Feature Request:

Notification if a user says Thanks to a post with the Post Thank You Hack from Abe1.

It's a great addition to my site vBDEV..

I really hope the new threads/replies option stays in the new version as I had to uninstall it when it did not have that as people would just sit in the chat all day and not post on the forum! It was to successful :)

One feature request I would like that I believe it can not be done yet is permissions for certain channels.

What I would like is to have guests be able to read the 'general' chat but not to be able to read what goes on is say a private channel.

About the general channel is not possible to edit it and has never been.

The main language is not english but the english xml is so you just have to translate that xml file and change the encoding at the top of the xml file.

If you are not sure which phrase were updated between two versions, you can check the xml lines where the version number is the most recent one.

This issue was already corrected in the latest version I think.

They recently (couple of months ago) upgraded from a free forum to vbulletin. How ever, your chat box doesn't automatic uses the new thread or reply ID when someone posts a reply. Possible you can implement this so it automatic grabs the new ID from the thread itself rather than the old one?

It seems to me that they don't use the latest language file.

It's showing t= while it's should be p= for the posts.

This is already a feature of the chatbox.

I have attached a rough sketch of the proposed layout. I did use something similar to it before. The users liked it since the full size avatar of whoever last chatted would show up.

Feature request: I would like to see an alternative avatar layout where only the last person who chatted could have a full avatar showing. Nobody else's avatar would show. I used to have a program that did this, but I like yours better overall. That feature would be nice since as you chat the avatar of the last person changes and you can see the detail from their avatar in full size without taking up screen space showing everyone's avatar at that size.

The format then would go like this:

Column 1:
First rows: Enter Chat Here - Buttons - Icons
Last rows: Last Person Chatted Avatar (Full Size Avatar shows)

Column 2+:
As it is now, Date, Time, Chat, etc.

I love this chatbox, just one issue I have is there is some instruction missing or a code missing that truly allows me to add the chatbox to other pages, like postedit, profile, search, worldmap, ibproarcade, no matter what I have tried I have been unable to get the chatbox to show on any other page other than what it allows by default. Can anyone address this issue or give a solution. Trust me I have followed the instructions to the Letter and still no chatbox showing, its like the var code is not registered on a necessary page or file which allows us to use the var code, and just putting the page names in the admin cp does no good either.

PS: If you have a channel stop showing the chats or shouts go into the archive and delete any chat or shout with special characters. The chatbox will start working again.

I have opened the chat box up for a large number of my members, so that was some rigorous testing. Here is what I encountered:

Problems:

1. The chat box could not handle around 100 concurrent members. Whenever more than 80-90 members where in, the chat became problematic and slow. Whenever near 100 chatters, members would be thrown out/denied with 15-20 at a time. Can this be improved / avoided?
2. Access from the chat box on forum pages was hard for a lot of members, while chat access from the main chat page /mgc_cb_evo.php?do=view_chatbox did not give access problems(until 80 chatters where in). Members often where unable to view shouts in the main channel, when accessing on a forum page.

Does this make sense to you? Any idea what happened?
I would like to open the chat box up again for my members, if it can take a few hundred concurrent chatters.

Feature requests:

1. A much requested feature by my members is to have the input field below the shouts. please consider adding this.
2. It would be useful to be able to infract members from the chat box.
3. Invite members into a channel.
