There are little bugs at the 3.1.7 version!

When one pushes a thanks or a like button of a specific post and pushes directly after the arrow (legacy postbit) to expand the statistics of the user which post got rightly thanked / liked an error message appears:
Invalid post specified. If you followed a valid link , please notify the administrator.

Second: At the members profile-->Thanks / like tab there are more register tabs than needed, the last few just show: No results to show. :rolleyes::confused:

No, this mod has its own "HIDE" functionality.

This is a minor visual issue, if they refresh the page it'll go back to normal.

There's only one profile tab for this mod, and it's needed.

Sorry I have expressed myself unclear, I mean the pages there. The last pages are there but have no thanks / likes listed ..No results to show...

So why the excess of pages then? ;)

That's actually a "Won't Fix" issue - the count is slightly inaccurate for performance reasons. It was either that issue with a significant increase in performance, or sluggish performance that could bring down large forums.

This can happen if you have a very big post table. If you let it sit for a while it should complete it eventually :)

I had now time to compare the original thank you hack to yours.


Here are my impressions:

-Abe's hack is done in a plain fashion, is free AND offers already anything one needs such as to remove thanks and even to remove any thanks of a post by administrators at the posts directly without to have to go to the admin CP.

-It has no performance issues like yours and displays posts with 7000 thanks quickly without the need to raise php memory to 512 MB!!!.... (128 MB) is enough.
-There is actually no technical reason why since the original did that very well with 128 MByte of php memory.
-The maintenance functions of the original hack ran much faster than yours (same amount of thanks).
-The hottest threads / posts statistic page loads slowly!

-And there is no obvious reason why there should be excess pages at the thanks / likes register! Count inaccurate for performance reason? This makes no sense from a technical POV except it compensates an issue but does not really eliminate it.
Any threads themselves have accurate amount of pages and do not need more than 128 MB php memory to be displayed!

-To pay 60 bucks to have an original free feature to delete thanks is more than questionable with those performance issues.

I can't get the buttons to display. And I already edited the buttons in the Button Management screen and set their Can Click permissions.

Every group has the "can click" marked. What can it be?

Edit: I got it to work.

I am a Super Administrator on my forum and I've installed the mod.

When I go to Manage Buttons it says....

'Invalid Button: 0'

I see 'Post Thanks / Like ' on the sidebar under the usernames, but there is no way to actually like a post as there aren't any buttons displaying.

This is most commonly the result of CSS settings, namely the background attribute of the .postbitlegacy .postfoot .textcontrols a, .postbit .postfoot .textcontrols a, .eventbit .eventfoot .eventcontrols a { CSS class, in postbit.css.
To fix it, please try the following steps:

Step 1) Remove all the contents of the postbit_control_background StyleVar.
Step 2) If that didn't fix it, please enter the postbit.css file and find the .postbitlegacy .postfoot .textcontrols a, .postbit .postfoot .textcontrols a, .eventbit .eventfoot .eventcontrols a { CSS class, and remove the background: definition.


Putting the bar inside the signature is a Pro-only feature :)

Check the usergroup permissions per button in the AdminCP :)

Please try clicking Repair Cache.

Hello I got a tiny problem here, everything my guests sign up and post something their posts get hidden with "This post requires you to click the Likes button to read this content." mainly for new Registered users as well. Is there anything I can fix that? Also I got S-O-M from Glowhost installed too.

I have a special question which could be interesting for others as well:

One has accidentally deleted a user via adminCP. The user has had ~300 posts, some of them have got thanks.
The posts are still there but assigned as guest (userid = 0, AFAIK) but the original username is still there.

A SQL query: UPDATE post SET userid='xxx' WHERE username='Old Name';

...with 'xxx' being the userid number of the new account and 'Old Name' being the user name on those posts....

...reassigned the posts to the new userID. After recount (vb maintenance) they appeared, also the thanks the others gave below the posts. Posts are search-able as well.

But by executing DBTech maintenance I was not able to assign the thanks the others gave him at his posts to the new userprofile, why? It should, shouldn't it?

I mean the thanks all the other users gave have reference to the posts (otherwise whey would not appear below there) and the posts have reference to the new userID.

Do I need to execute an additional SQL query and if yes what would be the right one?

It would be great to find a solution.

I have installed this, it comes up in my acpanel... but i cannot get it to show on my forum threads, help!

I am having this same issue. I've tried rebuilding/repairing the cache and have run other VB SQL maintenance scripts. No errors crop up during install. I've tried this on a demo site and am having this issue with both 4.2.1 and 4.2.2.

Nevermind got it working!!!

There's userid and receiveduserid columns in the APTL dbtech_thanks_entry table as well.

Hi, when I give thanks to the product coming out in the counter is not updated the postbit have to go to AdminCP and recalculate thanks and repair the cache, to do or change to no longer do those steps and that automatically update the Thanksgiving on a thread. I await your prompt response.

I do not that this directory in my AdminCP.

Looks like shahidbaloch is also having same problem as me.

I installed user tagging lite. all files seem to be in the right place, tagging and mentions work as do emails but when the user goes to get the mentions from the notifications drop down, it brings up a 404 page not found error. any idea on what I did wrong?

This is not an issue anyone else have been able to reproduce as far as I know. Can you please run the "Rebuild Statistics" maintenance action and then recalculate?

Have you configured the usergroup permissions in the Manage Buttons interface?

This might be the wrong thread for that issue :)
