Sorry for the late-ish reply...
I don't see a "minimum posts limitation" setting.
I have "shouts to display" set to 75, and "minimum time between shouts" set to 3.

One of the people who can't see the box has a completely up to date gaming computer, so that makes it stranger that he can't see it.

Here's the canned reply for putting the SB in a custom location:

To put vBShout in a custom location, do the following:

Step 1: AdminCP -> DBTech - vBShout-> Instance Management -> [Edit].

Step 2: Change the Auto-Display Shoutbox setting to Disabled.

Step 3: Write down the the Varname setting. For the default shoutbox, it's instance1. The rest of this guide will assume you replace instance1 with the actual Varname if it is different.

Step 4: Enter the Style Manager and add either {vb:raw show.vbshout_instance1} (vB4) or {$show[vbshout_instance1]} (vB3) to the templates you wish the shoutbox to appear in.

Follow these steps as described and you will have total control over the position of the Shoutbox.
Please note that some locations may not work as intended on vBulletin 3.8, and also note that it is not designed to go in the Forum Blocks side-bar (vBulletin 4).

Now instead of editing ALL skins, edit only the skin you want THIS shoutbox to appear in.

Then I have no idea.

Are there any common denominators between the users who report they can't see it? Using a particular skin, all members of the same usergroup(s), etc?

Hello,

which stylevar use DBTech for font-size? I have a really smal font-size on my them and i want to make them bigger but dont know how.

Maybe you can tell me the font-size, which vBShout use?

Is there a way to have all the files served as part of this mod to only be served to members that are logged in?

The reason I ask is because my site usually has a number of guests online, and guests cannot view the shoutbox. Even though the shoutbox is completely disabled for guests, a number of files still load for guests including:

dbtech_vbshout.css
dbtech_vbshout_colours.css
dbtech_vbshout_editor.css
jquery.tmpl.min.js
vbshout.js?v=610

They are not very big files, but they are still 3 additional CSS and 2 additional Java files that each person must load, on every page.

It's not using a stylevar, just the normal forum's font size.

It's 11px. Changing the size per-user is a Pro-only feature :)

I am not DBT but I can help you since I am here.

You can do this by putting the below code in one of your common templates such as header or footer. If you have more than one shoutbox, change the number at the end to match your instance. A good place for it would be at the very bottom of the header template, or very top of the footer template.

My theme is a darker theme and for some reason I went from an older version of DBTech VBShout to the new 6.0. the old vbshout default font color and time color went with the theme, but when I upgraded to the 6.0 it's black (Does not work at all with my website (Dark theme)), I can't seem to find out how to edit this. I'm running the Lite version, any help?
(I have to install a new Chat Box while I await a response but would prefer to use this one!)

I downloaded VBShoutv6 and followed there installation guide.

I imported the xml file like it said to plugins/products and it is showing up.

But the next step says go to forum options, but I cant see the shoutbox there at all.

Use the manual deployment instructions in the mod to put it in the Navbar template.

shout area is greyed out. I can type a shout, hit enter and it looks ok, but you can't view it.

Any ideas?

The input area works off of two StyleVars:
input_background and control_focus_background. The first is before the user selected the input area, and the 2nd is while the user is typing.

The actual shouts' background area works off of the postbit_background StyleVar.

^ Thanks for the reply. However, the background shouldn't matter unless my text was the same color... problem is, no text is showing there. It's not a matter of them being the same color. Nothing is showing up. I've even uninstalled and reinstalled it.

I love this shoutbox. I'm using something else at the moment, but I really miss the features of your box.
