Fillip, thanks for the reply.

The button says NO, but it still shows up on the forums shoutbox.

Hello Filip,

I am using Vbulletin 4.2.When I am importing the xml file I am getting this error.

Works OK in the default skin. I've changed the setting you suggested. Where else could it be breaking?

I am unable to confirm this issue. Please note that the "Active Users" tab can not be disabled, it's only the sideblock in the shoutbox.

Need one more help,
If one user choose one color in Shout box he is getting the same color for other users shout even they choose different color.

Hi Fillip,

I was able to install the Shoutbox perfectly fine and it;s working great, but it tells me and my members from time to time that there is an "Error: You don't have permission to make a shout" or something like that. I installed this last night, and so far it's happened once to myself today, once to another member today, and once last night to another member, but after about 5 minutes or so it goes away, and once I logged into my ACP it went away for me too, while it went away automatically after about 2 minutes or so for them.

The permissions have been set to allowing all users that are not unregistered or nit logged in or banned to be able to access the shoutbox and post shouts. Any idea why this is happening?

There's nothing in the mod that I can think of that would randomly change permissions - the checks are 100% identical each time they're run.

Error messages appear for 5 seconds before disappearing - did you mean the issue itself persisted for 2-5 minutes?

Well I'm not so sure it is the permissions randomly being changed as it is that when you become idle instead of giving yo the option to become un-idle it glitches and instead treats you as a non-logged in user, just a thought though because I found it strange that it accepted my posts right after I logged in to my AdminCP.

Yes, it kept on going until I logged into my ACP and then it just magically went away. As for my members, I would assume it happened for about 2-5 minutes, yes.

Well I told them to try that, and I logged out and logged back in with that enabled. So far they don't seem to be having anymore problems, and I have yet to encounter another session-log-out with the Shoutbox even though up until now I haven't had Remember Me on at all so the problem only occurred once and never came back for me at least. One guy who was using his Wii to access it kept having the problem and so I told him to log out and log back in with the Remember Me on. So far it seems to be working. If I have any more issues with it I will be sure to ask you.

At this point in time I don't believe I can make the mod compatible with temporary sessions (i.e. without that box) - to do so would mean breaking the WOL (users would never be seen as inactive, giving a false impression of who's actually online).

Yeah that is true, because then it would record everyone who has ever been online as still being online, which is definitely a false impression of that. On the other hand, you could make it work with longer temporary sessions if you wanted to, to give users who haven't checked that box to have a longer time online before they are considered to be logged out.

Hi bro , i have a big probleme :( , i installed and configured my shoutbox , but my forum freeze (Bug) for som seconde each refresh page on forum home ! (shoutbox loading and during the loading time , all forum freeze (can't move anything (bug) )

That's not a bug - your computer sounds like it's very old and can't handle advanced AJAX scripts. How old is it?

hello I installed this and I am not getting access to the notifications tab, I have the highest permissions on the board and still never get access, I do get some errors in my email that says.

MySQL Error : Unknown column 'phrasegroup_dbtech_usertag' in 'field list'

I also got this one

I checked the language table and those fields where there.

the shoutbox works I just don't get to edit the notification settings for some reason.

Is this an upgrade or a fresh install? Are you sure you dragged and dropped the contents of the upload folder to your forum folder exactly as described?

Also, to fix those SQL errors, re-import the XML files for AUT and vBShout.

hello, I uninstalled it, everything was working fine before then, when I re installed everything these problems occurred. everything was uploaded and I installed the xml... what is AUT?

AUT is Advanced User Tagging - one of the error messages indicates that you either have it installed or have had it installed but did not remove all the files when you uninstalled it.

yeagh I imported those XML files only leads to the same problem, the link that is being called is vbshout.php?do=permissions

i checked my permissions and everything.

i think i may have some duplicate url issues because we recently switched host but everything was working until i did the uninstall/reinstall. it's the notification feature that is messing up.

edits.

i just changed the url to vbshout.php?do=notifications and it worked don't know whats up with the other way.

Please try following the instructions in the 5.4.0 Upgrade Notes.txt and see if that helps.

Yes that is very much a problem. Reset it to 20 shouts and 5 second refresh.

You can edit the various jQuery templates in the dbtech_vbshout_shoutbox template if you want to change the time colour purely for the shoutbox.
