Custom templates?

Well, I do have custom templates. But it doesn't show on the default.
I tried editing the plugin but couldn't find the code that's listed in the readme.

If it doesn't work on the untouched default, you haven't set the options correctly.

Any idea what options would need to be set, besides show Above Forums?

Hey VBdev, I checked her forum out. Everything is set right. Did a full uninstall, reinstall.... Only place it doesn't work is on the forum home. It's not even injecting code into index.php. Any thoughts?

Another good news today ! I have improved the chatbox performances as suggested by a user a long time ago.

Only needed chats will now be retrieved upon refresh. Currently, all chats were retrieved at each refresh thus slowing down the refresh when lots of chats are displayed in the chatbox.

This should drastically increase the speed of the chatbox.

I still have to manage edited chat and solve a javascript blocking issue but that should be good :)

I think I'll release a new version of the chatbox next week.

second im runing the chat but also im runing the Left side column on forum home only and ill like to make the chat dimensions as the forums so it wont put my Left side column under the chat.

Is it possible to let the chat load in collapsed mode?
Does the chat run in inactive mode, when collapsed?

No it's not design to do so.

The inactive mode doesn't apply to the collapsed mode and as no reason to.
The collapsed mode is only a way for user not to see the chatbox but only last X messages.

I don't think I am the one to do that. If you mean adding the number of chats for the computation of the experience in vBExeperience, you should rather ask the developper of the mod to add that functionnality.

I think that you should use the style issue fix for that purpose.
This would thus allow you to put the chatbox exactly where you want it to appear.

Generally the problem comes from an error of installation.

Which version of vB do you own ?

3.7.2. installed 0.5 according to the instructions.

If you look at the consol error in firefox, does it say anything ?

Hi - our chatbox has been working fantastic, and is the most popular part of our site, but in the past week many of our members have said it isn't working - it just keeps saying "Loading" but the chat never shows up. It seems very intermittent - some members can use it fine, others it won't work. And a few minutes later it works again.

I have done all the upgrades today just to see if that helped, but its still happening. Any ideas?

OK You know how normally a user has to hit the BBCODE button to get the Fonts, Links, EMail, Image buttons to show up? Well I would like to make it so that the BBCODE buttons ALWAYS show up. I've got a buncha members all wondering where to change their font color and add images etc. So if the BBCODE buttons were always there, I think it would help resolve the issue a little.

I seen that there is an option to make it so that if the users click on BBCODE that it will always stay there even when they log out and log back in, but I think it's that initial getting them to click on it first, and I don't have time to help school every member on how things work.

Sooo I figure that there must be some sorta query that I can run so that it will make it so that the BBCODE buttons show up automatically for EVERY member. Does that make sense?

Anibody now how can i do to delete these "<" ">" in the chat box?

Under edit options of the chat box select chat display and then under that option there is an option "HTML Code for the usernames display". In that option you can remove teh brackets.

Will the issue with the PM alert not working on be fixed with the next release?

Yeah just like skywalker said, just go into Chats Display, under the MGC Chatbox EVO options list.. Goto the section that says "HTML Code for the usernames display" and it should have this in the field...

In fact it's in their usercp so unless they don't look at the options offered by the software, they can find it.

Yes it does make sense but there is no query for that. The only thing would be to make a change in the code to display the BBCODE bar collapsed by default.

When you receive a pm you are suppose to get a pop-up saying you have received a pm, but I don't get the pop-up anymore even then I have it checked saying I want to receive the pop-up. It only happens on the pages I have the chat box on.

Plus I still receive this error "mgc_cb_evo_autocomplete is not defined" on all pages that don't have the chatbox. Could this be related to the PM pop-up?

Hmm... timestamp randomly began showing the month -1 last night (it says today: 6/08/08).

It would be great if it where possible to only show who's chatting to certain usergroups. So even though they cant see the chatbox, they can still see there's activity. Please add this function.

Anyone know what might prevent 5.0 from working on 2 out of the 6 styles I have? 4.0 works pretty well on all but when I update to 5, apparently there's a conflict where BlockUI.js stays blocking and I have to refresh to get control back to my browser...

I'd really like to update and I don't mind modifying the two templates (one of the two is the one my users selected as the default...)

Any ideas on what I can tear up next?

If you want certain usergroups to see who's online in the chatbox then give them the right to the chatbox. This is to specific sorry.

When BlockUI.js stays blocking which error do you get ?

In those 2 styles, are there any specific javascript features like jquery ?

Does the firefox consol error shows you specific error messageS ?

Thanks for the quick response. I moved back to version 4 as my users (what few they are) consider this the number one feature ever in a Vb board!

I don't have firefox but would be more than happy to go get it if it would help fix me up..

Oddly enough, there's no error that I can detect: As an example, if I want to enter a url or image, I click the approriate icon, the screen dims (similar to log off), the foreground entry box pops up as expected and if I hit cancel (for instance) - the entry box goes away but the screen and cursor never return.. If I refresh the entire page, all is well again...

I know I'm grasping at staws here as it obvious the product is perfect in all the other styles. I can't locate anything in the two oddballs that would interfere but will keep looking.

Perhaps I should wait and see what happens with a newer version later?
