My post seemed to have been skipped over. How about it John?

The site is back up now, I was having server problems earlier on today.

photics - I've just sent you a PM.

SportsZone - You can do it based on usergroups now.

I can't find Nathan2006's original post, so I don't know what you're talking about. :p

But I'll be revamping the postbit display of awards soon, something to reflect the fact that some players have a stupid amount of trophies.

In 1.0.7, the beta is going on now - pending results, I'll take it live and upload it to vBulletin.org tonight.

SportsZone 09-22-2006 08:55 PM

Oh sweet I'll look forward to the upgrade!!

Hi John,

Here is my post ;)

Thanks for any help

I have some members with over 80 awards and going to any thread they have made a post in always takes ages because it loads all the pics in and slows the whole thread down.

Like if you clicked on their user name it would be a link Arcade Awards and when you clicked it then a box could pop up with all their awards?

Thank you for any help :)

Well, put it this way - the reason I'm coding something better is because someone sent me a PM saying that they have someone on their forums with 352 trophies.

John 09-23-2006 03:22 AM

1.0.7 - Features and Bug fixes.
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
- Guests can now play games, but their scores aren't recorded. If a guest plays a game, they're asked to register if they want their score recorded afterwards.
- Admins can now wipe all scores through the Admin CP.
- Admins now have a tool to enable challenges by default for all users.
- Usergroup requirements for games are now in place.
- Admins can now choose to flip the columns and have the smaller panel on the left, with the larger content area on the right.
- News & Events - now entries contain links to games.
- Numerous bug fixes.
- Mass category changer for altering game categories en masse.
- High score rebuilder in the Admin CP.

Download it now!

John 09-23-2006 03:28 AM

Just a quick note to everyone in this thread, my internet connection is going to be out of action over the next week so my presence online might be a little sketchy - rest assured that I'll be back on October 1st, and coding offline up until then.

Phooey 09-23-2006 03:43 AM

Thanks for all the updates John. Just upgraded to 1.0.7, it went very smoothely!

Seems to have been bypassed an answer  But i haven't installed 1.0.7 yet as i didn't know it existed until i came here.

Doe's that mean that all the hacks i have installed may have been upgraded? I thought an email was sent out if you pressed the install button, or is that just for the hackers moral.

Richard

cheers John for 1.0.7, always a pleasure... your new forum looks wicked also!

i had problems...but fixed, cheers

actually.... how do you remove pending challenges for guests?

ok... so i dont have links to games in the news... all templates reverted...do i have to remove them manually and install again?

and what is > *[rebuild_filesizes]* in my admincp which shows a blank white page?

mljask 09-23-2006 10:02 AM

its very cool that guests can play games now

bravo John

kj_ugs 09-23-2006 11:22 AM

installed and running perfectly. Can't thank you enough.

prof3ta 09-23-2006 12:26 PM

i have a problem when i go to arcade.php,
it says

$bbuserinfo[username], you dont have enough permissions to view this page.

Ive set the permissions in the admin console, what can be causing this?

Kirk Y 09-23-2006 01:59 PM

Will this work on 3.5.5?

Normally it should work fine on it ;)

Kirk Y 09-23-2006 02:30 PM

Nope, no go for me. John is using the 'executionorder' field, which 3.5.x lacks, so it won't install. :(

Shame, I really needed the ability for my Guests to play the Arcade.

Zowners 09-23-2006 04:32 PM

i feel stupid i cant seem to install it = /
ii cant import the .xml for some reason

edit: i get these errors

warning: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /admincp/plugin.php(1924) : eval()'d code on line 3

Fatal error: (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/.greybear/paramorefans/paramorefans.com/boards/admincp/plugin.php(1924) : eval()'d code on line 3

Can someone explain the steps to allow guests to play but not record scores? Can't seem to find it.

Thank you.

alyster4k 09-24-2006 03:06 AM

Installed this new version for us (from the old 3.0.8 install) and got it to work after working with it. Great job on the new look/features.

Two issues:
  • We have a dark style board and the Add to Favorites icon next to the game name looks bad on a dark background. Is there any icons made for a dark background?
  • Also, the time and date in the News & Events block is black and nearly impossible to read. Where do I change this at?
Thanks!

Lottis 09-24-2006 08:21 AM

Works great, John. *thumbs up*

thetootall 09-24-2006 03:25 PM

Upgraded from 1.0.6 to 1.0.7 no problem :)

Glad to see the v3Arcade forum is back up and running again!

aberg 09-24-2006 05:33 PM

seem as above.
Great mod and good support

Hi John,

Hope you heal up fast!

I'm currently running 3.5.4 and my includes/xml directory has:
bitfield_v3arcade
cpnav_v3arcade
hooks_v3arcade

LILMORA4 09-24-2006 08:44 PM

I installed but my games are not working? Help.

Gripemaster 09-25-2006 09:09 PM

My arcade is running fine, and it is wildly popular among my members. However, a couple of members have said they have been unable to submit their scores after playing a game. My first thought was session timeout from cookies if they haven't ticked "Remember Me" when logging in.

Ideas? :)

I think your first thought is correct. At least, that's the issue on my forum. When they tick "remember me" they stay logged in and are able to submit their high scores.

Durn. Still on 3.5.x myself and was really looking forward to this update. I guess I'll need to upgrade sooner rather than later. :hurt:

analog-x 09-25-2006 11:02 PM

Cool!!! I'm glad its back online!!!!

I've been holding off upgrading my vBulletin from 3.5.1 to the latest because I didnt want to break my Arcade :)

Now I can upgrade my vBulletin and not worry.

Wish I had read that, before I just attempted the upgrade. Grrrr!

And why would you release a new hack version, if you were gonna be offline for a week? I really don't get it. I think this is it...time to head to IBpro for good.

It's just too ignorant to see someone release an update for a hack, then just be gone for a week....

Anyone got that handy link to convert a v3 arcade to IBpro ? I'm off the V3 Arcade for good now.

Gripemaster 09-26-2006 01:39 PM

Anyone know of a good site to download and install more games for this arcade? (besides the V3Arcade site, I installed all of those) :)

It's an excellent, open-source hack. You can't really be angry at John for being unable to fully support the modification; he's not getting any revenue from it - so it's difficult to find time to support it.

I just wish there were a 3.5.x version... this thread was originally the 3.5.4 version, but it got changed to 3.6.x. :ermm:

Daky 09-27-2006 02:34 AM

:( i cant Challenge nobody anymore,... las nigh everything worked fine ,....

Thank you in advance
