I'm using 3.6.4 and Outlook 2003.

I use Outlook Express - the default installation - and it works just fine.

new version 1.4 uploaded today. Fixes the issues above with PM not being sent to users who have private messaging turned off, and also now correctly restores user's usergroup to what it was before they were processed for bouncing.

yep i confirm the moving to the original group after activation now works =] , but now i think i found another bug.. not sure. Here's the situation using the same setup and options from my previous posts. For example:

Assume i have like 20 bounced email. I used the header link and managed User1 to the bounced group. The hack remembers his original usergroup, Registered Users, and now moved User1 to the Invalid Emal usergroup. Then i moved on to the second email and managed that user. Same as third and fourth. Suppose i opened the 5th bounced message and that user is User1 again, but i forgot that i already managed him as a bounced user. So i went off and click the link and he's managed again. But now the hack remembers User1's original usergroup as Invalid Email usergroup instead of Registered Users because he was already moved there in the first place. So then User1 change and activates his email but he will be moved back to the Invalid Email usergroup again.

I think the hack should check if that user is already been bounced. If bounced msgs goes to gmail email users, gmail group multiple same bounced emails into one. So gmail users can just go down the list and click on the header link easily, but they will probably forget if they already had that user as a bounced member. Just a suggestion or a bug reporting.
