I believe it is in the 1.5 package.

Make sure the paths to the .css and .js files are correct inside of the template. Also, attempt adding the entire URL into the path.

Check the contents in the attached image...there are no xml files at all....I downloaded it just now once again.

Yep - that was it - don't know how I missed that bit...
Thanx KING ;)

Just as an aside. one thing I have noticed since putting on the tabs is that my Google clicks dropped almost overnight to be the lowest they've been in the 6 years I've had them on, I have managed to claw back up to 25% of what they were before over the last few weeks from a low of almost 10%. I am prepared to tough it out till I can find an answer to the problem as I really don't want to lose the tabbed pages.

My only way around it seems to be to go back to the big untabbed page I used to have (around 100+ forums) and make it the deault for guests.

Has anyone else found the same problem? If so have you found a fix for it?

I guess for most forums the revenue from Google ads is quite small, I don't want to get into earnings in an open forum, all I will say in public is, my Google revenue was extremely substantial and to have it drop by around 90% is a very, very big problem.

Cheers - Neil :)

Hmmmm - This is interesting - waiting to see if anyone else has noticed such a trend with adsense. I'd generally say that most clicks come from unregistereds having found your forum via search engine, as opposed to Members or unregistereds browsing via the main forum index... Makes me say hmmmm anyway...

OH! One thing... I noticed too that my adsense clicks had been down for the week - Waaaaay down actually, now that you mention it. I'd checked earlier for the 7-day total and it was 50% what it usually is. THAT makes me say hmmmmmm. I wonder if others have noticed anything? Apparently Google is retiring Referals in August... I don't run any referals though... Weird - the thing is - I'd only installed Tabbed Forum Home this evening...

So for the moment = INSTALLED!
Thanx for a wonderful modification - gives the board a very clean and uncluttered appearance :) But what the hell is up with google?!?!?!?

Hey dude,

Just wondering if there are any news/updates with v2? I'm still having trouble combining this with this mod

Sharapova 07-07-2008 04:16 PM

Please take a look at my site:

http://www.ozvirtualsports.com/forum....php?styleid=9

Seems to be some sort of link issue maybe?

I'm positive i've done all the right things, I'll continue searching the thread, up to page 12 now. Just getting it in so I can get a faster reply

it can't find the .css

In the FORUM HOME Template, find this code .. remove the two forward slashes in red below.

Code:

<!-- Tabbed Forum Home Header Code -->
        <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="/clientscript/tabs/ajaxtabs.css" />
        <script type="text/javascript" src="/clientscript/tabs/ajaxtabs.js"> </script>
<!-- /Tabbed Forum Home Header Code -->

Alright I went back 1 page and saw that I had to put /forum before a few things

Now I've got another issue/question, how do I get the buttons (tabs) to look like a gradient instead of solid colour?

Didn't even see your post, very quick answer, thanks.

I assume you have your google code in your footer template correct? I know that this doesn't effect it directly, however, when you click on a tab, its not refreshing the footer, so each tab click won't get you a google click. You could try and also imbed the google code into each tab, so everytime a tab gets clicked, it counts.

There is no way that this would cause a 90% reduction.. I could see a slight reduction based on the fact that instead of a user refreshing the forum home page to see if something new was posted, they now would click a tab which only refreshes the info within the tab container (not hitting the google code in the footer) .. this slight reduction can be resolved by adding the google code to the FORUMHOMETAB template (as well as keeping it in the footer)

Any idea on how to solve it?

I am running 3.7.2 & other than this(when user online on forum index page) everything is fine.

EDIT 1:

The pop ups for new PM not working on home page(index)

I haven't added the WOL XML yet. I'll see if I have time tonight. btw, this won't effect PM Popups.

All that is done via the CSS File :D

Sharapova 07-07-2008 04:56 PM

Any chance you could help me with that? :p

I was looking for something similar to:

http://www.bbwforums.net/

With the margin set up like that too. :)

Default Colour: #000000
When Clicked: blue/gradients/gradient_tcat.gif

Would very very much appreciate it. If you were looking for a very small fee I could give that too. :p

Sharapova 07-07-2008 05:14 PM

Actually, all I need to know is how to set background colour as an image. :)
