Now for the bad news....

My site has been hacked and the posts have been deleted.
What do I need to do to restore them, using the backup this mod made?

At a guess I would imagine you need to go to phpMyAdmin and import the post table

Basically as above, to restore you must import the data back into mysql, using whatever methods are available to you (ssh is best).

Fix the error in your config file is what you do. :)

Whatever you edited (on line 14 I would guess) has a mistake in it that you need to correct.
