old fart here. It's good to see so many young uns learning VB. Forums will thrive for years to come. No one has posted an age over 50. Am I the only 50 something in the house? :surprised:

If you read the Thread from the start, and look at some of the profiles, you will discover that gothicuser and firstrebel were both born in the late 40's and are in their late 50"s and I reported that I am a couple of years older than each of them. ;) So there is at least one someone "over 60."

Ahhhh, I didn't go into profiles or dig that far. It appears we have quite a mix of ages here. Glad to hear I'm not the only old timer here ....and I feel young, really. ....It's all about how old you feel ...(ever notice only old folks say that.) :D

I tend to believe life is more about "how one behaves and what one does" rather than "how one feels." The difficulty is in getting people of all ages to "behave," whether "age appropriately" or just in general.

One of the more difficult lessons of life to learn is that "life" really is not just "all about ourselves." :)

right on!
seriously, you've hit the nail on the head. We all have our 'moments' but some people just need to wear daytime diapers again and big pacifier hanging around their necks. i get really annoyed at people in their 50s acting like spoilt babies (my mother outlaw being a prime example).

slappy 07-25-2006 09:21 PM

Keep in mind that one has to pay "waaaaay too much attention" to someone to actively "dislike" or "hate" them. The "worst" thing one can do to "annoying people" is "ignore them." It deprives them of what they really want, which is to actually be annoying and it frees the mind to pay attention to things which might actually be worthwhile. ;)

How true, again, slappy. sadly, in my case she has an incredible level of influence over my wife & step kids as well as being intensely interfering to the point of interfering with my kids from former relationship. very nasty piece of work indeed. anyway, she's barred from my life now and i've been much happier since :)

We got a TV programme here in the UK called 'Grumpy Old Men' that take three ageing actors/celebrities and they discuss, cynically, life! All the things that annoy, frustrate and infuriate them...... well I should be there too ;)
