I am having this same problem.
Using both IE and firefox I can see it in firefox but I cannot see chat messages in IE. When the script was first updated I was unable to see chats in both IE and firefox, after refreshing a few time I can now see it in firefox but cannot see it in IE. Also is there a way to stop the chat from displaying Horizontal .[ Example below ] ? The Align usernames and chats set to NO/Yes makes no difference as it still aligned horizontally in the chatbox. https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2008/08/15.jpg |
I keep getting the nonstop loading and refresh button. I want to make sure I installed the correct version. Which is the link if you're using vb 3.6.8?
Which version did I install? Honsetly I don't remember. Installed a few versions. I'm thinking I should remove everything and start fresh with the correct version. |

Thank you Adam for this, and your awesome donation system. I was wondering why I was having problems with the latest version of the chattbox. I won't try and cut off the head of the messenger. LOL Peace! |
I know how you can fix the MSIE problem of not displaying the shouts:
Simply open the Style Manager in your AdminCP, click on "edit templates" and revert all templates belonging to the MGC Chatbox. It seems like the uninstall routine of the MGC Chatbox does not work as expected and is incomplete. It doesn't remove all old templates if you click on "uninstall". But I found another more serious bug. If you enable the "ban" command in the latest version and enter the command "/ban show", the only thing you can see in the popup is a mysql error message: Quote:

2. Which version did you install? You installed it, not anyone else. Goto the plugin manager and find out dippy. ;) |
Completely uninstalled and reinstalled and still not working for IE. it works for Firefox.
Also still unable to get chat to align 1 chat per column , the chat runs the user name like the below image . https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2008/08/15.jpg |
Just to add that remaining bug with the PM pop-up. Still not showing.

Want a chuckle??
I downloaded this and set out to test it locally on one of my dev machines as is the norm. I uninstalled the old copy, copied the new files across and imported the product and hey.... not working. Well, to cut a long story short I spent virtually all yesterday spitting blood, and cursing the ground every Mother and their Son walked on :( :( It wasn't until My Daughter returned from shopping, towards the evening that she reminded me that I had changed the HTDocs folder to another partition (without deleting the original one) What a bloody eejit I felt... could've crawled into the woodwork :o:o |
I to experience the same "Loading.." problem, so have reverted back to 0.5.0, which was the version for me, which seemed a lot better.

But I think I know what happens and this is another issue due to the new things that were added in the chatbox. The chats are displayed under the inactive message that's right ? Quote:

If I was doing it with YUI plugins this would be the same, there would be the same problems, I would be forced to add yui plugins and if other developpers were loading the same script then this would also be counter productive. So I think I will stuck with jQuery. However, I would be really interested in knowhing what exactly happens with Prototype, can you give me more information on what is going wrong ? (error logs, etc...). Any clues would be appreciable. Quote:

Have you tried with vBulletin default style ? |

Umusic.... IIS or Apache?
|
This morning I started getting an error where the page was continually loading. I tried restarting the product and also the forum but no change. I had originally installed 0.5.0 but upgraded to 1.0.0 which ran fine (with the exception of the occasional double post on the posters screen only) until this morning.
I tried removing 1.0.0 and then reinstalling 1.0.0 which immediately started the constant loading problem again. For the moment I have removed 1.0.0 and installed 0.5.0 which seems ok now. Sorry I can't help much with troubleshooting. Only been using VB for two weeks so learning curve is still quite steep. Thanks, Simon |

Any errors displayed in firefox error console ? |

Scott, IIS or apache? If it's IIS, might need to disable mod_security, or enable the var token.

The issue is that when chatbox is enabled you do not receive vBulletin PM pop-up. |
Is there anyone who could take a look at the message I posted a couple of days ago? Please see the quote below.
Thanks in advance guys! It's just an annoying little bug I am experiencing. Quote:

I've just upgraded from the old version of this hack to evo version. I used to run my chatbox with only 1 query, now it executes 3 queries. 1 for the core hack, 1 for the smilies and 1 for something else. Is it possile to run the new version with only 1 query? (i disabled all settings need extra queries)

Stuff like that kills me. Does it really make a difference? Honestly, asking. Because with about 300 members and 30 or so chatting I can't notice a lag or change at all. Maybe on a larger scale this might be noticeable. Or is this just on a anal retentive level?

Stangger5 just updated his add-on. CPMS now works with 1.0.0

Think I might well be being lame here :)
I have followed the readme instructions and uploaded the files / done the language thing etc. But how do I use the admin panel to actually install / import the shoutbox? I'm very new to the software so aplogies for the simple question. Thanks, Rob. PS - does the shoutbox auto update after somebody posts a message? |

I also have the same issue with BozzaJos. Plus...
By default, vbulletin asks for confirmation after clicking log out and the page turn into gray in IE. When MGC Chatbox Evo is enabled, it doesn't asks for confirmation and directly logs me out. I can see the yellow javascript error icon in the bottom left corner of IE. Maybe a conflict with the JS files. |

Same here. I had to deactivate the inactive mode. And the yellow error icon does shows sometimes. |
Working brillianty, fast and does exactly what it says :)
Although some chat posts are repeating - i.e. they appear twice for some reason? |
Besides the problem with IE (you can't see shouts) we noticed another problem.
If the shoutbox is available in vBCMS portal the pop-up windows for new PN does not appear any more. If the shoutbox is deactivated or it's on the forum site, the pop-up window works great. Anybody out there with the same problem? |

Go to the Plugins & Products section of the AdminCP then select Manage Products. At the bottom of that page you'll see an Add/Import Product link. Yes it does. Good luck |

Yes. Read the posts before. |
I'm using version 0.5.0 of this mod.
In internet explorer, my members click the smilie face to bring up the first rows of smilies, they click on the more button and the rest of the smilies come up. However when they click on the smilie they want to post, it won't post it in the text box. It works fine in Firefox. |

I have a similar problem in Firefox 3 with the smilies in the 'More' window, while the ones displayed in the line under the text box after just clicking the smiley icon work fine.

Can anyone who has it working and likes it please explain to me how the "Users in the Chatbox" feature works? What settings can I use to make it actually even CLOSE to accurate?
I can have 10 people actively chatting in it, and it tells there is no one in there....and the opposite is true as well. I have the refresh settings set fairly low, so there is not much time delay. It just really seems to not function as designed. |
I'm having an issue with my install of the latest version.
I have it so the newest posts display at the bottom, but the chat box doesn't seem to scroll down as new chats come in. If that explains my problem well enough. |
