Hey guys,

I think I'm missing something. I don't seem to have permissions to view Media.php. I've tried several options but I can't seem to get it fixed. Help!

Hello,
I can't comment on any video and several users are getting the "description too short" error. Videos upload just fine for me though so I have no idea what the problem might be.

The comment feature is not working since the update of the new CKE editor in vB. The developer has been online this month but has moved on to Xenforo so it is unknown if this will ever be updated and fixed.

Great mod! I love it!

I just need help with something, whenever I add new media and try to add a description on the editor or change the one it fetched from the source and try to click on "add Media" I get a popup saying that "the changes you made to the editor will not be saved" and I cannot add the video, I can't get past that, unless I leave the original text.

Followed the instructions, but am getting the error. It retrieves the video information fine and shows video. When I submit I get:

403 Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /media.php on this server.
Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Do you have any of Valters VSA modifications installed? It seems to be a permission error. Also you need to do the template and file edits to be able to comment on the videos and change the video details when you post a video, this change has been required since vbulletin 4.1.4 I believe.

I don't Jugg. I have vBookie, DragonByte Tech: vBShop (Lite), vB Tournaments, Ladders and Leagues Manager installed, but all of them are disabled.

While reading up on similar errors reported in this thread, it seems that other people with the same error have been able to fix it by re-uploading all the contents from the includes folder, try that and let me know if this fixes the issue you are having. Also make sure you CHMODDED the correct folders and files. Example
  1. CHMOD the /customVID/thumbs/ directory to full read/write/execute 777 permissions.
  2. CHMOD the /customVID/sitemap/ directory to full read/write/execute 777 permissions.

Thanks, I'll give it a go. Should I have installed 1.1 before 1.7 btw? It was a clean install.

I wouldn't think it would make a difference, I installed the latest version only, and it's working fine.

Having same problem unfortunately.

Getting 403 Fobidden and Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request now though.

I did a clean VB install.

Thanks, this moving to Xenforo, seems to be picking up some steam. That and the lack of mods being built or supported is starting to make Xenforo look like a pretty good option.

Still can't get to the bottom of my 403 Forbidden problem when clicking Submit Media. Have done a clean VB install with no mods. A clean 1.7 install. Set all the permissions as per instructions. Have contacted my host who has checked the logs and hasn't found any errors of permission denials server side.

Help would be greatly appreciated. www.tapgo.co.uk

I've searched throughout this thread, this post might be able to help you, I am out of ideas, also did you upload or make the changes to your .htaccess file? are you using the seo url's? Here's the post I mentioned that might help you.

Hi mate. I've made those changes to no avail. Still get forbidden message, although after adding the .htaccess I get a 500 error instead of a 404. Don't have SEO urls set.

Lo Jugg, just wanted to let you know that I resolved the media.php permission problem. It turned out to be some security rules with my host. Thanks a lot for your help over the past few days.

Now, my mission is to get JW player videos working :)

Just wanted to post to say this mod does work in 4.1.5 with the edits found within this thread. Thanks to all the people who've posted the fixes.

The only thing I have an issue with on 4.1.5 is that tags aren't imported when info is retrieved.

The most up-to-date youtube.xml had the line for tags:

The solution to get the tags working is to remove [value]. You can do this in administrate services.

Right, the only problem that remains on 4.1.5 with all the fixes detailed in this thread is that when you use the submit media from the sub navbar (takes you to submit.php), clicking the retrieve information does not retrieve the youtube description.

If you go to your media.php and use the retrieve information link at the bottom of that page, the description is retrieved from youtube fine.

Currently looking for the problem and solution. If anyone knows the solution feel free to shout it out :) Cheers

The author has pretty much moved on to another forum software full time. Hence the reason this is marked Unsupported now.
