Ah, that's a shame. I wrote the original mod 5 years ago, but I don't have the latest version of vBulletin (my forum is 3.6.8).

well, enough people want this mod updated that I am positive that you would receive more than enough in donations to purchase the latest version of vb ;)

btw, thank you for the original mod.. it is by far my favorite all time mod. It deserves a spot in the Hall of Fame of Modifications :up:

I have this working with vb 3.8.1, but it won't let me move past Page 1 of the Settled bets or the Closed bets. When I select say Page 2 it just remains on the first page. I am sure I found the solution to this somewhere in here, but can't for the life of me find it again! Any ideas

This will definately work for you. I have left off showing the points in the postbit and the link in the navbar. If you need to add these the code is the same as the original.

that worked a treat, and i'm using vbcredits without any issues

Higot one small issue I have a member named L'Raine and she can earn points but when someone tries to donate we get a database error with the username having the @ in it, see error below

Invalid SQL:
update frmuser set vbookie_cash = vbookie_cash + '500' where username = 'l'raine';

you can see the ' is causing a problem, this happened when I tried donating manually from admincp

The reason is pretty simple: Code Quality.

In order to rework this into a decent quality modification, a major refactoring (ending up in a total rewrite) would be necessary.

Unfortunately I do not have the time to do so.

Whenever i SET THE USERGROUP OPTIONS FOR A USERGROUP IN VBOOKIE TO YES ..(ALL 3) WHEN I SET ALL 3 OPTIONS OF VBOOKIE TO YES ON THE USERGROUP PERMISSIONS THEY DONT GET SET TO YES ..IT SAYS SAVED SUCCESSFULLY BUT THE NEXT TIME I VIEW THE OPTIONS THEY ARE BACK TO NO OTHER THAN YES AUTOMATICALLY ....IT HAPPENS ONLY ON THE VBOOKIE OPTIONS ..CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME HERE ? I HAVE INSTALLED VBOOKIE ON 3.8.1 AND EDITED THE PLUGIN CODE AS WELL AND DONE ALL TEMPLATE EDITS PERFECCTLY ...PLEASE HELP ME GUYS ...

hello,

i have one problem. only admin and super mods can do betting. but normal users cant do any betting. i have given permissions for each and every usergroup but still normal user cant bet . how can i make certain user groups to make bet

Same sort of thing you can update through user panel, you didn't specify what credits system you were using so i only said the one i was using - unless you be specific people can't help.

- Does anyone have this actually working 100% properly on 3.8.2?

- Onlinejalsa - have you looked through usergroup permissions and rebuilt the bitfields?

How about trying to link it up with Ladbooks, William Hill? A bit like the "About Today" mod where you can see the list of sporting events and then just click "Create Vbookie event" and it will automatically create an event using the current odds offered on their webiste.

Also when you go to create a new event in a vbookie forum, abolish the need to create a title, write something and then click on the "Yes, post a vbookie event with this thread" - Make it so it goes straight to the vbookie page - If that makes sense.

I installed this in 3.8.2 but my only problem is that when you check the box "Yes, post a vBookie Event with this thread" it sends you back to the page like you just created a regular thread...

Now I would like to know how to remove "iCash" from the navbar.. When I went to the navbar template, and did a search for "iCash" it said "not found"...

I would like to replace "icash" to "vbookie"

for each style you have installed upload vbookie_posticon.gif to each misc folder.

Hi. I got everything working fine, but when I cancel a bet out, no one who bet gets their money back. Anyone know how to fix this?

Hi there,

Got this installed and all is up and running. Members are able to post a new event to bet on and are able to bet/settle bets.

However, when members are betting, their vCash doesn't go down and automatically returns to 500 vCash even after betting and losing their cash.

Any ideas how to fix this? I've not been 'giving to the poor' or anything like that...

If you'd add an option to settle bets with more than one Winner checked in the winning column, then it could be fairly effective for horse racing. We've been using it for horse racing in my forum, but the only bet that can be made is Win. There's no payout for Place or Show unless you create three separate events for the same race, and then there's the issue of three horses paying Show money. If there was an option to click "Number of Winners" and select a number, then I'd click "3" and it would calculate the Show payouts for all three... in the Place event I'd click "2" to get the payouts. Actually, if it had an option to calculate the odds by a percentage like "Pay 50% odds" or "Set Percentage Payout", that would be perfect for the Place or Show payouts in a horse racing event.

Our currency of choice is Reputation Points and it works only if the vCash option or one of the other cash options is selected in CP Admin. If one of those options isn't selected, it doesn't do the calculations. Of course that means having the "vCash 500" icon sitting there useless and meaningless, but it does deduct or add Reputation Points.

There are lots of other options I'd like to see, but this could be a really popular add-on if it's done right and has enough available options. It's got the foundation of one.

EDIT: Another option that needs to be added - desperately needs to be added - is the option to change your bet before the bet cut-off expires. Several people in my forum have accidentally placed the wrong bet and wanted to change it, but they're basically out of luck if they do make the wrong bet. To me it seems that's a necessary option.
