It's not cleared. It's just the Ajax script for Quick Edit. Refresh the page.

I tried reading through all 134 pages of this mod but I can't seem to find an answer and my eyes are hurting from all the scanning.

I installed this mod, I decided that I didn't want it so I uninstalled it.

When I did this it broke my site. Now all the pages are all "unstyled"

Background is white, fonts are all messed and the site is just horrible.

It seems to function okay but the removal did something to the look.

What can I do to fix this?

please help.

redtailboa 08-26-2010 07:36 PM

I just updated my site from 3.6 to 3.8, we had version 6 of post thank installed. I downloaded 7.7 today. I read the install instructions and it had no template edits so I went ahead and removed all the template edits I had before. I did the import (overwriting) and it appeared to upgrade fine.

I am having issues now. I see the thanks button but when I click it, it just dissapears. I am also missing the postbit that shows how many times a user has been thanked or has given thanks. Is there anyway to correct this?

Website I did this was on www.redtailboa.net

Redneck-Melly 09-01-2010 04:18 PM

Is there any way you could have this mod then make one just like it that is for prayer? Like you have the Thank you hack installed then also have a "Praying" button to click? That works the exact same way?

Setokaiba (SW) 09-13-2010 10:44 PM

Someone had this problem and managed to solve?
Each time you click thanks, gets a post

Warlord 09-14-2010 01:00 AM

Installed (although slightly edited to turn it into a like button instead).

Great hack!

SpeedyHire 09-14-2010 01:18 PM

Warning: array_merge() [function.array-merge]: Argument #2 is not an array in [path]/post_thanks.php on line 57

Unregistered

getting the above error if and unregged user makes a post and you hit the thank you button

apart from that a nice little mod

thank you

Warlord 09-14-2010 03:11 PM

Personally, I wouldn't let unregistered users post because of the seemingly limitless spam-bots anyway. They find ways to register and post, I can't imagine how many I'd have if they didn't even have to register.

SpeedyHire 09-14-2010 05:05 PM

registration is not open to anyone to be able to post. however the easy form application is what users that are unregistered can use.
now that will make a poll / post into a forum.
so it will come up as unregistered posted.

thats where the problem is with the thnak you mod.

Hi! Great hack, but may be I missed something - is it any chance I can MASS remove someone "thanks"?

gsmlover4u 10-11-2010 08:06 AM

SpeedyHire 10-12-2010 03:53 AM

It seems as though you need to ftp the files again and re-import the product overwriting the original.

Loll lots of threads to read in order to find a solution so,
Abe, i have the hack running fine in every template i have on the forum but for one particular one, it's not showing any stats??? I have the button that is out of place but this could be just because the "$template_hook[postbit_controls]" is out of place but as soon as you push it, their is no return on who said thanks and how many to show in posbit_legacy :(

Any idea why? I hope you're still looking at this version since the 4.0 is out lolll
Tks man

fxwoody 10-21-2010 12:24 PM

BUMP!!
Never mind i fixed it ;)

m2006 10-24-2010 06:43 AM

Thanks you very much for mods

weindians 10-24-2010 09:08 PM

the most unsupported mod is still staying up top...... i think coders are concentrating on vb4 versions leaving 3.x.x version unsupported.. lol...

jthorpe 11-07-2010 06:30 PM

I'm having an issue whereas each time a person gets thanked, it's counted twice instead of once. For instance, if one person thanks another, it says the following two people have thanked you for xxx post. Anyone seen this before? Where can I go to fix it? I've been searching but haven't been able to find a solution.

jthorpe 11-07-2010 11:13 PM

I'm also having permissions problems where the forum gives me a page permission error after submitting a thanks about someone. I'm thinking that this mod is gonna have to go soon if there is no support here for it anymore...

Personally, i would uninstall the mod, remove all uploaded files, reverse any template issues you made then reinstall afresh, dont make any template changes and see how the mod works, if it performs as it should then it was a template chnage that caused the duplication...etc, i have it installed on my site and have had it installed since using 3.7.x, i've always upgraded (well not to nasty nasty vb4.0.x) im now on 3.8.6 and it still works perfect!

jthorpe 11-09-2010 04:07 PM

Thanks for the suggestion. I have been busy installing Tapatalk on my sites but once I get that done, I am going to tackle this one again. My users really want it.

PhillySportsNow 12-07-2010 04:48 AM

After I installed this mod, I received the following message after trying to "Thank" a post:

Quote:

404 Not Found

The requested URL /forums/post_thanks.php was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found
error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Took me an hour to figure this out & in the end, I bypassed uploading the initial "post_thanks.php" file. Because all those folders are over the top of it, it's easily missed.

I have a feeling that several members have done the same exact thing.

Dave Hybrid 12-12-2010 01:46 PM

Uninstalled and now i get this error every few hours, any help much appreciated!

Make sure you remove ALL the files you uploaded, if you're not sure which ones then simply download the file from here again and check which ones are where :)

Scandal 12-14-2010 09:18 AM

Great hack, thank you! :D

I will use it as "I agree"- "thumbs up"post rating system.

PattiOz 12-22-2010 10:55 PM

This completely crashed my database.

            </if>
            </if>
            </if>
<!-- End Post Thank You Hack -->

How can I remove the part at the bottom of the postbit please?

I think I must edit a plugin, but don't remember which, please help.

Just empty your post_thanks_postbit_legacy template and same location for Groan Post

Scandal 12-25-2010 04:53 PM

Any idea how to "import" the post_thanks_postbit_legacy template into the postbit_legacy without problems?

kronnos 12-27-2010 03:18 PM

Seems pretty useful, just one question. How much pressure does it add to on the site load, database queries, memory, and pretty much anything slowing down the site?

Geek Specialtie 01-06-2011 03:46 AM

Is there a way to search/display for the most thanked posts?

dendrob 01-06-2011 10:54 PM

Is there a reverse of this mod ????
It would be great to allow members to give threads negative value... One user says "Thanks" the other says "crap post" these would negate themselves and the post would be Thanked Zero Times. In other words, allow members to vote on a thread and decrease user's thanked posts count. Allowing people to only thank for a post is very one sided and doesn't reveal quality of posts to the community but only select few that share the same ideals

Here is one I know of. You need the pro ($ paid) version of it for dislikes.

The coder of the "Thanks" also does a "Groan" one too. Unfortunately, it doesn't deduct a "Thanks" for each groan received. But it is a great hack though. I use BOTH of these on my forum.

Here it is, here:

Is there a hack for a "like" button.
Or is there a way I can edit the part of the "thank you" hack that says "The Following User Says Thank You" ( It's the part that shows up under the post once someone has clicked on thanks)
