I turned notifications off and the problem magically disappeared.

I tunred notifications off because in Firefox at least, haven't tried in other browsers... If I was typing a message in a forum edit box in a different tab from where the shoutbox was running my editor would freeze for several seconds, sometimes 20 or 30 seconds, every time a new notification was posted. So turning the notifications off cured that problem and also cured the shout delete problem.

I am able to reproduce both problems if anyone is interested.

OK I Just Installed 2.4 Ver Of Chat Box! WooHoo!
Great News the Chatbox Now Shows up on all the pages I specified including the IBProArcade. Woot!
Now For the Bad News :( My BB Code Nor Smilies Columns will show up no matter what I do to try and get them to show up. ( Moving Chatbox on Page, Moving The Input Field) If I am on a different page Like Member page or Arcade , clicking one of the BB Code Or The Smilies Icon will bring me back to my forum Home Page.
Another big issue is when first bringing up a page the chatbox will not populate until you hit the refresh button.
This Has the same problems on Firefox, Chrome & IE and Multiple Computers, Let Me know if you want me to try anything. I am a Paid BF Member. (2borno2b) :D
Separating the notifications from Chatbox was a good idea except it does not put the notifications next to the chat box instead it puts it at the top of the forum. Not Good nor beneficial. Here's An Idea Have The Notification Window Below Chatbox Like The BB Code And Smilies option. Users can Turn it on Or Off Just Like The BB Code or The Smilies. ;)
Hence I have reverted back to 2.32 , and the chatbox is still working on all assigned pages. WooHoo!

nice hack. installed on a fresh copy of 3.8.3 and works well except for when I make a shout. if I type test it has a smilie between each letter typed. any thoughts?

Oh you meant that !!! Well then answer is no it hasn't been implemented and will never be due to the way it's coded.

No only usergroup permissions to talk with the bot.

Please don't make support message for 2.4.0 here as this version of the chatbox hasn't been released yet.

I think the chats doesn't dissapear but you're encountering the issue of chats and notifications in the same query. If you don't tick the option to separate the queries that retrieve the notifications and the chats then you'll have less chats shown if more posts or threads have been posted since the latests chats. Do you see whqat I mean ?

This was experienced with early 2.4.0 versions. Are you sure you're having the latest zip ?

No there are options to either show it in a sidebar or inside the chatbox. It's up to you. I think you might not have used the right option, do you ?

PS: as for the other user: please don't ask for 2.4.0 support here it hasn't been released here yet.

2.4.0 news :

As most of you certainly know, the chatbox 2.4.0 version is not yet released here.

It has been released since 2 weeks for BF owners in order to release a free of bug version here so please be patient :) This will take a bit of time as I am going to be on holidays for the 2 coming weeks.
