hbalagh1 03-03-2006 04:42 PM

did you add the htaccess file

jamshed 03-03-2006 04:56 PM

yea man!

forte 03-03-2006 05:20 PM

@jamshed, have you edited the htaccess file with the location of your forums?

Anyway, all the links that has -newpost.html seems to just direct me to t--.html

jamshed 03-03-2006 05:42 PM

The htaccess is at forum location and below is the code of htaccess...

Code:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^(.*)/t-(.*)-(.*)/go=(.*) showthread.php?t=$3&goto=$4&is_vrewrite=yes[L]
RewriteRule ^(.*)/p-(.*)-(.*).html showthread.php?p=$3&is_vrewrite=yes[L]
RewriteRule ^f-(.*)-(.*)-page(.*).html forumdisplay.php?f=$2&page=$3&order=desc&is_vrewrite=yes [L]
RewriteRule ^f-(.*)-(.*).html/page(.*)daysprune(.*)-order(.*)-sort(.*) forumdisplay.php?f=$2&page=$3daysprune=$4&order=$5&sort=$6&is_vrewrite=yes [L]
RewriteRule ^f-(.*)-(.*).html/daysprune(.*)-order(.*)-sort(.*) forumdisplay.php?f=$2&daysprune=$3&order=$4&sort=$5&is_vrewrite=yes [L]
RewriteRule ^f-(.*)-(.*).html forumdisplay.php?f=$2&is_vrewrite=yes [L]
RewriteRule ^u-(.*)-(.*).html member.php?u=$2&is_vrewrite=yes [L]
RewriteRule ^(.*)-(.*)-newpost.html showthread.php?goto=newpost&t=$2 [L]
RewriteRule ^(.*)/t-(.*)-(.*)-page(.*).html showthread.php?t=$3&page=$4&is_vrewrite=yes [L]
RewriteRule ^(.*)/t-(.*)-(.*).html showthread.php?t=$3&is_vrewrite=yes [L]
RewriteRule ^markread.html forumdisplay.php?do=markread [L]
RewriteRule ^(.*)/p-(.*)-(.*).html#(.*) showthread.php?p=$3#post$4 [L]

If you run your vB on a directory from a subdomain or root ex: http:///www.yoursite.com/forum or http://subdomain.site.com/forum you will need to open up the .htacess file and change Rewrite Base / to Rewrite Base /yourdir

My forum for example can be found on /forums so the second line of the htaccess file is

Code:

RewriteBase /forums

oh, dude thanks, but another problem, that 404 error has gone but another problem arrived ..

here also, newpost.html direct to t--.html .. and also the links at top which for example are :

Forums - General Talk (Section) - Hello All (thread)

These quick links at top are not working...

Immortal 03-03-2006 06:37 PM

Uhhh....weird, it should work? There is a known bug with newpost, but that's only that it doesn't go to the correct page, and sometimes it goes to a random thread. I'll try and post a temporary fix in a few hours until 1.01 is released.

jamshed 03-03-2006 06:46 PM

OK thanks, we'll be waiting :)

tercede 03-03-2006 09:25 PM

in 3.5.4 I get this error:
Quote:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING, expecting T_NEW or T_STRING or T_VARIABLE or '$' in /home/ttuohy/public_html/forums/inlinemod.php(220) : eval()'d code on line 3

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/ttuohy/public_html/forums/inlinemod.php(220) : eval()'d code:3) in /inlinemod.php on line 627
I had to turn off the "merge fix" in the plugin manager of inlinemod_start hook. Is this bug known? I mean, the merge fix is suppose to fix the merge issue but it creates an issue when someone tries to delete a post/thread I believe...

Immortal 03-03-2006 10:23 PM

Yah, I think I changed something I shouldn't of before the release

Thanks for reporting it. It should be fixed in the next release.
