okay yeah, i found out a bit ago it was that :P but for the key...... im not sure how to fix it so i downgraded the RPG so it will work untill this bug is fixed..

Also... No one can use an item in battle for some reason... it says that nobody has an item.... when in fact we all do...

And just a minor problem, it's not that I care or anything, but in battle some people's names are numbers.. like mine is 2147470872... odd

One of the edits in showthread.php did not properly execute. Send me your showthread.php and I will fix it.

Admin CP -> Edit Items -> Click on the [Edit] Link next to an Item Category name -> Set the battle type.

Do the following:
1. Go to your admin panel
2. Go to modify user profile fields
3. Find the RPG Name profile field
4. Right click over the edit link and go to copy shortcut
6. Copy it in your browser
7. Near the end there will be a number. Remember that number
8. Go to edit the battle options
9. In the top option put in field# and replace number with the number you recorded in step 7.

If that doesn't work, then try:
1. Go to your admin panel

4. Right click over the edit link and go to copy shortcut
6. Copy it in your browser
7. Near the end there will be a number. Remember that number
8. Go to edit the itemshop options

If neither of those work, then you could be more specific as to whose names are numbers?

Yo bitsys long time no talk.
What code would I have to add to make it so only certain usergroups can visit the rpg pages, Note this is for all rpg pages, so itemshop battle ect.
And where do i put the code.

Ok, I guess it wasn't the different versions of Vb software. I got the same problems. You see, in forum display, the links show up. I click on the links (to the thread) and the postbits don't show up. Now go back to the forum display, I click on the little icon that goes to the last post. The post bit does show up BUT only the last post. Now in the post bit it puts me up as guest.

Any ideas?

Can you send me the error report? I need to know what the error actually was. The error report is usually sent to the admin's e-mail.

In heal.php, battle.php, battlefight.php, and itemshop.php, find something like:

All you have to do is add:

See if you are experiencing one of the following symptoms:
  • All of my users are being labeled as "Guest" in the postbit template.
  • No posts are showing up.
  • None of the RPG variables will display in the postbit. The element/gender/class images are broken.
  • I get database errors when I go to showthread.php

If you are experiencing one or more of the above problems, then your showthread.php file was not edited correctly by the installer. This problem usually occurs on boards with other hacks installed that modify the queries in showthread.php. Please do the following:

In showthread.php, find the following code 2 times:

attachment.attachmentid,attachment.filename,attachment.visible AS attachmentvisible,attachment.counter 
and AFTER it, add the following (ONLY IF IT IS NOT THERE ALREADY):

In showthread.php, find the following code 2 times:

LEFT JOIN rpg_element ON rpg_element.elementid=user.element
LEFT JOIN rpg_race ON rpg_race.raceid=user.rpgrace AND rpg_race.alignmentid=user.alignment 
Do not forget to do ALL of the above edits 2 times!

After doing all of this, run DB Fix.

If all of the code is there, then you may have a different problem. However, doing the above edits will rectify problems in 95% of the cases.

Nope that didn't work bah :(

As far as the other problem... I've had so many in the last while that I'll let it be until it happens again...

Any other ideas... it's not just the images not showing up, its also the stats and money and crap

EDIT: the file edits weren't there

So you tried doing the file edits to showthread.php and it didn't work? Were the file edits there or not?

Have you tried running DB Fix?

EDIT: I'm guessing the problem lyies in member.php file, no? Because in showthread.php, I re-edited and the posts show up, but still under guest, when it comes to member info, doesn't it consern the member.php file? Just a thought. =/

Are you sure you did all of the edits both times?

Did you try running DB Fix?

This isn't a problem with member.php since it doesn't control which usergroup you are in.

Ah, THAT'S what I was missing. It's fixed now. Thanks alot Bitsys. ^_^ I'll report again if anything happens.

EDIT: Found something. Sigs won't show up. The tag for sigs is in the template, I have sigs active from Admin CP, I have sigs active in my userCP options. Should I send you the showthread.php file? I have the lesane store hack installed.

i have the guess problem also. About everyday or so I have to run a DB Fix and it gets on my nervs some times.. I did everything in post 2261 and all the file edits were there. Is this fixable or will I just have to do the DB Fix all the time to fix the geust problem?

I fixed my problem but I have one more... potions don't work, exactly what do I have to set the battle types for those items to say to make them work... they don't work for anyone... in battle it says I have elixir, but when I go to use it, it just refreshes and nothing has happened

Alrighty, two things I gotta point out.

One. Entering an RPG Battle. When I try to, no matter what, having the right password or not, I get "Invalid Password or Battle Name" or something like that. But then I noticed, looking at the PM:

Notice there is no password. There is suppose to be one, right?

2, for some reason ,when I modify my RPG Character, I have "*"'s in RPG Class. Does that mean something?

FYI,

We had a user that managed to hack into his bank account and
"deposted" 64,000,000 gil.
He then made mass donations, and almost destroyed the economy.
Still trying to figure out how he did it...

Don't think your member hacked into the bank account..
What hack version do you have?

We had the same problem at my boards a while ago, but we figured out how it was done:

The user deposit all his/her gil in the bank, then withdraws all his/her gil. The result should be that the users bank deposit is "0", but there was a bug.. The bug redeposited the same amount as the user withdrew, dubling the gil he/she has..

You can foget about the Sig problem. Somehow that was fixed. I think my co-admin had something to do with it. *shrugs* In any case, I still have that "Invalid Password" problem even though he actually did put a password.

I get several problems when I installed the hack I've listed them and really need some help!

#1: The RPG fields appear in the required information AND the optional information. How do I fix that?

#2: When a user posts a topic their post doesnt appear, and when someone replys to the topic it over-writes the post above. So basically every topic has 1 post. This is seriously wierd and I need help!

#3: The postbit doesn't update and the images don't have names when it trys to load them (it comes up as images/classes/mclasses/.gif)

#4: The postbit also displays the points as 0 for every user even if they have 2000. Basically the postbit is really screwed.

I'm sure theirs more errors, I followed the install instructions prefectly. Can someone please help? Or even if I reset it install it for me?
