How do you remove the "Remove advertisements" button that appears under your advertisment?

cause when i click it,it takes me to a screen about recovering my password or editing my rpofile.

I can't import the english language file.
If i try to import him, vb say that the file is not valid (the file in the zip file, under language folder).
Any ideas ?

In regards to ForumBit advertising, I am having a hard time deciding which areas need modification and which areas do not.

My Scenario:
I have two 88x31 files (VendorA.gif and VendorB.gif)
I want VendorA.gif to show up on the forumbit for ForumID 1,
I want VendorB.gif to show up on the forumbit for ForumID 2.

How do I accomplish this simple task? It seems that if I put the $forumbit_advertisement in the forumbit area, I will see the .gif layed out across EVERY forum (1-20). However, there aren't templates for each forumID, so this must be the only way. I can only assume that I have to work some magic in the AdManagement CP with reagrds to conditionals, calling VendorA.gif only for forumID 1, and VendorB.gif only for forumID 2. However, I am not sure how to do this, as there is only one box in which to place adcode (VendorA.gif and VendorB.gif)

Please note I used the two gif files for ease of reference. I am actually trying to implement this in association with OpenAds, so each advertisement (one per forum) is a large chunk of code.

I'm having a very odd problem. For some reason, all of a suddent I can't change anything in the "header/navbar" area. I wanted to change my ads, but when I delete the old ads, and pase in my new ad, after I hit save, it goes back to the old one. I tried turning the header off, but when I hit save, it says its saved, but its back on. What happened?

Some forumbit shows the ads with blank rows after it... Any errors somewhere?

At work so havnt uploaded any files to the FTP yet (this might be why im having problems)

But when the mod is enabled (i have only uploaded the english and vb_ad_management xml files), my forum index and all other pages (except admincp..) are just plain white...? Not panicing yet but might when I upload the files and it still does this. :confused: On latest version of vb, 3.6.8

Man, 3.13 worked just fine. should of never uninstalled that version :)

I had the same problem and I pooped my pants but investigated a little and found that the upload files tree structure was slightly out. You need to upload each folder seperately to the correct place. For example: /forum/includes/ to /forum/includes/ results in a new /includes/ folder being created within the existing /includes/ folder - an extra layer which throws everything off kilter.

Go through the uploads again and manually ensure that they go the the right place and all should be well.

Mod installed fine, but here is my problem.

I ahve 2 banners, one is a JPEG and the other a SWF. How do I upload these to the Ad Management? Or do i FTP them to my site??

If I FTP them, how do I tell Ad Management where they are??

Would love to get this mod working, and I know its easy to all you whizz kids !! but I would really appreciate a help

I just don't get, why don't you create a tutorial based on real example, not having a exeample code?

Hello RedTyger, great hack, install went without a hitch and the plugin is working as advertised :)

There is one question that I have, and even though I'm sure other users might have asked it before me, I did a search on this thread and came up empty: how can we change the username of the "user" that posts the advertisments in the threads?

As you can see from the attached screenshot, right now it's the name of the forum (the default option I assume), which unfortunately is too long and ruins our postbit_legacy layout.

We managed to remove the "Remove advertisments" link by editing the phrase, but came up short when we searched for the username.

True, we can disable the ad template integration, but we kinda' wish to keep that option as a last resort.

Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated :)

I installed this mod last night and it works great. Thanks, this is something I've really wanted for a long time and never looked for until now. It is well done and almost exactly what I needed.

However, I have a problem. I created a custom ad block and it works fine. However, when I put anything in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. custom ad block positions and click save, it reloads the page in the CP and they are blank. The first one stays there, but no matter what I put in the others, it simply does not save anything when I try to update the ad block, even though it says "Settings saved successfully" or whatever.

Also, a feature that would be really cool by the way (if you want any suggestions) would be to specify a different ad code for specific themes -- like the header ad uses a different Google Adsense code in one theme than the other, allowing you to better match your ads to the templates without creating tons of custom modules. Thanks.

I'm having trouble getting my ads to show on the forum.

I go into VB Ad Management | Header & NavBar and put in my code in the NavBar adcode section. The ads even preview fine underneath this. But they are still not showing in the forum.

As for the NavBar template...currently, I put in the following:

I went into "Navigation/BreadCrumb Templates | navbar " and coded 1 line at the very top of the navbar screen above the breadcrumb:

$navbar_advertisement
<!-- breadcrumb -->

This is the only line I inserted in that navbar area. Did I do this wrong?

This mod is really great, I had it installed and working fine.
But I'm 100% newbie on this HTML stuff and getting some hard times trying to understand some stuff.

I trying to include 5 pics on my header and make them rotating every 30 secs, I aprearently made the adcodes right and paste them like this on the correct field:

When running this thing all the 5 pics are showed correctly but between every pic refreshes the header show me a blank image. What am I doing wrong ?

Can some one tell me how to associante hyperlinks to images using the above example ?

Last thing, does someone here created a mod or somenthing to make a kind of click statistics for the ads ? I know openads can do that and it's free but this mod is so cool and work so good for Vb that I don't want to fry my brain to use openads.

For some reason I have some problems with postbit ads. No matter what I do I can't get them to display on any other page than the first one.
So if I set the ads to be displayed after first post on each page, they only display on the first page, and all the other pages are ad-free. Any ideas?

why when ever i enable a ad I get a mysql error on every page.

I do not think this mod is supported any longer. It's been awhile since the developer has answered any questions.

Ok, I have a customer that wants to adversite by providing me a link to a php file. This php file then automatically randomizes the banner he sends for his advertisement. Problem is I can't seem to find the right syntax to get this mod to pull the banner.

The link to the banner.php is this:

If you load that directly in your browser, and reload you will see it gives you one of 2 banners..

I'm using this to show an ad after every 9 posts for all usergroups except 38 (VIP).

It works in all cases except the ad in the footer... that shows to all users no matter what I think.

Any ideas on how to fix this?
