remove commands if any... Double check
Remove the XML via plugins.... As in UNINSTALL
Remove files....

If it doesn't work, you mucked something up that has nothing to do with the chat.

thanks for this wondereful chatbox...thanks for sharing it...but one thing...is i don't understand...i don't see any message...or images...nothing at all...when i clicked OK it keep my page poping up leaving the header-chatbox-footer on my forumhome...but no message at all...please help...

using vB 3.6.8 PL2 here...installed without a problem... :(

I'm having this issue as well. I tried removing the PM command in the chatbox but it persisted. I disabled the chatbox and tried to PM someone, the PM pop-up appeared.

Is there a workaround for this?

Please once installed test that the chatbox display in forumhome, forumdisplay and showthread still works and doesn't fire any error. And also test the chatbox display on all pages.

If that fixes it I will release it officially.

Can someone please help me ive installed this chat box and it gives me a security token error only on 1 or my templates.. i added <input type="hidden" name="securitytoken" value="$bbuserinfo[securitytoken]" /> after every value="$session[sessionhash]" but i seem to still get this error chat box was stuck at loading

The product totally messed up my admincp. I deleted the files, uninstalled the plugin but this still appears in my Usergroup Manager:

Just a blank menu instead of the regular MGC Chatbox menu. Now, when I try and save new settings the following error comes up:

MySQL Error : Unknown column 'mgc_cb_evo_permissions' in 'field list'

It is basically trying to save to a column that doesn't exist, since I removed the mod. There's a temporary solution - I basically re-imported the product and disabled it, and then everything is just fine.

Any permanent solution from the author of the mod? Please help!

You must carefully follow these steps if you don't want to screw up your forum when uninstalling the chatbox.

1/ Uninstall all the commands you had installed on the forum
2/ Remove the chatbox files from your forum directories
3/ Uninstall the MGC Chatbox Evo product
4/ You're done with the uninstall

I went straight to step 2 because I had no commands installed.

just a note for everyone....

you must uninstall the xml FIRST, remove files SECOND. otherwise the forum will crash.

it appears as if the error is no more!

However, now I have other issues.

When i use firebug, and I go to the full page chat box, I see the following:

Yes I know that, it's not a bug as It can be used and shall work. I think that it works if you don't have firebug active ?

You were supposed to remove the files and then uninstall the xml and you did the contrary this is why you get that error.

So...after months i decided it was time to uninstall the old MGC and move to EVO.

I did uninstall everything before installing... now, i installed EVO and it seems everything was wonderful... then set my permissions as admin to do whatever i want.

Now, I go to theforum to test the new chatbox, type my message... and click ok.

Nothing Oo

Another try... and another, nothing is shown in the chatbox. Then i checked the archives, nothing there.

I went to verify my sql tables, there are vb_mgc_cb_evo_channel, vb_mgc_cb_evo_chat, vb_mgc_cb_evo_command, vb_mgc_cb_evo_command_code and vb_mgc_cb_evo_session.

No message was saved on them... what did i do wrong? u.u

I'll start reading the whole 135 pages ^^'

obmob - I've run into the same issues for some reason.

Hopefully we'll find some others as well so we can figure out where the problem lies.

How do i completly remove this mod from everyware on my forum?

When i uninstalled it, and went to edit usergroup permissions it will not let me because of this mod. I uninstalled it but it still has code in my files, how do i completly remove it?

Hmm... so, finally I found something, replaced 0.5.0 mgc_cb_evo and mgc_cb_evo_ajax with 0.3.0 as one post suggested... don't knowwhy, but now the chat is working Oo

still no improve on this...try to re-install and see to it...100% followed what all the install instruction say...same as the usergroup permission...but still can't see anything to chatbox...so as the smiley...totally blank...but the chatbox is there...something is not correct here...it's weird...same as what happened to OBMOB & RedGTiVR6...

bro i did also and follow this trick...but still no luck... :( we have 2 mgc_cb_evo right...the one to be place to root and the one to admincp folder...are both to place to root...right?...i might try maybe the other version on this...just to play around...to make this work...hopefully...:rolleyes:

See!? Wasn't so hard! Didn't even used a translator :D

Oh and Opera issue still remains! Unfortunately! But in strange way. I mean, the menus work but when the amount of shouts are so that the scroll bar is seen they stop working right. My trick: click the button, scroll down or up the chatbox and then the menu is working right (hope you understand me).

@VBDev you didn't comment this post! Or isn't there anything to comment?:)

Hi VBDev,

Ok I have had help checking for problems with version 0.5.0 running on VBulletin version 3.7.2 Patch Level 1.

I can send other members a pm fine in the chatbox, the popup works correctly. But when other members try to send me or another member a pm, it says "user does not exist". This is the case also when other members try to respond to my pm.

I have updated and set settings correctly for user groups. Besides the pm problem the chatbox is working correctly.

Just trying to assist you with tracking down the problem others may be experiencing.

thanks, i put it in the styles folder index and no buttons displayed it was tons of text causeing the shoutbox to be twice the size of my page lol glad i fixed that

PLEASE HELP LOL i know it says your supposed to upload the commands from the chatbox commands system or sumthing like that but I DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT THATIS OR WHERE TO GO TO GET TO IT i uploaded the file in the commands folder root but i cant figure out how to upload the actual commands

i have upgraded to version 0.5.0 made sure all templates where reverted and yet i get this error in the Blog page. I have vbblog 1-0-5.
I get the error on all pages except forumhome. Where as you can see i have enabled the chat box to show.
It seems to be trying to display on all pages..

Well i only run the chat box on the forum home. So the solution for the moment i have found to get rid of this error on the other pages is to:

edit the template called mgc_cb_evo_headinclude and change the template from

If you have problems with 0.5.0 version of the chatbox please go back to previous version.

I hope to post a new version if I can to fix that autocomplete messing up feature in august.
