we can help you on our site or here, but generally if you don't know how to ftp then there would be I would assume an account manager or admin that could help you where ever your forum is hosted.

bested 07-30-2007 09:19 PM

forum is powered by vbulletin.

Anyways, I recommend SmartFTP or AceFTP, those have been pretty good to me.
Back on topic: I installed on a test site and it runs perfectly. I have yet to get any errors, can't wait for the next update.

I did not set it up, I am an admin only, bested is the site owner...I am getting mods for him...my vbulletin Username name is Clarinet

Bested -

vBulletin doesn't host the site. That tag just means that they are using the vBulletin software for the forums. Hosting would be a monthly paid company that owns the server they are using space on. What you should do is contact an admin of that site, and ask them to take care of the issue.

If you are the one running the place, then you need to upload the unzipped files into your main (root) folder, which you can do using programs like WinSCP (my personal fave), or via the web if your host allows such a thing. If the place where your forum files is located is /forum, then that's where you would consider to be the 'root' folder.

Sounds like you might want to consider hiring or finding a coder or more knowledgeable person to help you do this stuff for you.

I think bested has it with forumer...he does not have a coder.

The third person perspective is kinda confusing :-p

Bested: who installed the version of vBCredits that you are using in the first place? They should be the ones to upgrade it for you.

2) If you do NOT have TMS installed, apply the 7 Template Edits listed below. Also, if you are missing some displays, follow the directions at the very bottom.
- Please note that when you upgrade vBulletin, you will need to perform these modifications again.
What is TMS? and also can you award say "5" credits to those for making a new "post" ?

As well I would like to have them be able to use their credits on something how do I do this?

Thanks.

I linked to it in the main post. It is not required to install, just makes template editing automatic instead of manual. If you dont know what it is, you most likely dont have it installed, and you shouldnt bother installing it just for that :-p (just merely a little plus if you do)

Special Sneak Preview Demo

I have put up a little thing you guys can play with on my site, located in the user cp.
http://www.vbcredits.com/forum/customizer.php?do=usercp

Please note that it is NOT functional, nor does it contain (completely) real data :-p it is there as a teaser. Please post feedback in the announcement thread on my site, thanks.

Okay, I have a new request for a mod to be integrated with this one, and that is the Interactive Profiles modification found here: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=150028

The features which I have people on my own forum wanting include being able to buy and donate profile styles via points, maybe using the shop add on you are working on when it releases, and I guess the usual stuff like points for being on friends lists or for commenting on profiles?

An example of a profile style is here:

http://dsultimate.net/Board/upload/member.php?u=1 (which is the Castle Bleck one released in my article here).

Just a suggestion from myself and my own forum members for something to integrate. In future, I also guess gallery scripts would be good for integration, am I right?
