Sabe ~ Are you still working on this one?

Not added in 2.0.x

I would suggest editing your header template and appending the links to '../$vboptions[forumhome].php' instead of just '$vboptions[forumhome].php'

Sorry if this has been asked before, but how does each specific group specify their own custom image? (by uploading or linking) Instead of grps_mygroups_noimage.gif

Aquestor 02-13-2008 01:48 AM

Hi,
everything works fine when i look at the site with the link:
http://xyz.de/groups/

i also added: $grps_mygroupsbits

at the usercp template, but it isn`t shown in the usercp

i already give the user the right

any idea?

I am sorry, but i did not found the solution of my problem. surly it will be here somewhere, but there tons of replies. So i apologize...

I got a path problem.

my structure is:

vb in the root-folder
/groups

but my links in the navbar and so on are broken.

ex. : http://www.boards-united.com/groups/usercp.php
http://www.boards-united.com/groups/memberlist.php

instead of :
http://www.boards-united.com/usercp.php
http://www.boards-united.com/memberlist.php

please tell me how to fix it....

Greetings Frrom germany!

Hi,
I get this VBmessage with VB3.7.0 B4 when I clicked my group title on USERCP page.
"This user has not registered and therefore does not have a profile to view."

How can I fix?
Please help...

Thanks.

I think...Maybe I fixed.

The problem disappeared when I edit some code from PLUG-IN:GRPS: Group Activity In User CP (15 Newest).

Find and delete RED code.
Code:

$mygroups .= "
                        <li id=\"grpsgroupsbullets\">
                                <a href=\"" . $baselocation . "/groups/groups.php?" . $vbulletin->session->vars['sessionurl'] . "g=" . $grps_mygroupsinfo['groupid'] . "\" title=\"" . $grps_mygroupsinfo['title'] . "\"><b>" . fetch_trimmed_title($grps_mygroupsinfo['title'], 15) . "</b></a><br />

Is this correct?
Anyway the problem disappeared....... :)

Is this groups mod good for 3.68 and and if i upgrade to 3.7 will I have any problems? Also what is the difference with this group mod and the one in 3.7?

I'm pretty certain 3.7 makes this mod obsolete.

davemac 03-12-2008 01:13 PM

Can anybody point out any sites that have implemented this mod - it looks great so far, and I'd love to see what it looks like live.

I'm not sure, vB 3.7 only allows you to have social groups with comments and adding pictures from user albums. Will I be right in that this mod is actually what is being used at Game Trailers? If so then there is a TON of features on this mod that is missing from vB 3.7. If vB 3.7 had forums for Social Groups then, and only then will this mod be almost obsolete. For now though I think that this will be the one thing that everyone that uses it wills till keep using it.

I get the feeling that this is the same mod used at Game Trailers because they haven't updated their vB since vB3.6.4 which is the last working version update on this mod.

Varsh 03-20-2008 09:47 PM

Well I tried this out and unfortunately it doesn't allow attachments which was what I was really hoping for. I guess it's just a matter of waiting for a Forums for Social Groups mod.

DivineMessenger 03-23-2008 02:24 PM

I kept getting the chdir error even though I know I did it right, so instead I tried to change the dir to / instead of /forums and I didn't get an error but I got this:

http://thedivinemessengers.com/group...onfig_grps.php

A blank white page. Any ideas?

Varsh 03-23-2008 11:32 PM

I had the same problem too, I might change it so that the groups are in the forums directory to see what happens then. But I probably won't use this now as it doesn't allow attachments. This mod is awesome, especially for 3.6. If Sabre could update this hack for 3.7 but integrating Social Groups with having their own forums then that would be fantastic, hell I would even pay for a mod like that.

DivineMessenger 03-24-2008 03:16 PM

I tried it both ways, it wont change anything.

What can I do to fix this?

DivineMessenger 03-24-2008 04:09 PM

Does this mod not work on 3.6.8 or something?

DivineMessenger 03-25-2008 09:25 PM

anyone?

Varsh 03-28-2008 10:12 AM

The mod works perfectly fine with both 3.6.x and 3.7RC1. Check that you have configured the config file properly.

DieselTruck 04-02-2008 12:22 AM

How come it shows up like this?

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2008/04/74.jpg

DieselTruck 04-02-2008 07:14 PM

Can anybody tell where to set my paths to make the images appear right?

DieselTruck 04-03-2008 02:33 PM

Anybody?

I don't understand where to change the path urls?

Jecht 04-05-2008 10:48 PM

I would imagine maybe something like this - Below

HTML Code:

// ## Set's the base root directory back to the forums for all images ##
$img_forums = "/";

replace "/" with your own settings, depending on where your root directory is. I noticed that it was missing in the config file, and found a post with this issue burried within this thread.

On another note - I need some assistance

I am currently having a directory issue.

http://www.fainteconnections.com/groups that is how my forum is set up, for some reason the links in my navbar are not working correctly

instead of my links looking like this

http://www.fainteconnections.com/usercp.php

it instead looks like this

http://www.fainteconnections.com/groups/usercp.php

I noticed another member had this problem, posted it but nobody ever got around to responding to it. If you can help out with this that would be appreciated.

Thanks
Chris

DieselTruck 04-07-2008 03:43 PM

Thanks!

Where would I locate that code at? Config.php? I can't find it there..

DieselTruck 04-07-2008 05:14 PM

Guess we have to help each other.

I can't figure out what to do to the config.php file either.

RebeccaK 04-08-2008 10:45 PM

This is soooo frustrating. Can anyone help out a bit here?

RebeccaK 04-08-2008 11:05 PM

Okay.....
I think I finally got the installer to run.

All I got was a "Done". That was the only word on the page.

However.....

I can see the Grps areas in the Admin CP.

I can edit categories etc.

I have a message in my profile that says that I am member of no groups.

But.......I have NOTHING in the Usercp about groups.

I have no clue where to go to add myself to a group (or remove myself from one).

I have no clue how to access the groups forums.

PLEASE!!!!!! Can ANYONE help?

RebeccaK 04-09-2008 05:14 AM

I keep checking back hoping that somebody----anybody---is paying attention to this thread!

Help please!

DieselTruck 04-10-2008 08:52 PM

I've gave up on it.

I upgraded the forums to 3.7 RC2 to have the social groups function. It will be just as good as this one. There is a mod for individual groups forum to.

Dirk Matthies 09-18-2008 05:08 PM

Has anyone come up with a way to convert Groups Commune groups/posts to Social Groups or forums??

Warlord 12-07-2008 10:56 PM

For some reason none of my dropdown menu's work when in the groups directory. They work on the rest of the site tho. Anyone have any suggestions for me?

Ok, we figured it out. To correct this problem:

In template headinclude find all instances of:

Code:

clientscript/
Replace it with:

Code:

{$vboptions[bburl]}/clientscript/
Your dropdown menu's should now work. :D

Note: By default you should only have 2 instances of clientscript/ in your headinclude template, but you may have more depending on what hacks you have installed.
