I'm having an issue with being able to edit the description on a video & adding comments.
When I edit the description, it doesn't change.
When I add a comment, I click the "submit comment" button & nothing happens.

I'm interested in this add-on but with 2325+ posts on getting this up and running to work on v4.1.7 I just don't have the luxury of time to wade through that many posts to find out how to make this work with vB 4.1.7 It would seem to me to be prudent to perhaps to consider re-releasing this add-on specifically for versions 4.1.5 - 4.1.7 rather than make folks waste so much of their time trying to figure out where to make the various changes. But hey, that's what I think.

You have to go your Admin control panel. Than modify each usergroup of interest. There are two sections:

MEDIA LIBRARY PERMISSIONS: you can select following options for this group:
Can browse the library Yes No
Can view media details Yes No
Can submit new media Yes No
Can comment on media Yes No
Can give ratings on media Yes No
Can report offensive media Yes No
Can create playlists Yes No

MEDIA LIBRARY MODERATION PERMISSIONS:

Can moderate submissions Yes No
Can moderate comments Yes No
Can moderate media details Yes No
Can moderate media tags Yes No
Can moderate media categories Yes No
Can moderate host services Yes No

That maybe what you are looking for.

If you notice, it says this modification is not supported anymore. It was actually in the graveyard at one point. I ended up switching from this to vbtube pro, but honestly it's only somewhat better, not perfect by any means. :(

OK, Found a slight problem.

Even with the usergroup options set correct.

You can type in the comment box but the Submit button does nothing.
If a user goes to the thread created they can post a comment, but not while watching the video in the media page.

Any thoughts?

It was working fine before the update 4.1.7. Today, following the update, I have a problem when I submit my videos (depending registered) ... it leads me directly on the blank page with inscription:

"Forbidden

You do not have permission to access / on this server media.php.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error while WAS Encountered Trying to use ErrorDocument to handle the year request. "

All my files are installed. Where is the problem?

I'm confused on one thing .. can the mod "Video Directory" be updated to this new MOD? I have over 6,000 videos running in vB 3.8.6 and Video-Directory 1.3.0

Upgraded to VB 4.1.8.
Using these 2 fixes, the mod is working properly! (these fixes are for media description not saving properly).

For the template edits, TMS users can use the attached file to upload directly to TMS.

but on google (webmaster tools) sitemap i still get 120 url with errors: not found

these are urls from the 8wayrun mod. how can i solve this problem???

well, it looks like vbtube is viable replacement. The developer for that seems to have a beta import script, I've left word with him that if the import is robust I'll buy his product.

I did upgrade VB from 4.1.7 to 4.1.8 and now looks like TAGS when displayed are not separated. Any idea what can be done to active separation? I did not have this problem in 4.1.7.

I am getting the same thing on the tags but on 4.1.7

Let make me clear. the TAGS issue I referred to was for individual entry. For instance, some entries had three TAGS separated by comma now there is no separation. I did have the same issue with 4.1.7 but with Global page showing ALL tags. I didn't know what to do, so I simply disabled: MAIN: Tag Cloud Entries from AdminCP.
