Something I didn't find anywhere in this thread is how do you use this backup to do a restore?
TIA

You don't. You import the SQL files via phpMyAdmin.

or better still, using SSH (if you have access).

Will this work on a large db 400+mb?

Yes.

Installed, running beautifully on 3.6.8 RL2. I actually made my own scheduled task, as I didn't realise the hack had already made one, but it's all working great. Thanks very much!

Installed and ran this manually, got this error

Quote:

Database Backup
An error occured during the MySQL backup. Details (Could not open Destination SQL file for writing.)
in the mysqlbackupconfig file I used the /backups/ directory, I know this one exists on the server at the root level and I have insured it's 777, seems I am close,,,but still not working...

any further ideas are appreciated...

When you get the time..

Thanks

GK

thanks paul , realy great backup system.
is there any problem to do not shutdown forum in backup progress?

if so , just edit : $backup['SHUTDOWN'] = 1; to $backup['SHUTDOWN'] = 0;
??

Paul M 02-06-2008 07:06 AM

I dont use the shutdown and have never had an issue.
