How can i change this mod so that it wont display any thanks info in the users profile.

I have removed the rep system from my site as it goes against my forums purpose and this could be seen as rep.

I love the mod and really weant to use it but need to have it without this.

Can only Super admins delete thanks? I want all my admins and mods to be able to delete thanks but only I seem able to.

Is there anyway to disable the "post" that is made in the thread "The following user(s) say thank you to so-and-so for this useful post" which displays the names of the users that clicked "thanks"?

We have installed the hack and it works great, we would just like to keep a total of how many times a user was thanked rather than display who thanked who in order to avoid some childishness that may come as a result (why didn't so and so thank me?).

Any option to turn the "thanks post" on or off would be great, maybe at the user level so mods and admins could see it but not registered users?

Can i revert all templates and then install post thank you 7.4 for upgrade from version 5 ?

I need to do the same thing and I don't recall what i did last time (before i upgraded to 3.7). it was a template change somewhere.

I have a customized skin...

After 1 hour changing everything i don't see any button or the thank you information.
I see everything in the default vb template and if i vote i also see the box information below the thread in the costumized template...

But no button or info below user (nº of thanks and so on)

you need to add the button gif into the relative folder for the custom skin.

I tried without success. The image was already in the skin folder :(
I'm used a very personalized skin (creativecreature) and the normal vb buttons are not in the same place as default template.
Maybe i need to put the code variables by hand in any place of my skin code

Has ANYONE fixed this problem? When you view a GARS article with multiple pages of replies it adds the template for the article 'preview' at the top of the threadbit that has a summary of the article and then a link to the first page.

HOWEVER, you get an error and the thankyou's don't show up. However, it works fine on the first page, just not on subsequent pages.

Alright so I found a problem to the PHP error in GARS if you have multiple pages of replies.

Go into your /includes/functions_post_thanks.php file and find:

Above that add:
Then after the end of the function add a closing bracket (})

And you won't get the error anymore!

Does anyone else find it ironic that a mod that is supposed to cut down on replies has 138 pages of replies?

I tried to install by the way and my threads went completely blank.

I have version 5.0 and it still works but would like to maybe upgrade, I don't know how to get my current verison to show up on more than one theme(Template), any one have some clues? Or anyone help me with the install, would like the groan hack as well.

I have Hide hack resurection expanded edition. now the provider will not support it any more. I want to update my vb to 3.8 but Im not sure it works with that hack. I need my thanks database can I convert that to this hack?

You can edit it in your vbulletin adminCP but the way i do it is this way:

Load up the XML in an editor program like Dreamweaver and search for <strong> & </strong> and remove them from the code. Save and reinstall the XML document.

I have found two instances of this:

Line 106 & line 144 has these codes for your "Following User Says Thank You to..."

&

So search for these two and remove the <strong> & </strong>

Where are the thank you stats accessed? (if that function exists)

I'm running a thank you contest and want to show the top people being thanked...

I have version 5.3 installed on vb 3.6.5. I have just installed a new style and edited the templates as per instructions, everything is in the postbit but i can't get anything to show in the posts: ie thanked by etc. I don't have the xml for 5.3 to try and force things to the new style.... will overwriting with the v7.3 xml break anything.
Help please.

Go into AdminCP>Vbulletin Options>Cyb Forum Statistics

Now goto Status Management 1st Row or 2nd Row and click so it shows Top Thanked

Open your XML document in an editor program and look around line 341 you should see phrasename.

Now you need to change all occurrences of "Thanked" and "thanks" to whatever you need to change it to.

There are quite a few of them. Be very careful you dont change any of these : post_thanks_thanked_posts as this will make the code stop working.

Re-Install your XML and overwrite.

Great hack. I have a question. How hard do you think it would be to force people to click "thanks" before they could download an attachment file from that particular thread. Is it something that would be possible somehow? I don't mind trying to figure it out myself, just a point in the right direction of whether it would doable.
