35 years...and i've seen a LOT. but saying "There were no good old days" doesn't mean that there weren't wonderful times in the past-of course there were. but as pepole i think we all have a tendency to look at good memories from the past through rose-tinted glasses. when the Libertines sing "there were no good old days.. these are the good old days", they're saying don't get so caught up in reminiscing about how good the past was, that you forget to enjoy the present and take it for the gift it is. don't look back upon good times in the past as if it was some mythical time of happiness, the likes of which can never be achieved again-becuase that's a self-fulfilling prophecy. and i agree with that 100%.. which is why that line from the song is one of my favorites. "There were no good old days.. these are the good old days." in other words- live.
